Remember that Wii Fit has 3 moves that spike, jabs ground opponents and the volleyball is great for fucking up your opponents recovery. Also if you run into some run up and shiels short hop nair spamming try hard faggot, you could always fake them out with down smash, or the weird hitbox on f-tilt.

Keep playing.You'll eventually learn through trial and error "Ok that never seems to work, so I'll stop using that move as often"
Save replays of your matches, even the ones you lose. Go back and rewatch them and see how you set yourself up to get hit with that smash attack "I see to roll toward the enemy, maybe I should try rolling away or spot dodging" Look for general stuff like that
A tip that I learned, don't roll. Rolling is super safe, but standing there with your shield up followed by a quick tilt allows you to get more % done compared to rolling away and having to run back at your opponent.
