He's weak because every map is a seize map. You need to getthe weak lord to the throne. Same reason why Marth is weak. If they were like the lords we get now, they could easily solo the whole game.

Seth can solo FE8 on hard, Frederick is good, but Robin is better. In the context of their own games, Seth is better.

They're weak for a good reason. FE 11, 12, and 6 are some of the best for gameplay.

I'm not complaining about their weakness but the reason isn't very good. Marth gets his FE1 stats but there's some major changes (like a weapon triangle, everyone else getting to reclass, much higher enemy stats, etc) which makes him unintentionally weak in FE11. Roy doesn't have a good reason to be weak either, if he had a bit more utility (like leaf) rather than everything being strictly an escort mission the game wouldn't be any worse.

The ironic this is the Binding Blade makes him ridiculously fucking broken for the 15 times he gets to swing it.

The better question is Seth of Ryoma? Both are absolutely nuts.

Seth is an absurd unit by himself, ryoma is only good by virtue of having one of the best weapons in a game where good weapons usually come with absurd downsides.
In either case though, both exist in piss easy games, so it barely matters how broken they are.

Ryoma has a 2 range sword, has crits out the ass, has a 80% avoid, and murder everything with Vantage and Astra after he hits low health. Give him a Kagero as a backpack and he murders even harder.

Ryoma is good but Seth is what happens when your Est started level grinding before the start of the series and only got good level ups.

That works for a character like Leif who isn't very strong and is mandatory but makes up for it some other way (lots of support buffs and bends a game mechanic in his favor by never tiring out) but Roy just becomes a deadweight you drag to the throne for 20 maps before soloing the last 4.

Dropping off in the mid-late game doesn't invalidate their contributions in the early game

The only reason Sigurd doesn't carry as much in chapter 6 is because Forseti exists.

It means that Lyn, Sain, Kent, Wil, and most importantly Florina start off really shitty because they start at level 3-4 compared to the like 8-10 they could have from Lyn mode
Erk also starts at level 1 without Lyn mode but that's less noticable since his combat is good from that level and you never want to leave him out in the open anyway

Cool. What level did you end up promoting your units at? I normally promote ASAP but I'm worried I won't get enough exp that way.
And for the combat rank is there a good place to OHKO enemies and bring that up?

lvl 20 are good for the exp rank also you have to kill so many reinforcements through the game that is not really that hard to level your units
the western isles are good maps for the combat ranks, there are so many steel axe pirates and fighters that you can use for your thiefs to get lvl 20 easily you just have to bring like 20 iron swords

How do you skip Lyn? Every time I start a new game in FE7 it gives me the Lyn tutorial chapters.

If you've unlocked Hector Hard Mode and you start a new game you can choose which Lord to start as on which difficulty.

Marth isn't a weak character. He's just average.
