>Coffee Stain’s net sales were SEK 83 million. Their performance in the quarter was notably driven by a successful Epic Games Store promotion of Satisfactory.
OH NO NO NO NO NO, THIS WASN'T SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN STEAMBROS - INDIES NEED US, THEY CAN'T BE SUCCESSFUL ON OTHER STOREFRONTS

>Kind of shit when you compared it to the games pre-orders on Steam before they were removed from steam and number of units sold of the devs prior games on steam.
So Risk of Rain 2 sells 1 million copies x $20=$20,000,000
But factor in Steam's 30% cut, and it's down to 14,000,000
But Satisfactory sells 500,000 copies x $30=15,000,000
And you factor in Epic's 12%, that's down 13,750,000
So in the long run, Satisfactory will make way more money than Risk of Rain 2, especially with the cash injection from Epic for the exclusivity.
And I'm not even accounting for Gearbox's 10-15% they get from the ROR2 devs (Oops, that's gotta hurt)

They literally beat piracy for normalfags. I guess one good thing about EGS trying to muscle in is more people being pushed back to the black flag.

It'd sell 500k anywhere, you gook. It's just that kind of meme game.
Ayden Baker
Yet. Some how through all of that their launcher is still leagues better than any other launcher simply because nobody else remotely tries to improve themselves. Only reason I use steam is because GoG normally don't get new games and every other launcher is trash. I couldn't give a fuck about Steam themselves.

Don't kid yourself. EGS won't take your game. They got a weird elitist view on letting games in. If you aren't a Big named dev or already hugely popular Indie Dev then you are barred from selling your game on EGS.
Just use math, THQ published the numbers, they sold 500kish units
>Inb4 500k bots bought 500k units How many sources/numbers is not enough ?
Jacob Lewis
I like how the EGS tells me how many players are playing a game like steam's player tracke---- OH WAIT Or reviews. Oh wait. Or bug fixes in the forums. Oh wait.
I mean, Valve was right honestly. Piracy is mostly a service issue and they proved it by making the service easy as fuck for consumers. Now that someone is coming along to fuck with that balance with no regard for the environment they work in, I see piracy making another uptick. As long as Sweeny doesn't run out of yuan's to throw around.
Jeremiah Rivera
Ignoring how that's not really relevant, but Steam's cut is a variable so your math is slightly wrong.
first 10m * valve cut 30% then 10-50mil is 25% then 20% afterwards. Their cut was 14.5m
You mean right now? About how his store still doesn't have Pre-load and Shopping Carts when they are well past schedule and just recently said they are delaying it. It's been almost 3 years and the EGS store hasn't improved at all. It's laughable. Fucking Itch.io is overtaking them in features.
30% of RoR2's sales came from steam key sales. Which by the way the devs take 100% of the cut from.
Zachary Roberts
>This could well be jumping to conclusions, as there’s no indication at all so far that it was the Fortnite creators trying to scoop Samurai Shodown up as an exclusive.
So like I said, Steam drone.

Wow that's embarrassingly low for a Factorio clone. Nevermind that it was on the big stage at E3
Where is your evidence on Stadia's Exclusive? Amazon doesn't sell games or has a launcher.
Wyatt Morales
I still see no proof it was Epic. For all I know, it could have been Steam and you just haven't heard about Valve offering exclusives because it's under NDA.
Except I'm not making accusations, I'm saying there are others.
Steam doesn't buy up exclusivity for games, They buy devs and make them first party and fund the games development.
Juan Russell

It's false, it's based on assumptions, typical sjw screeching.
Aaron Sullivan
It's not Amazon because they buy devs and do nothing with them It's not Google because there is no exclusives to Stadia. It's not Steam because they also buy devs but not games. They fund the devs to make games.
Only left over option is EGS. Which is infamous for paying last min for timed exclusivity on many games. And it is a fact that they did get contacted by a PC game store to exclusivity.
Who pays for exclusivity in the form of sold games? What individuals in 2019 have been known for performing such an action? In a market where that is not really done? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm?
It's clearly steam. Gabe promised SNK millions of dollars to make it steam exclusive. But SNK rejected it and are now putting it on steam anyways.
Charles Torres
Ever think it was a mistranslation? Like when you retards made a big deal about what Inafune said about Mighty Number 9.
Nicholas Perry
I can't speak for the current version of those forums, but the previous, sjw or not, was still a place where the occasional game dev or developer secret got leaked. Regardless, what about the twitter post? Who right now is purchasing games for exclusivity in the form of sales?
The Devs getting contacted for exclusivity on a PC store is not an assumption. It's only a process of elimination since no other store purchases exclusive rights to sell games. Especially last min like Epic.
Logan Stewart
>It's not this studio because I'm the CEO of Amazon >It's not valve because I'm gaben >It's not Google because I'm a poo ceo
Well it's epic because I know everything that is going behind the scene
Oh wait I'm a steam drone tranny that uses resetera may may as a source
Do you think I care about mn9? That's possible, but unlikely.
Easton Turner
Also the EPIC deal is compensating for lost sales for not being on Steam, not literally buying copies. Though Steam drones are retards and can't see the difference
Jaxson Gomez
>elimination Thanks to proving my point
Asher Jones
But aren't most of those games only on limited exclusivity? So what's the point in that then?
Levi Long
What does sex with cunny feel like bros?
William Bell
>Coffee Stain’s net sales were SEK 83 million
Which is about $9 million dollar? Hmm with EPIC cut their earnings should be about $26 per unit sold.
They claimed they sold about 500k...so shouldn't it be at least over SEK125? With this much net sales the numbers of unit moved should be about 350k, not 500k as they initially claimed.
Ryder Wright
Go ask the Korean guy and stop trusting resetera brainfart
It's not Amazon because they bought Double Helix years ago and have done fucking nothing with them. They also don't have a store. It's not Valve because Valve has never purchased Exclusives they didn't fund development for. It's not google because google doesn't have a PC games platform that isn't the piece of shit that is Stadia which is confirmed to have no exclusives.
It's Epic by process of elimination since they are Well known for doing this exact fucking thing for the last year.
Robert Ross
>What are taxes r/fuckepic did the math and even these faggots admitted that the sold units are 500kish
Why does Steam get shit on for the industry standard? Why doesn't tims weenie go after Nintendo, Microsoft, Sony, and Apple for the same shit?
Ethan King
I know Epic openly does it and doesn't give a fuck about the consequences it brings to devs, publishers, and consumers.
Josiah Flores
Korean guy clearly wasn't responding to his twitter thread why would he listen to me? Being disrespectful isn't going to change anything that's happening.

>>Steam doesn't buy up exclusivity for games >That you know of, which you don't >But you surely know Epic did it, right? Surely, you could post at least one example. There would have been someone who came forward and said Steam paid for exclusivity by now.
>>IT'S EPIC BECAUSE I SAY SO FUCK YOU EPIC REEEEEE
Look, dude. I get it. You're on the S.S. Steam Monopoly, and you're watching it sink. You got out your buckets and are trying to save it - but it's gonna sink, friend. You just need to accept this fact and that you're only slightly delaying the inevitable
Nothing I said about Amazon, Google, and Steam were false. Unless you can name another Store front that purchases Exclusives at the last second it can't be anyone else but Epic.
Leo Kelly
Posting a Wojak makes automatically wrong. I hope you understand that.
Nothing is fact or truth if it's not coming from multiple independent sources. Epic is ready to play dirty so we'll go with them buying 500k copies from their own store. Wait for playercount stats, player reviews, forums, game scores and everything else, otherwise Tim and his cronies aren't a trustworthy soruce.
I love that reply in general, someone comes in with a completely offtopic GOTCHA type question, full of snide insults and typical drone behaviour. He gives a completely reasonable and logical response... And gets downvote spammed, with no actual arguments or responses from anyone.
well i have many friends on steam and only one underage faggot say he like idea of streaming games but even he doesn't use eipc platform, he played fortnite like for two seasons before epic made their store so i guess it really is ghosts town outside fortnite
this place is too goddamn autistic jezus christ the shitposting and contrarianism never stops
Isaac Thomas
Curation is bad for customers because it means the platform holder gets to choose what the customers want, where as an uncurated system lets anyone get what they actually want. Curation is also bad for smaller devs because unproven projects won't fly and they'll be cut out no matter how good their game is. The only people who want curation are shit devs who are blaming everything but themselves for the game's failure and epic drones who pretend steam has no way of finding games besides digging through everything because it makes them look slightly better.
Nathan Green
The fact that there *is* at least one good game on Steam makes it better than Epic.
Gavin Roberts
Steam used to Curate. Then bitchy indie devs didn't like it. Then they lightened up but shitty indie devs still bitched, Now it's all or nothing and they are still bitching that their shitty shovelware games isn't getting noticed. Ain't steams fault that nobody gives a fuck about bad games.
Thomas Young
>Curation is bad for customers because it means the platform holder gets to choose what the customers want, where as an uncurated system lets anyone get what they actually want.
Which would be great, but Steam has proven that they curate their own store by removing games all the time.
>Ain't steams fault that nobody gives a fuck about bad games.
But it is the fault of Steam drones that they can't recognize good and bad games
>Supporting EGS without being paid is contrarianism.
Well when Yea Forums outright lies about a store (saying it's spyware, etc), are you supposed to just go along with the hivemind and say "EPIC BAD"?
What's that quote about evil if good men doing nothing?
Caleb Baker
I sinecerely hope this person is getting paid.
Xavier Gutierrez
I take it you are the one who made LSDriver. Looks like shit. The first one was greenlit and the second wasn't. Then the removal of the curation allowed anyone to put a game up. When Greenlight was around indie Devs still bitched that thier piles of shit didn't make the Peer review cut. Also Epic ain't going to pick up your Shit indie game anyway. You have to be overwhelmingly popular to even have EPic think about allowing you to touch their shitty empty storefront.
>I take it you are the one who made LSDriver. Looks like shit.
No. I use it as an example of the shit games on Steam that you won't be finding on EGS
Josiah Howard
Jeez, this thread is a mess. This is what happens when jannies and mods refuse to do their job on deleting shill spam garbage, I guess. It's some simple shit. If jannies/mods don't want to follow the rules then why should anons follow them too? Or Yea Forums staff is legit on epic payroll which forbids them to delete such threads on sight even if it's a shitshow.
He's not. You make more off of Steam trading cards than he does shilling Epic. Heck, he even PAYS for various proxies all over the world when he gets banned for the millionth time.
Wyatt Lopez
>David Cage games are on EGS. I thing you will still be finding plenty shit games on EGS.
Henry Robinson
You know, the file names are an easy way to figure out if someone is just joking.
Hey, I hope they brighten up your day a bit. Because people who do shit like this, especially at that frequency, are absolutely miserable human beings. If the attention you get from being an annoying cunt is what gets you through the day, so be it.
Benjamin Williams
Yea Forums is not one person, there are many more accusations from many more sources, EGS is shit for many more reasons. You just brought one and blamed whole Yea Forums for it because you are using shill tactics, fuck off.
>eurogamer.net/articles/2019-03-15-epic-responds-to-accusations-its-launcher-accesses-steam-data-without-permission >Vogel confirmed the Epic Games store uses a tracking pixel, aka tracking.js for the company's Support-A-Creator program, so it can pay creators. He also confirmed the app tracks page statistics. Elsewhere, Vogel confirmed the launcher sends a hardware survey at a regular interval, which, he stressed, is outlined in Epic's privacy policy. >Vogel then confirmed the launcher scans your active processes to prevent updating games currently running, but insisted this information was not sent to Epic. >"The launcher makes an encrypted local copy of your localconfig.vdf Steam file. However information from this file is only sent to Epic if you choose to import your Steam friends, and then only hashed ids of your friends are sent and no other information from the file." >Much of the discontent about the Epic Games store appears to relate to Epic's link with Chinese company Tencent. Tencent, which is one of the biggest game companies in the world, owns a part of the company, and some people are concerned their data may end up in the Chinese government's hands as a result. But Epic boss Tim Sweeney remains in control, Vogel said. >Daniel Vogel, VP of Engineering at Epic Look, Tim's crony swears it's only just that much going on with EGS client, I should believe him! Surely he'd tell us all all that if their client was not exposed.
That's what AoWIII gets for stupifying pretty much the entire fkn game.

I've always thought this should be obvious, I don't know why people here had so much trouble with it.
>non-epic drone pic >high quality with proper photoshop/GIMP skill >epic drone response >low quality fast edit with MS Paint jesus christ, with what kind of cockroaches Yea Forums must deal?
