When I first saw these I refused to believe they were real.
Not because of the characters or roster, but just because of how bad the UI looked. Compared to other Smash titles, this has to be the ugliest and laziest character select screen ever. It doesn't even have a minimalist appeal.
Needless to say I was incredibly disappointed when the game actually came out.

To be fair, Ness had a consistent design from SNES, 64, and Wii, so suddenly changing it did raise flags.
