I will boo every level more than a week old on both of my switches
I don't think these have any staying power anymore. At least until the first update drops which hopefully will be soon.
last thread was removed by a mod so I guess they're no longer allowed on Yea Forums again?
Finally bought the game two days ago and made my first level.
LR9-79W-GQF
WSM-Y45-LNF
First level. I just wanted to make a level with a raising poison swamp. It's not hard but brainlets barely even try to reach to the checkpoint.
I really hope so, the game right now is a mess. It's a chore to have to download levels if you want to play with friends, and also needs a lot more QoL improvements.
hopefully thats not the case. I mean. As long as it is one at the time
Boothoven's Descent (Newest)
VH1-N0M-DVF
When senility took his ability to compose, he retreated to his cacophonic lair.
At work but when I get home I'll check for plays and likes and return the favor.
So I put together a course using some leftover materials I was debating submitting for the last Yea Forums collab - curious what you guys think.
>Tanooki Tailwhip Tower
Q7S-WKM-WJF
>Mario: The Final Years - 7GY-SFB-8LG
A hard red coin challenges level with four rooms: Saws, skewers, cannons and icicles.
Now I'll play the other levels posted here.
KHT-1NN-XCG
I made a level where mario kills some innocent goombas, goes to Hell, defeats the devil and gets a second chance at life. Please try it
I'm usually not too bad at spinjumping but this one felt pretty challenging. I liked it. Also, not sure if you noticed but for the optional red coin you don't have to spin jump your way up there, you can just get a tiny bit of momentum and jump up, even grabbing one of the shells and putting it on yourself as a hat.
"Brainlets" probably stop trying because your course has leap of faith and trial&error issues. If you go up to the Thwomps you can't see down and have to hope the platform is under you as you jump down. With the P switch you don't know at what point it's okay to activate it or if you have to hold onto it until later on etc. When players don't know what it is you want them to do they tend to get annoyed and quit.
Good stuff with a focus on very few elements. Can skip a few of the jumps too if you go really fast. Swear those damn note blocks love to trip me up though and occasionally refuse to bounce me properly.
The idea is interesting but I can't seem to consistently do it so for me it feels very janky even though perhaps for others it isn't.
Bump
I liked it, though I'll say I damage boosted through a lot. Your bonus 1ups at the end where done in a quite interesting way and I liked the idea of Mario redeeming himself and going to heaven(?) if he does extra tasks to get all red coins while in hell.
Pretty good.
I feel like the part with the pendulum platform goes too deep into the lava. I think it would be better if you lowered the lava just a little bit. Otherwise, good level.
X21-XY3-XQF
my first and only level for this game
I feel like I peaked and can't make anything better
The P switch section was giving me a little trouble to time so I'm going to try it again later tonight, seems pretty good. The only suggestion I have is to have ground where you jump off the big thwomp instead of hoping you land on the seesaw. Ended up switching to the slower, bottom route because of how inconsistent that leap of faith is.
Does anyone get annoyed with the pro controller registering wrong inputs. It's really sensitive when holding right and, not super often, but occasionally registers an up or down input. I'm not a huge d-pad expert, but does a lack of a center pivot cause this? If so, what controller should I get instead?
Thanks for playing. I added those fire flowers to help players because I knew people would probably have troubles with some of the obstacles, and the stage can't have checkpoints.
The lava on the seesaw part is another thing I figured would give people problems but for a different reason: the hitbox on the rising lava is very inaccurate so in the central part of that section you can stand on the seesaw right as the lava reaches your feet but it won't hurt you. I thought it was pretty interesting but it's misleading to players I guess.
Thanks for pointing that out, that's something that I had not considered. I didn't really test the key route enough to see if there was another way to traverse it.
Yeah, the dpad is one of the main reasons I avoid NSMB and 3D levels. I've had way too many accidental ground pounds because it thinks I pressed down.
Agree with I ended up getting screwed by timing inconsistencies from moving platforms a few times too.
Thanks for the feedback, I might reupload it. Right now it seems the biggest issue is landing into the seesaw under the thwomps consistently.
Also, I don't know how to give proper visual guidance to the player for carrying the P Switch. Maybe locking them inside ground boxes with arrows pointing the way?
Possibly give the player the P switch closer to where it's needed, maybe just right before the two big thwomps? Trial and error is fine, the issue is more with having to backtrack through the seesaws to get anothet switch.
Jungle Jumps
XVN-W0J-P2G
Made a more difficult level this time. Wall Jump through the forest of growing trees (! Blocks) Poisonous Mushrooms (Mushroom Platforms) and Poison Ivy (The Ground in General) and make it out of this jungle in one piece.
It's a don't touch the ground stage with a lot of wall jumps. Will likely take a few tries.
reep
It would be helpful if I could actually see how many first clears or WRs I have so I know how far I am from a medal
