everything horror related goes to shit when whatever villain/paranormal thing there is gets elaborated upon far too much
nobody gives a fuck about who created the xenomorphs. why the fuck should an autistic alien make them?
why the fuck do predators take the spines of their victims to suck their DNA? for what purpose?

Started SH2 for the first time just after playing the first one. I can't believe the game made me walk/run 20 minutes before the encounter with the first monster. I know this game has legendary status but it's one hell of a bad first impression.

It gets better the deeper you go/longer you play.

Obviously not.

you know what'd be really 'alien'? if we explained exactly what they are, where they come from, and why they were created.
also they're directly related to humans, so the universe is actually fucking tiny if you think about it.
the devs don't hold your hand. SH2 isn't for impatient whiny faggots.

Someone post the pic of the chick before she got murdered.

No but I really do not want to be proven wrong.

I want a Cannibal Holocaust game

Even compared to SH1, SH2 is more melancholic and paces itself more.
Then again if you didn't like it would wouldn't be alone. According to Masahiro Ito, SH2's artist, people in Japan apparently hated 2 on release.

There’s no such thing as paranormal, since if something like ghastly apparitions was real (and they are bound to exist somewhere, considering how vast the universe is) they would still be a part of the same world we live in.

got some of those infographs from the last horror thread

Looks promising. I like that the dog plays a role in the story and gameplay. I just hope it doesn't die.

is any of this games slow chilling, bone burning horror?

>believing in ghosts
Most horror games aren't spooky at all which is really disappointing

Attached: ghost.webm (1280x720, 590K)

eh, they're mostly just surreal experiences
they're more about making you feel weird and disturbed rather than actual horror
still worth checking out though

What's happening?

You are retarded.

ghost frames

at around 0:16 you can start seeing some figure moving towards the right side of the frame

ghosties

How was the nuBlair Witch movie? I heard they actually show the witch or something.

What's some /x/ tier paranormal games?

And does anybody know where you could get a cheap programming computer?

Thanks for these. Never played surreal horror games but will give it a shot.

Yes youtube.com/watch?v=sHJrPIWUrbE

>SS2 is "genuinely scary"
>afraid of monsters is only pretty spooky
this is retarded. is it not the DC version or something?

It was fine, nothing special. Very Hollywood, in the respect that it needs to show the creepy moments, and having the characters react to them, instead of just letting them sit within you and make you uncomfortable.
It's definitely the worst of the trilogy, but it's still worth a watch.

Book of Shadows is my favourite

>Want to play Fatal Frame 2 on emulator
>tfw there's only english dub

i think this needs an update

What're the scariest games you guys have played? NOT the best. Ignore if the game is a great game or not. What games scared you guys the most?
For me it's Outlast 2. I know it isn't as good as the original but the environment, enemies, and mechanics made for a more terrifying experience.

No, because I'm not a child, a third-worlder, or a middle-aged suburban stay at home mom.

yeah i dunno, it's what the guy from the last thread posted. it's probably not a finished infographic but the recommendations themselves still seem ok
afraid of monsters

I am hardened to horror to the point where I find difficulty finding horror media that scares me. It's been a few years, but SCP-087-B puts a shitfuckton of building stress and tension to the point I had to quit it. Sort of same with Containment Breach, the anticipation of 173 or the old man coming out of nowhere at random, or the dozens of others, it puts me too on edge to play. And Spooky's House of Jumpscares I was mostly fine until I got to the majora's mask-esque doll segment where he only moves when you aren't looking at him, which makes moving from one room to the next really difficult.

Afraid of Monsters is pretty tense and made me jump a few times, but it was even better back when Cocyx held the sole server for it on Sven Coop and would mess with the game in real time, playing an invincible character that could friendly fire other players and chased them with a knife, making the walls move, responding to what players were saying, making shit appear on peoples screens, playing sounds, making the walls move, etc. Awesome stuff.

People thought they showed it but apperantly it was just some person the witch had fucked up and turned into a monster.

This kindof. Horror is almost always ruined by exposition, but not necessarily that of the threat. The task of dealing with the threat is just as frequently the subject.

Also the alien movies don’t explain shit so that’s a weird example.

>Dead Space

dead space is horror, user

>SCP-087-B
>"087"?
>google it
>it's the fucking staircase
yeah no thanks

No, believing in ghosts is naivity. In the cases of where they think they have some psychic link to the spirit dimension, it's mental illness.

Bioshock 2 gave me anxiety when I was younger and was kinda new to horror and the atmosphere and whole dread feeling made me feel super anxious. Now I fucking love replaying every year as my favorite singleplayer game.

Someone's making a remake with additional rooms, events, monsters, puzzles, nightmare sequences, etc. Looks pretty neat so far. youtube.com/watch?v=V1MHzOMFfvU

Do you guys use the custom fog or the standard fog for SH2 enhanced pc?

>Does Yea Forums believe in ghosts/paranormal?

Not exactly. I do believe that there are natural processes or phenomena that we are not aware of, either due to lack of understanding or our limited biology. We don't know everything.

I'm sure spooky unexplainable shit can happen but you always have to take accounts of it with a grain of salt. 99% of these types of stories are either lies or have a reasonable explanation.

>Oh wow, this crew encountered an ancient decrepit vessel from an unknown civilisation just lying on some uninteresting planetoid, and inside was some horrific hostile creature beyond our wildest imagination. The universe is truly a dark and scary place. What else could be lurking out there?

>Lol nevermind a person crashed that ship there and it was made by aliens who made humans and the xenomorph was made by a robot lmao

I need to make one of these exclusively for rpgmaker-type games.

Our perceptions are limited. Our technology is limited. There could be forces and energies right in front of our noses all the time that we are simply incapable of seeing. Even things that we CAN see may not be as they appear.

If you put a cat in front of a television, the cat will hear and see the same things as you. But the cat will never understand the words, understand that those are people, understand that those are stories being told, understand what an actor is, understand what a camera is, and so on. You get the idea.

I am not claiming to know about anything, I am claiming to know about nothing.

What if ghosts are just aliens that are naturally invisible

I think the story goes somethinglike :
>hotel
>people are complaining about screaming coming from a room
>this guy is sent to see what all the noise is about
>see ghostly figure coming outta the room eventually
pretty sure you can hear the screaming in this video too

Or 4D objects. It doesn't even have to be a living being, even a static 4D object would have so many sides it would appear to be moving, living, whatever you want to call it.

That is assuming that 4D objects can pass into our 3D space. Nobody knows for sure. But I would assume it's a rare occurrence.

So why were they screaming?

been thinking about playing the fatal frame games
should I start with the first? I've heard the 2nd one is scarier and a better game overall

Attached: fatalframe2.jpg (455x644, 68K)

same here, i pretend to jump on this series after finishing SH4.

If you plan on playing 3 then play 1 and 2 since it relates to both of them. 4 is stand alone and 5 features someone from 1.

It takes 5 mintues if you go straight there, but it's open. The start is intentionally a slow build.
You sound too low-brow to enjoy the game. Save yourself some time and play Resident Evil 6 instead.

Here's another one worth adding to the list

spooky

Are there any 3d surreal games that don't look like shit?
I've always wanted to see a weird and surreal game with realistic visuals
