See if you can come up with something that can work with a touch screen, whilst also appealing to HARDCORE gamers (not just normies and/or brainlets). Are you up to the challenge?
ITT: lets brainstorm a Mobile Game that isn't shit
I'd make traditional games and strike a deal with a production company to make controller attachments for phones.
Anyone who buys said attachments gets a discount on my apps and will they will be add free, as well as other bonuses.
Interesting idea you got there.
You control an endlessly flapping bird and have to use skill and precision to navigate increasingly challenging obstacles for as long as you can.
Take it, I'm not doing anything and have no money to get started.
I remember when app stores were oversaturated with such games. Good times my dude.
Diablo: Immortal
There's already plenty games that work well or would work well on mobile, you don't have to go for. Dicey Dungeons is a recent one the would be great, and Slay the Spire is already confirmed to have a port on the way.
There's already controllers for phones, nobody wants to bother.
A crpg

No wonder why OP specified "something that can work with a touch screen".
I think city builders can work, the problem is they are too well suited to horrible microtransactions.
Yeah, but not the deals and incentives for owning one.
Step 1:
>It isnt mobile
Angry Birds 1942
Baldurs gate, Online poker(real money ofc), rhythmgames, old point n click adventures
Idle game with gacha anime girls
bloooooooon
A port of (or new game in the vein of) WarioWare Touched (and maybe a dash of Twisted). Really, any random DS game that mainly uses the touch screen would probably be better than the average phone game.
original Bloons > tower defense poopy doodoo crap from a butt
Hearthstone
the perfect mobile game for hardcore gamers has been done
just do a psp/ds game
instead of doing a mobile game, do a portable game
A game where you raise a randomly generated animal that can battle others, and you can go on adventures to places like woods and caves to get items, grind, and learn new moves
Most of the moves have their own special effect, like "splash" makes the opponent slower
The artstyle will be simular to the old nintendo arcade artwork
Sky by Thatgamecompany
Chaos Rings 3
Oddmar
Asphalt 9
Dead Cells
SaGa: Scarlet Grace
Oceanhorn
Platformer that's easily repeatable with multiple different randomly generated areas. Uses the touch screen to flick the character up, down, left, or right. Harder levels will require the player to tilt the phone to allow the player to move during jumps. Add in a treasure grabbing aspect with it being an arcade online leaderboard with times for levels completed being a separate leaderboard.
Monkey Ball
So Oddmar. Except not randomly generated.
