I miss the days when I could just lose myself in these fucking games.

If you got a PS2 and a comfy CRT you still can.

I still do. What I find helps is playing really early in the morning, at like 4 AM, until it starts getting light outside. That really helps me get immersed.

12:30AM-3:00AM for me, or anytime if it's raining.

If you want more music from Akira Yamaoka- he's working on something. Not Silent Hill, but VERY Silent Hill 2- inspired. Classic SH 2 camera set-up, story and character-focused psychological horror. I don't know when they will reveal the game. Closest possible date- Tokyo Game Show. Might as well be E3 2020.
If you don't believe me that's totally fine. Just wait several months.

Mount the ISOs of 2 & 3, and then run their installers like always.
DON'T use W10's own virtual disc app! It will not work.
Don't install under C:\Program Files\ ! This will cause issues.
The SH1 is a PS1 rip that you gotta emulate using ePSXe or PCSX-R.

Follow the SH2 widescreen fix site's instructions to the teeth, and you should be fine.
For 3 & 4, check the Guide.

>Protips
-Play in the release order.
-Never play below Normal difficulty! Especially in case of #2!
-Replaying them all is recommended; tons of replay value.
-Turn down the ingame Brightness setting, for better gamma & colors!
-Don't try to kill everything that moves, especially outdoors. Leg it, or sneak!
-Turning OFF the flashlight can really help w/ stealth!

Last Octuber I played SH 2 for the first time, 3 AM till morning, completely dark room, on a CRT. Such an awesome experience.
