Oblivion is a weird game to think about. I wasn't aware of Yea Forums when it came out, and the graphics were pretty much the best thing on the market. I bought a grafix card specifically to play it. And when I did play it suddenly I felt odd as i was realizing it was shit.

Only zoomers could be nostalgic for oblivion, because they derived mindless pleasure from it in between playing with shit and crying themselves to sleep

The gameplay was ass, that's the Bethesda way, but it was a charming and, as much as it's used as a buzzword these days, genuinely comfy world to explore and just live in.

If you're talking about that screenshot, obviously a 1024x768 image with no anti-aliasing or anisotropic filtering that probably isn't even on max graphics settings is going to look worse. The landscapes still look pretty nice today, I like the sunrises and sunsets.
