For me it's Mick Gordon's DOOM 2016 original soundtrack.
Which game has the best soundtrack?

Respectable, but for me it's gotta be Suda51 and Masafumi Takada's magnum opus.
His GDC talk about making the D44M OST is great.

Whoops, that's the OST. here's the GDC talk.

ez thread, shut it down
the ost got pretty boring by the end. there's game with ost that have great music and variety
I genuinely think Dante's DMC5 battle theme is hype as fuck and fits the tone perfectly
Not with that battle theme.
The original Mass Effect always makes me happy.

Also, I love Mick's Prey 2017 soundtrack, though I wish a lot of the tracks were longer, they're quite short for how good they are.
Deus Ex Mankind Divided is one of the best ambient soundtracks I've ever listened too as well, pure kino for just having it play in the background while you do other stuff.
Mankind Divided had great atmosphere considering how boring and sterile Prague was visually.
But DOOM 2016's soundtrack was really mediocre. Theres like 2 tracks in the whole game that anyone actually remembers after playing it, the rest is forgettable background noise. There's not nearly enough metal either. The soundtracks of the original Doom's were all completely metal inspired, with all of the tracks being midi knockoffs of Metallica, Pantera, Slayer etc., and DOOM 2016's ost is full of wubwub garbage. Even in the 2 good tracks in DOOM 2016 that feature heavy metal guitar riffs, theres still a bunch of wub going on behind them. It really makes me wonder why this OST is so highly praised. Are standards really that low?
>nudoom
>best soundtrack
You seem to have misspelled WORST soundtrack.
Donkey Kong Country
Grand Theft Auto Vice City
His Killer Instinct work was alot better
>DOOM 2016's ost is full of wubwub garbage
>"We definitely hear a synthesizer — this is bullshit. These guys suck, they’re faggots, let’s kick their ass"
>DOOM 2016
what a literal shitty game that only redditards who think its so le retro like. its trash. new one looks like it morphed even gayer into a call of duty game and a mario rip off with le epik ftw 1-ups
I tried to read your post but all i heard in my mind was a long wheezing queef.
There's no 'best', but there certainly are all-time greats, like;
Medievil Resurrection (original ost redone by a Prague orchestra with better arrangements in certain parts)

Machinarium is kino electronic music

Silent Hill 4 is Yamaoka's favorite work, probably because it's an exciting mix of rock and experimental

Splinter Cell Chaos Theory. Amon Tobin made something truly special

Mirror's Edge (+Catalyst). Both of Solar Fields score for the games are ambient heaven, with the latter having a 5-hour run time that hits a lot of the notes of the original score and more. The original has some straight bangers too.

Are rhythm games allowed?

Anything scored by Falcom is far and away better than Doom 2016.
oh yes, OHhhhh yEesssssssssssss
Yes, but only if they're Gitaroo Man.

Transistor. Not only is it good and unique, they tie it into the game beautifully.
My black brethren.
Grasslands theme is good too.
Say what you will about the game itself but Bear McCreary's score is fucking aces in it from start to finish
Why are the best tracks on OST's always the shortest?

how did they come up with master pieces like this
Weird. The song is heavily derivative of at least one other piece I've heard in a few movies whenever there's a 16th century town fair going on or something, but it still sounds wonderful.
You're welcome.
Shadowbringers is pretty on point with it's soundtrack.

Fuck off ACnigger
Outstanding choice Mr. Smith
Besides Splinter Cell I wouldn't have thought of the rest of these but it's clear you have gud taste, user. I recommend the rest of Tobin's work too, he has a consistent style he's remixed many times.
That's Mick Gordon? He looks young for his age.
I liked DOOM ost ingame but it's not that great. Outside Rip n Tear and BFG Division it's meh. It's actually Mick's tamest job, while Killer Instinct got SO MUCH SOUL

Because he was allowed to go full variety with KI.
Doom 4 is the typical AAA problem where they try to adopt film score practices of having the BGM be pure "background dressing", a practice that is criticised fairly regularly in 90 minute films, nevermind 8 hour long games.

One of the best in recent memory, shame the newer tracks never got a formal release.
Skyrim doesn't even have the best soundtrack in it's own series
