I don't care that Ellie is a lesbian. I'm not bothered by it or going to freak out with "sjw ruining muh gaym!" just for that alone. However, there is a giant difference between having a character who happens to be black, gay, trans or whatever and absolutely slapping you in the face with it over and over again.

I was perfectly find with how the first game handled it. It was mentioned, but not harped upon. However, I have my concerns for the second game because when given the chance to show us something, first thing they did was straight to the lesbian kiss. That was the front and center of their presentation.

Here's a good analogy. You know how when someone always bring up Jesus in everyday conversations and you just kind of roll or eyes or feel uncomfortable? Honestly I am expecting the most gruesome and brutal of violence-kino. Look at how this enemy gets gibbed. When was the last time we had a game where they went all-out with the explosion gore and giblets, with most of the enemy's body turning into a floppy dismembered skin-bag whirling through the air? Devs have been shying away from that degree of realistic brutality and violence for years, but Naughty Dog gets a pass for doing it because the first game already set such a precedent for it and because they have so many SJW brownie points already. Also look at how the enemies make realistic expressions of fear and pain and anger as you struggle with them.

I just hope the plot isn't too cringey

Uncharted 4 was ruined by two main things: grounding uncharted in grittier realism and stripping it from the larger-than-life spirit it had (such as removing the supernatural twist)

And 2) it introduced a brother character out of left field. It was a completely unnecessary, shoehorned plot device. If Sam was a long lost friend it would’ve worked exactly the same and been much better. Who the fuck doesn’t tell your friends and family you don’t have a brother? It’s stupid as shit

The thing is her being a lesbian could set up for a lot of very interesting plot threads and confrontations but with how they're going about it I have absolutely no faith that even if that's the angle they were planning to take, that they can actually execute it well enough. Having a really predictable ending that seemingly has no point doesn't make the plot worse, it's just an element of the story. In fucking Romeo and Juliet they tell you the ending from the very beginning and it's still a good story.

The fact of the matter is that people play story based games for the adventure not the ending. I could tell everyone that Joel saves Ellie at the end or Snape kills Dumbledore or whatever but it doesn't diminish the entire 98% of the plot.
