What do you make of sound test theory? Based on this, there are two possible things that could happen for the remaining fighters. Either there are two fighters left and only one of them has an alt costume with a different voice, or there are three characters left and they're going to surprise us with a bonus character. Which do you think it will be, and who do you think it will be that could fit that criteria? For example I suppose even if Doomguy had both classic and modern costumes he wouldn't have a changed voice or anything so he wouldn't need two slots. Not that I'm saying it's going to be Doomguy but I know he's a popular choice.
Either way, it seems like this indicates there's not going to be any more characters. We've got two or three more characters coming and that's it.
Any theory that is just "there's gonna be this many fighters so the select screen looks neat" is fucking retarded. Box theory at least had a limit. Guess we're gonna get 3 more DLC characters for Wii U then.
That CSS does look pretty good organizationally, you have the three clones in one corner without any of them spilling over into the next row and then the entire bottom row is third parties, DLC, and the Miis. It's very neat, but it's just that some people think a CSS can only be neat if it's a perfect square. Though, funnily enough, the CSS actually will be a perfect square with all 5 DLC characters, if you don't create any Miis. But it's not like a perfect square was ever the goal, Melee and Brawl certainly had plenty of empty space.
Also, man, those renders look REALLY bad compared to the Ultimate ones. It's funny, I thought Smash 4 looked good when it came out but now that we have Ultimate it looks really rough. It shows you just how much of an improvement Ultimate actually is, not just a mere port of 4.
