MGS4
this
Played this strange game when I was a little boy
I remember liking the room with the fruit where he burp and a monster
And those slidy puzzles
You watched the stream too, huh?
I played the game on ScummVM a while back and saw Vinny try it out yesterday. Doesn't seem like much of a streamer's game regardless, especially since he kept getting spoiled by the chat
The neverhood has one of the best endings ever, wtf you talking about
>Klogg being mysterious up until the final sections
>Full "movie" builds him up as a real big baddie
>Finally meet Klogg in person
>It's a 15 second cutscene where he decides with little explanation to crown you as king
>Good or bad ending, he gets knocked out fairly quickly
I just thought there'd be more than that.
>good game shit ending
Qube 2
>bad game good ending
Mk11*
Klogg's kind of a chump, I guess. His boss fight in the sequel is pretty lame and it's not even the game's final challenge
youtube.com
klogg was never built up to be anything other than the necesarry bad guy for the story, you expected a big baddie final fight or something in a fucking adventure game? it did not occur to you that the series of puzzles before him was the "final boss" of the game?
the entire segment after that where Hoborg builds you a bunch of friends and then brings back robot bill and willy is one of the best and most heartwarming scenes in any game ever, fuck you for saying it was bad you fucking zoomer
>klogg was never built up to be anything other than the necesarry bad guy for the story, you expected a big baddie final fight or something in a fucking adventure game?
I mean, he was the necessary bad guy, after all. It's kind of expected.
>it did not occur to you that the series of puzzles before him was the "final boss" of the game?
Are you talking about the castle puzzles? Because they were quite literally the easiest ones in the game.
>the entire segment after that where Hoborg builds you a bunch of friends and then brings back robot bill and willy is one of the best and most heartwarming scenes in any game ever, fuck you for saying it was bad you fucking zoomer
He doesn't bring back Bil and Willie. Even in-universe, that's impossible. He uses life seeds to create new people in the likeness of Bil and Willie. Which delves into the whole "if a clone of you has all the memories that you have, is it really a clone?" philosophical thing
You're just making shit up. Hoborg is Jesus level and made a whole planet. He can do whatever the plot requires of him.
Machinarium.
>easiest puzzles in the game
I cannot recall a single person I have ever seen that beat the mouse one without looking it up.
The last ring puzzle is also confusing as fuck unless you randomly get it right.
>He doesn't bring back Bil and Willie. Even in-universe, that's impossible. He uses life seeds to create new people in the likeness of Bil and Willie.
what the fuck are you talking about, proof? Willie was not even fucking dead from what i remember and robot bill is just a robot, it sounds like you are literally making complete nonsense up you fucking schizo, play less weebshit
Machinarium had a perfect ending aswell, what was your problem with it?
just what did you expect exactly?
>what the fuck are you talking about, proof?
Willie and the original Bil fall off the Neverhood into space.
The Neverhood ending was kino tho.
that still does not prove shit
Agree. MGS4 is like shitty fan fiction. And that exactly what it is for me.
I think it needed more closure, I guess? They just leave the city and we don't know where they go.
ollyollyollyollyolly hee hee heeeeeeeeeeeeeeheeeeeheee
Yeah, but Hoborg brought them back at the end.
you absolute brainlets are posting some of the best game endings ever as shitty and when asked for explanation you blurt out "I dunno, this one unimportant aspect of it was not utterly catering to my expectations". Fuck you and your mother.
It does not matter where the fuck they go. They leave the city, the baddies are fucked, everything got explained by based grandpa robot and you leave with the cute robot girl. The future is in the stars, where they go is a mystery, showing their next location would murder the whole fucking point.
Just what do you think are some games with actually good endings? Just as a heads up so i know what zoomer shit to avoid
A lot of them, dude
He made a new Willie and a new Bil, you hear the life seeds getting used and Bill has a fresh head and tie. The original Willie and Bil are still out there somewhere, dropping through space.
Danganronpa V3. And before die-hard fans call me a brainlet, my issue is with the execution, not the substance. It goes on forever and repeats the same points over and over again. It could've been way more well-written and concise.
What the FUCK is the soundtrack and what other music like it is out there, for the love of god I need more
so Hoborg made new characters from the life seeds but somehow made them look exactly the same and somehow gave them memories of klayman through the life seed? that makes no fucking sense
I'd say you're overthinking it.
I'm just saying what happens in the game, man.
Hoborg's just a guy who makes stuff, not a guy who brings people back after falling off a planet.
Still, for all intents and purposes they're Willie and Bil.
Oh yeah totally, but I like the idea that the originals are out there somewhere, doing cool Willie and Bil stuff in the depths of clay space.
I don't know if there's "more" exactly, but have this. mega.nz
This is honestly the most discussion I have ever seen for The Neverhood.
tis a shame claymation is such an uncommon medium in general
I would like to see more stuff in cutout animation, the style of Fantastic Planet.
Vinny might be a knobhead who couldn't puzzle solve his way out of a paper bag with the end open and signs saying "THIS WAY OUT" but at least he gets people interested in things.
This game creeps me out on a deep primal level that i can't explain. Is it supposed to read as a christian allegory?
>Is it supposed to read as a christian allegory?
Yes actually.
Yes, it's literally based off the bible
I got nothing personal against the guy, but Doug TenNapel is the kind of christie that puts a mad monkey scientist in his game to make fun of evolution. So yes, it very much a Christian allegory.
you have not been on Yea Forums for long.
just make a thread if you want to see more discussion of it.
I'm fine with mocking people you don't like as long as you make it funny and entertaining.
something Yea Forums has forgotten completely, so it seems
Glad to see the Vinesauce stream brought in contrarians
That's the dual edge to streamers and e-celebs, good games get more exposure and those same good games get dickheads who hate the game just because X played it.
Yes. TenNapel is a massive jesus freak.
That being said, it's not SUPER tied to biblical references. Like it's clearly an echo of some of its themes but it doesn't go full BIBLE GOOD or BIBLE BAD
Is this skull monkeys? I played that so much as a kid and no one I've spoken to has ever heard of it
It's the game before Skullmonkeys.
Skullmonkeys is a sequel to The Neverhood
it's been stuck in my head all fucking day
send help
huh, I should have figured after getting halfway through the hall of records that it was a literal retelling of the christian mythos but for some reason i thought that that was just a facade since the 90's was so 'atheist woke' with Doom and Satan worship as the norm.
Sad that a game would never be made since religion has become a punching bag for liberals.
>gen 3 remaster
> no postgame content from emerald
He's probably talking about the "drain" gag ending.
Where can i buy it/ emulate it I've heard of it before
Find yourself an ISO and use ScummVM.
It's on PC, but you'll need ScummVM or something to run it.
Hoborg is actually a god, normal rules don't apply. There is no 'the prestige' style twist there.
>EA owns the neverhood
Out of all the companies, why them?
Thanks guys, have a doggo
Listen to Ween my dude

>answered this eight minutes ago
Doug what the hell man.
I'll take it but jesus what's he doing up so late?
>"God is dead." - Nietzsche "Nietzsche is dead." - God
Yikes, how can people STILL not get Nietzsche
Yeah, it was a little too much. Also,
>It goes on forever and repeats the same points over and over again
>Retards still can't get it
