my fleet so far how can I better expand it?
By not using Diable ships lul
are they really worse than vanilla ships? How good are neutrino?
Are those mod factions?
>Genocide outpost
Plz explain
Why the fuck does anyone get mad when I bomb the shit out of pirates?
I kind of understand the independents, but hege-big-money and ludicrous church? Literally why?
Let the scum die.
>all those factions
why
They're colonies under pirate control
Not colonies literally composed of nothing but pirates with a bounty on them
>find a paragon and 2 XIV Battlegroup Legions within the first hour of a new save
it's gonna be a good run I think
>church gets mad about bombings
>church does this on the side
I went into this game completely blind and I'm starting to run into some problems now that I've amassed some stuff. I feel like I'm constantly hemorrhaging supplies. Per day its only like 2.5-3 but chasing down bounties with emergency burns or clipping into a storm is so costly it hardly feels like I'm making progress and my hulls need to be filled to the gills with supplies just to go anywhere close to the outer reaches. IDK if I should be trimming back my fleet or what. Also, bounty difficulty seems to have exploded out of nowhere, everything is suddenly 150k+ credit rewards and its usually to kill what I'm guessing are rogue commanders that are packing multiple battleships and shit.
My fleet is a 2 wolves, a tempest, and 2 afflictors that I either use for easier fights and/or punching holes through things in bigger battles. I have a mora, shrike, hammerhead, sunder, and falcon I use in the tougher fights, usually with the hammerhead and maybe one of the other big boys on escort duty for the mora. Dram and mudskipper are in there from the tutorial still, think I'm just gunna sell them. Nothing nearly strong enough to safely take on the new bounties so I've been doing survey missions and pirate bounties that pay per frigate to stay afloat.
>chasing down bounties with emergency burns or clipping into a storm
3/3 safety procedures to solve both of these
If you're not using a ship, store it in the siphon station by the gas giant in Yma
get a frieghter/tanker/salvage rig, invest exp points into salvaging/navigation/fleet logistics so you lose less supplies/fuel also try to do exploration and check out the bars at every planet to make quick ez money from cargo contracts
I really like the vulture it has everything I want in a cruiser anyone else try it out?
where the fuck can i find modspecs. stores typically have like 1 shitty modspec max
I like my galaxy cramped and chaotic in the centre.
I will try that, thanks.
How do I buy 200 units of something without shift clicking 200 times?
hold shift dummy
thank you
>Bounty posted says target has a podunk fleet and five other ships with her at most
>As soon as I approach get jumped by a second fleet with even more ships than the targets, and is full of cruisers
I've been had.
Anybody know the exact methodology behind how research stations are spawned? I know about checking black holes/nebula gas giants/neutron stars, I'm trying to find more after I exhausted all those in my current sector.
Is it normal for a vengeance fleet to spawn every time I order a tactical bombardment?
I only just started playing today and I'm lost but having a lot of fun. How is a game with this much content only 400mb?
exploration missions will generate new ones
Do you mean only 'analyze research station' missions? Those seem to be incredibly rare.
The early ship of diable is a fucking glass. But the larger ones has a phase skimmer like the one that the wolf ship has. Basically the modder doesnt know how to balance so they just make every ship in the mod fragile.
any domain era probe/survey ship mission respawns shit in the system
After all these years i've just noticed you can see his eyes through the glasses.
holy shit
Ive been managing pretty well so far with their mid tier ships do they get good late game?
How's the Pandemonium?
>Swadimony
>Sarranid Diktat
>Persean Khanate
>Tri-Vaegirs
>Rhodok Church
Which one of these sugar daddies did you pick Yea Forums?
Well my run is over boys. Bounty hunters too strong.
Don't forget your delivery contracts :(
bruh
is this one good?
M y v I s I o N I S a U g m E N t E D
Needs higher hazard rating
Sea Raiders
BASED
Also I picked none.
Just like in M&B I bought businesses and saved enough money to start my own kingdom. In SS I took on bounties and explore contracts until I had my own colony, and played it safe until I was strong enough to use all the AI cores and had unreasonable defenses and fleet power projection.
is joining a faction worth it
do you want to be hated by all of that faction's enemies and retain this rep even after leaving the faction
If i recall there are two ship, if youre referring the one that looks like two capitals sewn together. Id say it was decent cause its a bit faster than the other capitals, but worse in term of firepower compared to onslaught and conquest. It got a minor flight deck so It pretty much complements the flaws.
I think the design is very cool, but I kinda ditched it in favor of the imperium dicknuke
by using only mecha and weapons from diable and using carriers from dassault because their F gives fighters/mecha a damage boost.
the shitty thing is that they should not be attacking me without risking war if I'm still in that current faction
You get lunch money mothly, they pay you even if you do absolutely nothing. The cons is that all the other faction except independents may refuse to trade with you
Not if you do What does higher hazard rating do other than negative effects? Are you being sarcastic or does it make raiding it harder or something?
Switch over to doing exploration/surveying, take analyze missions and explore star systems around where that takes you. Kill derelicts/pirates/scavangers you find along the way for fun on the side. Find a few research stations for loot and decent planets then set up a colony
and it gets more when you plug in the like 20 faction mods that add in new weapons ships and systems.
Not him, but I bought it to deal with pirates attacking my deliveries. Very tanky, slug fests is his game, can teleport in and out for better positioning and with a slightly more ordnance points, it will be perfect. That is, till I deal with dooms or phasers, which was just now. Lost my whole fleet to these guys and currently thinking ways to combat them.
Personally, I like the daze cruiser the most. Micro missiles (despite the 90% miss rate) and Cowboy Bebop design and all. But those died instantly to phasers as well.
Now THIS is a high quality mod
Is it worth recovering an Apogee with structural damage, unreliable subsystems and glitched sensor array if it would only be my second cruiser?
I wish this thing wasn't so shit. I really like the colors.
Looks good, is this a vanilla+ mod or is it anime-tier game-braking?
I was being sarcastic user, its a silly OP mod. The ship at the bottom left is about thrice the size of an onslaught
>diable
>not using their wanzer fighters
literally the only reason to use diable ships is because they look cool and have good fighters
Most of them are.
>and retain this rep even after leaving the faction
lmao what the fuck?
looks good
what about the other planets in the system? anything usable?
found this in another constellation
>giant ass pirate fleet can just fuck around in hegemony controlled space without consequence
>I have to go dark to just get around them
>fucking hegemony patrol spots my ass and makes sure to ticket me instead of leaving me alone
FUCK HEGEMONY AND FUCK PIRATES
I'll beat the game legit vanilla first before I start putting in mods.
nah the first one you posted is better, especially for mining
The reason I ask is because once you build a patrol HQ or military base in a system, it'll protect the entire system. So having multiple colonies in the same system is a great idea
As much as I want to see that, I’m ashamed it’s a meme mod
>cheap deployment cost
>downside doesn't matter if you use shitty throwaway wings
>still has destroyer-tier levels of freighter space
It's not that bad desu, it's not amazing, but it's not useless
'ashamed' isnt the correct word to use in this situation ESL-kun
Can someone help me out with this question I asked, I really wanna know.
That guys mistyped or is meming you, you ALWAYS want lower hazard
ill check it tomorrow but i don't think so, whats the minimum the secondary planets should have? just a +1 and
ESL?
I’m having real sleep deprived brainlet hours right now
english second language
random name, seen it in my game aswell
Damn. It would be kind of cool if there was some silver lining.
And maybe a colony management perk that negates certain hazard ratings so you can actually have it benefit you in certain situations.
literally anything is fine for same system colonies
I'd say below 200% hazard and at least one worthwhile resource. Your colonies do trade with each other so you can outsource something like refining for instance
>building mining and heavy industry on planet 1
>build refinery on planet 2
>planet 1 sends the ores to planet 2, they refine it to metals and then send it back to be used in the heavy industry
This can work at quite a distance, not just same system colonies.
It was my third, yea.
Do you guys ever use ships with less than 10 or 8+2 burn speed? There is a hull mod that allows you to add 2 to the maximum burn speed but it's not worth it on anything you're going to use in active combat and is pretty much only usable on freighters and support ships. But anything with a 7 burn speed or lower I just can't make sense of, you'll never be able to catch anything and everything with 10 burn speed will be able to catch you immediately it also make travel take that much longer and if you keep it that way it'll really add up overtime.
A higher Hazard Level makes you stronger.
just use tugs, they increase your fleets burn
Hazard rating is an upkeep multiplier. 100% hazard rating is 1x multiplier to upkeep, while 150% is a 1,5x multiplier. You can figure out the rest.
Nice. I have a set of two planets that work with each other so my faction is self reliant 100%. I try to have as many adjacent manufacturing processes on one planet though.
I'm running an onslaught with degraded engines so yeah
Just be prepared to fight off invasions once your market share of certain resources gets big enough, or the luddic path decides to pay you a visit for building industries. Can't go wrong with rushing out an orbital first thing
But then you're wasting ship slots on tugs when those could just be more 10 or 8+2 burn speed carriers/freighters/support ships/ect.
I have a 9 max regular burn and I outrun most fleets my size... 10 seems likes it’s unneeded, like you can still catch 90% of all fleets I guarantee.
Oh yea max level high tech station underway, heavy batteries, planetary shield, and patrol HQ on both planets. No military HQ cuz I need the slots but think they’re not needed with the rest of the OP shit right?
Have you guys modded your battle size? 500 seems too limiting, supplies be damned.
you can't beat the game. It's kind of like mountain blade where you fuck around for 100 hours until you get bored with the lack of endgame.
Just interdict bro, if your fleet has above 1000 sensor strength, your interdiction will always work and then you can catch those cockroaches by burning your fuel
yeah i doubled the supplies and increased the fleet size for everyone up to 50
Don’t cut me with your Mountain blade
The game has no win state?
the difference between a patrol HQ and high command is pretty huge
patrol HQ fields 2 small "fleets" regardless of colony size
meanwhile a high command...
starsector.fandom.com
actually gets you fleets
I'd upgrade at least one of the patrol HQs so they can fight off invasions themselves and won't need to rely on the orbital except in last case scenarios
I wish someone could just make the Outlaw Star as a mod for the game.
No campaign isn't finished, beating the game is being able to kill the 3+ battleship remnant fleets. mods add in harder dindu and an actual super hard endgame faction but thats about it.
No the Apogee sucks
they already have mecha with working melee weapons so grappler arms are within the realm of possibility.
>3+ survey/data missions all appear in the same quadrant
Is there any better feeling?
getting an syncho and perfect nano in the same cargo pull
I just want to fly through space in the OS blaring pic related while in combat
youtube.com
Does it work for every colony or just the one you made it for?
Salvaging a perfect condition Astral
Whoops, meant to say vid related
just the system you made it in, though depending on the mods, you can order a fleet to follow you for a bit and order invasions/raids from your own market
You can still bombard all of your enemies desu! You can also install nexerelin and invade planets like a proper m&b game
How many Military HQs would be unstoppable? I can make a 3rd pure military world... 2 or 3 HQs?
finding 600 deep space frozen lobsters that have kept fresh for hundreds of years due to no oxygenation

i took the dumb every mod from the factions list into the game pill. Tbh its pretty fucking neet, hmi is broken because you can print about 4 million credits in 30 minutes sitting in mercy sector but with the 8 battleship 12 capital carriers pirate fleets flying around your gonna need that dosh
You can only build one of each building per planet
Two high commands in the same system would probably beat everything save for a big redacted invasion, maybe even that
Out of curiosity what are the ships armaments?
two arms
two forward missile pods that can fire a single salvo each
at least one ballistic weapon for the arm and a ballistic weapon under the nose
Its main feature are its twin grappler arms which can be used for punching/grabbing but in combat were usually used with either its axe or machinecannon. Outside of that it has multiple missile bays that it can fire large salvos from, but tends not to as missiles are quite expensive to replace. It also has a nosecone gun.
In terms of firepower there's not much there, it's a pretty small ship all things considered. The reason people want it is because it was built with the most advanced navigation system in the galaxy.
Ignore him, Diable are good.
The problem is that people cant into understanding missiles or fighters in this game so they fail miserably at using their ships.
forgot the pic
note, that in universe it is the fastest ship and comes with a humanoid ai navigation system.
Yea I meant like another planet just to have another slot while adding one more to my main two. My priority is all industry but after that the rest is max military. So I might need another world in order to do all industry plus 2 HQs.
>two blackholes right next to a yellow star with a few habitable planets in the area
what the fuck
their weapons are good on other ships, the ships are asthetically pleasing but are usually shit for the cost per month. For example the light carrier they have has two slots and costs like 11 supply a month, the active ability is negligable. You could just take a Dassault carrier that has the same two slots, only costs 9 supply a month and has an active ability that increases fighter or mecha damage for like 6 seconds. I love flying diable ships but they are shit shit balance wise compared to even the vanilla ships besides maybe the high end carrier
The Maw Installation?
>dassault
Stopped reading there
anyone know the console command for increasing rep with factions?
Sounds like one comfy system
>supply a month
>caring about supply cost in a game with infinite money
Wew, case and point, a wild shitter is spotted
Been trying to do an early start running diable only and god damn I hate trying to gain favor with them when they start a -10.
This morphing shit is just too cool even if it is borderline useless
it uses big dick powers to end the fight as fast as it can, Maelstrom is god tier though and can be built to do anything
setrelation faction value
E.g. setrelation independents 51
Type help in the console, or help and then a command to learn about shit.
your taste is shit, i'm running whitebase with red mecha and you can't stop me faglord.
>Been trying to do an early start running diable only and god damn I hate trying to gain favor with them when they start a -10.
Do exploration and turn in AI cores, its free standing.
One of the issues I have found with the mods is that their ships/weapon systems dont seem to be put up for sale properly. There seems to be some mechanic where stores calculate what they stock based off what your fleet and level is. When you have multiple capital ships and you're level 50 suddenly you start seeing lots of really good weapons and ships everywhere, but when you start out its a clusterfuck of low tier crap.
This is a killer for mods because if they don't have lots of low tier stuff, you're stuck trying to make their ships work through the early, mid and late game with rubbish until you get your level/fleet size up. I used cheats to have a look at all the diable weapons and was surprised at all this stuff I have never seen before, because it wont spawn in until you've already played for tens of hours, but its not that overpowered but does make their ships far more viable. Neut Corp is one of the worst offenders, you literally cannot get their ships until you have a massive fleet.
So yeah, Diable come off as really shit because you cant get any of their weapons on their ships. But actually once you have everything they are top tier. Maelstrom is a beast with the proper loadout.
How do you get a ship/weapon/blueprint package to start showing up in the places that they usually do?
>Lost my whole fleet to these guys and currently thinking ways to combat them.
Lots and lots of cheap fighters. Remnant bombers/fighters combo absolutely obliterate phase fleets because they sit on top of the phase until it decloaks, then it cant do anything but rephase and overload or get smacked in the face.
>places that they usually do
clarify. research stations? have salvaging 3/3. faction planets? just keep raiding.
Your taste is shit, Dassault is overpowered as fuck
No, I mean how do I get them to show up in-game the first place? I did a hackjob update to a mod that the author for vanished, but I can't quite figure out how to get the blueprints to show up as drops.
Not him but those white ships dont fit the aesthetic at all. Ugly as fuck.
I fucking hate the Draft frigates, and actually fuck the Vapor too, they both suck dicks. Mostly everything else is at least cool enough to keep around, even if something else might be better/cheaper. Been playing this fucking game for years so having some fresh new ships to play with is nice besides any vanilla additions.
Also yeah Wanzers are dope.
They're not pixel art, that's why.
Yeah, been reading around and this seems to be the preferred method in sinking them. Gonna buy another dassault carrier and maybe 3 wolves as escorts.
Are there any weapons to hit ships while in phase?
Using OP weapons is the same amount of fun as typing “nuke” into the console commands.
Wolves suck, get Omens
Abandoned stations have their loot generated at sector creation, you will need to get the blueprints from other sources of drops, like raiding the appropriate colonies, or, with mods, from Prism Freeport or Vesperon Combine dossiers.
Or cheat them in with Console Commands.
>This is a killer for mods because if they don't have lots of low tier stuff, you're stuck trying to make their ships work through the early, mid and late game with rubbish until you get your level/fleet size up.
I see a lot of Diable weapons in Diable space but its always the low rank ibis and revolver thing and rarely the big dual laser. I like their point defense options early game but I tend to stick with shit like Phase Lance for much of the early game if I can get my hands on one, it's just too good for instakilling the small things but I do agree there needs to be more early game incentives for a lot of mods but I guess that's not very "fun" for people designing fancy capitals.
I think you're misunderstanding me.
I know where you can get blueprints, I need to know how you get the game to generate said blueprints in the first place. I figured out how to make a blueprint package that has all the weapons/ships from the mod, but it doesn't ever actually show up anywhere.
is this the most expensive single item?
>4 of these vs 1 battlestation
No they're ugly as shit is what they are. The color scheme conflicts with the entire setting.
Isn't the shield generator worth 1.7 million?
Pretty sure paragon blueprints cost more
>Are there any weapons to hit ships while in phase?
No.
Your best bet is very cheap flux weapons which can hit them instantly, since their ships keep phasing in and out you want them to rotate and keep the pressure on so they cant breath.
It doesnt take much to take down a phase, but if you only use slow heavy weapons you wont hit them.
A fleet of ships with 360 degree beam cover and fighters is probably the best counter you can get. The Imperium ships are also quite good because they have nice low flux weapons that fire continuously.
Ok. Still, I will get the wolves as they have a proven track record when I just started out.
Can you test first if said BP package actually is a valid item?
Try Gulf-Class
console command it in if you want a bunch
>the low rank ibis and revolver thing
Man these two weapons are amazing together. They are my go-to for basically every ship.
If you want to know true brokenness, find the mod which lets small slot weapons target fighters/missiles regardless of whether its point defense or not and use nothing but revolvers. You spray out bullets at everything melting it instantly.
Wolves dab on pirates but they themselves get obliterated at the first sign of a real cruiser
Paragon costs 780k
I've already tested that before, it functions perfectly normally as far as I can tell. Gives me all the relevant blueprints, I can produce them at my colonies, sell them to whoever, etc. Only thing it doesn't do is actually spawn in normally.
>Are there any weapons to hit ships while in phase?
Yeah
Harbinger's Interdiction, have fun
seeing everyone talk about Diable has me curious what weapons/ships/fighters are good and which are dogshit?
most of their ships are shit.
Vapor is okay. I found one good loadout for it that actually works:
Recson V and Phase Lance in medium slots
2x single launch torpedoes of your choice in small slots
Heavy armor mod
Maybe something else, but I forget. You should have 8 or 9 in venting and capacitors.
After this if you put a decent pilot into the vapor it won't die unless it gets surrounded/overwhelmed. Without a pilot it'll sometimes push its luck a bit too far.
> mod which lets small slot weapons target fighters/missiles regardless of whether its point defense or not
Oh shiiiiit, is it toggleable with autofire like PD are?
It's a very style over substance deal with Diable, and in a way you can consider it balanced by way of you being at a slight disadvantage by specializing in them but their big ships are fun as hell and the bonus CR length is something I desperately need as I drag out fights way too long.
>Oh shiiiiit, is it toggleable with autofire like PD are?
Yes
starsector.fandom.com
Its amazing and makes my dick very hard. You become immortal to all missiles and never need a single slot wasted on PD.
Holy fuck thank god there's a thread here
I was getting lonely
What happens if I steal the blue waifu chip for myself? I heard bounty hunters but is it forever or just one?
>find legion class carrier with 3 d mods
Should I scuttle or recover it? 3 d mods feels nasty
Does anyone know where to find this ship?
I know it's diable but I can't find it anywhere.
How do you have fun while piloting a carrier?
Thanks man. Bummer that you can't hit ships while in phase. Came across those damn phases a few times before. Melted them with my twin lasers the moment it went out of phase. But when they come in a huge fleet with 4 carriers in tow, my whole fleet sinks. I will spend some time buying and refitting ships using your advice.
I am biased and I like wolves.
Is this in vanilla? At work, can't check.
>What happens if I steal the blue waifu chip for myself? I heard bounty hunters but is it forever or just one?
I think its just a one time thing, but I have literally never seen them ever.
There is no reason to hand in the chip.
press tab and switch control over to one of your frigates, that's how.
desu that just seems like cheating to me
>factions mods are OP compared to vanilla
>install a shitload of OP faction mods
>new factions become the main bois while vanilla factions become the sub-faction
It always felt weird how pirates could fight organized miltary anyways.
Its the Maelstrom, their best ship, super common, go to one of their two diable systems.
Yes, Harbringer is a relatively rare phase ship
To be fair its rare as all hell to find and costs 4/8/12/20 so its not cheap.
The Cruiser not he Capital.
I've already got a Pandemonium which is like two Maelstroms strapped together.
One more question, can I buy them?
I didn't but it gave me a hard time in a fight earlier by being faster than my destroyers
Is this a decent build so far, or am I an idiot?
By piloting a Legion.
Gee I wonder if people being pissed when you commit war crimes is normal
By not having HD texture bloat. File size and content aren't linked, it's mostly always textures/3D models taking most of it.
I played Pikmin when I was younger
You should have maxed these skills first
Also, always max a skill unless its tier 3 is worthless. You didnt max sensors, or the additional ship points, or even take scavenger the most important ability in the game.
imagine being one of those gunners
>oh wow there's buncha cylons coming
>jimbo it's your turn to man the flak turret, good luck buddy
>*shoves you inside the cockpit*
>*seals hatch behind you*
Of course
>having barrels which move with recoil in space
LITERALLY useless.
>there's no action-reaction in space
are you okay retard?
Perfect. You have my gratitude.
>industry
>sensors
>navigation
Yikes
>wanting all the gun stresses piped straight into your hull
>what is accuracy
????
I've been playing with diable for a long time so here's my autist sperglord experience with them:
Weapons: Recson V, Recson S, State Support Beam, Uhlan Siege Laser, Bachdel PD Laser, Banish Torpedoes are all good
Most of the rest of the weapons are either okayish or outright terrible.
Vapor can be good if you can fit it well enough - but it still dies if something sneezes on it wrong, even as skittish as it is
You can basically forget about every other frigate or destroyer, they all suck
The storm is a very good carrier
The gust is also decent
I never used haze or daze because they look fucking ugly
Maelstrom is probably the best ship in the diable lineup, the flicker core is extremely good
Diable's wanzers are where the mod starts getting OP, I personally found the zephyr to be the best. Most of the wanzers range from "heavy fighter" to "frigate pretending to be a strikefighter" in capability.
Generally if you want to do well with diable ships you need to load them up with wanzers and use the wanzer gantry bonuses. The ships are basically balanced around having OP wanzers to front all the damage and absorb hits, which is probably why half the diable ships and weapons suck so bad
>A fucking 50% world
>With both ores too
>And domain comm relay in system
>It's in a fucking corner of the sector with -14% accessibility penalty
This is for sure gayest thing that can happen in this game.
Textures and uncompressed audio
meshes are very small, take up basically no space really
>action-reaction
>in a void
Im sorry you failed basic physics but please dont grace us with your stupidity
The force is literally equal and
>accuracy
>in a fucking void
user, dont try to explain science to these idiots. Only the other day a SS thread nearly got ruined by idiots not understanding that FTL travel is literally science fiction and not realistic.
Just ignore them.
What's wrong with industry and sensors?
I didn't confirm. I have 13 points total so I think I will max repairs, safety, and maybe sensors as well as points into loadout.
>scavenge
Why bother? I sell shit for money. Looking for abandoned crap is too much work.
>>action-reaction
>>in a void
>Im sorry you failed basic physics but please dont grace us with your stupidity
You are actually retarded aren't you
>Why bother? I sell shit for money. Looking for abandoned crap is too much work.
Because it affects all scavenging you do and is the only way to increase rare drops, which is literally the best way to make money in the game.
>Im sorry you failed basic physics but please dont grace us with your stupidity
Tell me, genius. Where do rocket motors get their thrust from if action-reaction doesn't exist in space?
>apples and oranges
You tried, but the samefag gave you away.
>there’s no recoil in spa-
No wait, this is bait.
>apples and oranges
Thrust is by definition a reaction force you drooling retard.
retard
Not him but if you output 100 units of force in one direction firing from a ship, a moving barrel will not mitigate that force in any shape or form. You have to pass that entire force to the ship, moving it the other way.
A sliding barrel like in that webm achieves literally nothing, a static barrel would have an identical amount of force moving the ship.
NASA and the USSR already did this stuff, cannons were not very practical because of the force you put back on the ship.
>what is alcubierre
You need to be optimistic about the future user, it’s not completely a meme yet since we have all the math for one already. Fusion energy seems more impossible at temperature ranges accessible to humans given the laws of our universe than FTL.
Literally smoothbrain. How does a chemical propulsion rocket work again?
Industry is worthless past the early game, even in salvage only runs. Sensors make it easier to hide which isn't hard to begin with.
Okay. How about this? Without allocating anything I have 1 in safety, 1 in recovery, and 2 in repairs. 13 points to spend. I want to get rid of those D modifiers because my fleet is mostly salvaged junk.
>comparing a missile, to the issue of having a moving cannon barrel on a space ship
Apples and oranges, or in your case dumb and dumber.
The other big problem here would be heat dissipation, without air those cannons would get hot and stay hot, they don't lose heat via convection like they would in an atmosphere. They'd still radiate heat but that's not going to keep them cool enough to fire like that.
This is another reason why everyone in sci-fi always uses lasers in space. It's not just about the recoil.
Stop it, you're going to spend 3 hours trying to explain high school physics to a bunch of retards who cant grasp anything.
The sliding barrel causes the force to be distributed to the ship over a period of time instead of instantly, reducing the strain on the ship.
t. mechanical engineer
>talking about the same force is apples and oranges
Retarded and proud. Got it.
It would actually jerks the ship less, causing less vibration fatigue. It’s why even rocket motors have dampers. But it doesn’t matter much when incoming fire rapes your lifespan faster than fatigue ever will.
It actually doesn't in space and I cbf doing the math to prove it but
t. actual bored rocket scientist
PS space is a meme
I feel like I've done everything this game has to offer
I've got 4 successful colonies and I feel like all i'm doing is playing whack-a-mole with these fuckin pirate bases appearing out of nowhere every month
are there any story missions past the red planet one?
Applying it to the hull would reduce jerkiness, you want the force to leave the gun and move to a bigger body as soon as possible. Keeping it around the barrel decreases accuracy, it doesn't improve it.
I think you're right
>lasers
Oh god.
There’s a reason you guys play SS, you’re autistic enough to like the logistics but definitely not book smart in anything aerospace. None of you could play Children of Dead Earth, I’m willing to bet money.
There’s literally someone in here saying the action-reaction force of weapon’s recoil wouldn’t exist in space.
It definitely does cause the force to be distributed over time, it just doesn't mean anything because these retards are arguing about something else lol
Yeah, the problem is the moron who actually believes action-reaction doesn't exist in space. I thought I'd never see the day.
You’re right about accuracy but the force getting instantly transferred to the hull like be worse than if a damper was there. The military wouldn’t use dampers like recoil springs I think mainly because accuracy.
>Persean league starts attacking my colony because muh heavy industry monopoly
>Defend it
>Relationship reduced
YOU MOTHERFUCKERS STARTED IT HOW AM I IN THE WRONG
Relation is a measure of how much they dislike you. Of course they're going to fucking hate you if you blow up their shit, even if they started it.
>haha i bet you guys don't even play this needlessly autistic game that can't even be called a game anymore
Apparently your hypothetical degree gave you an inflated sense of worth. You're not a hot shit snowflake.
It’s a reputation bar not a morality bar.
Real degree, working on masters now.
But the point of order here is that I’m still 100% right and your post was, unironically, seething.
Is glassing every faction inevitable the further into the game you get? I'm really trying to be friendly with them but it's starting to seem like genocide is my only option
Is there some deeper meaning behind this?
Glaux, Raptor and IBIS are good, but, much like the Uhlan, Burchel they benefit a lot from expanded magazines. Any ship with Uhlan or relying on Glaux will want the expanded magazines.
The SRAB is tricky, it might not look like much but the damage is good and is boosted by anything that boosts missiles despite being an energy weapon.
Grave and Glowtusk are basically guns for ships that get up close, like anything with Safety Overrides
Haze is great, it also has the heavy flicker core
Daze is basically a tank, and Flux Redirection is basically Accelerated Ammo Feeder for all weapons
Wanzers have an issue in that most of them are shieldless, and get instantly fucked by anything EMP.
Doom or Onslaught?
or wait for Aurora
You sound like someone who has no idea what he's talking about.
What is that, Vesperon?
>ur seething
Hey, I'm not the one who made this absolute representative of a cringe snap. Did space lasers fuck your mom or something?
Thank you user, king of perception.
Is that PhD. of yours in psychoanalysis or neuroscience?
Nobody likes competition. If your allies become too powerful they become potential usurpers, so it's a good idea to keep them weak enough that they pose no threat to you. That's just how it be.
Prism Freeport, contact the station guys.
After each market reset, the blueprints they offer don't refresh until you dock. You can savescum blueprints by saving before
Pretty much, though the less righteous factions like Tri-Tachyon should more or less leave you alone the longest.
No, but me and your mother on the other hand...
Just a PhD in calling out bullshit. Seems it's paying for itself yet again.
Dude, yet again, has absolutely nothing to contribute.
>tactical bombardment
>war crime
Try playing the game faggot
You’re quoting 2 different posters buddy.
But whoever you’re talking to, you’re wrong. Despite me arguing with the other poster currently.
Guys, we can just solve the problem with guns overheating by turning the heat into a laser wave and shooting the heat at the enemy to cool down. Heat is on the spectrum after all.
You had nothing to contribute either by that post. Talk shit, get shit on.
It's very strange, STEM masters are usually humble and easygoing. I guess there's a bundle of faggot in every forest and I just happened to run into one today.
Because user. When you saturation bomb a habitable or economically functional world to a barren hell-scoured rock you do more then kill everyone. You forever remove a load bearing planet from galactic stability. Life gets a tiny bit harder for everyone now that world is dead. It's dangerously wasteful in an age of Limited intergalactic travel.
Should have gone to a better university, seems like you didn’t learn much.
Is it best to leave remnant bases alone if I want to continue farming their fleets?
>tfw a Liberal Arts Student but with most of the Science Student's qualities.
Once you destroy the bases, theyre gone forever
This just in: Vayra's Sector just updated
whats this?
you figured out the truth of the image
>You’re quoting 2 different posters buddy.
I know, I was telling you the dude you've been replying to has nothing to contribute, yet again. You're wasting your time responding to him. He's just baiting you, you moron.
>Flagship: Conquest
>Former Flagship: Dominator
>Quarterback: Eagle Elite
>Runner: Chaingun Falcon
>Backbone: Eagle standard x4
>Flank: Wolf x3, Centurion x 2
>Support: Mora x2, Heron x1
>Remainder: assorted fuel and storage
My fleet is built to roll with the punches and hit back harder. I may yet set my conquest on auto or find a captain just because I adore the simple brute force the dominator offers
Can’t you just recolonize it as a barren world?
What makes you think I’m not just shooting the shit with him while we banter? Why else would I come on v, to talk about video games?
>What makes you think I’m not just shooting the shit with him while we banter?
Why are you doing that in this thread then? Fuck off, we're trying to talk about video games and I don't need to see you getting dunked on.
/dunks on you
A large mod that now split into three mods: KAdur Remnant, Vayra's Sector and Vayra's Ship Pack
>Why else would I come on v, to talk about video games?
You win.
The cruiser is a kitbash some user made years ago. The link broke a while ago so there's no way to get a hold of it anymore.
Donno. I'm not Yet willing to fight half the factions just to find out. Plus I'm too busy being sore they don't let me plug Alpha cores into ships
I haven’t gotten one yet but I assume you can plug them into remnant ships?
What happens if you make a colony with industry needing a resource the planet doesn't have? Do they just have to import everything? I want to start fuel production and a farm but the only other planets around my Terran capital colony are Barren and only have ore resources mentioned in the survey data.
Not yet. Ai cores in ships is supposed to be an upcoming feature.
Maybe theres a mod out but you cant right now.
Yeah any rescources needed are imported. So much so you can cripple others colonies by raiding the trade convoies headed there.
Ship Pack and Sector are pretty decent, I can't get into Kadur Remnant though, the AI is fucking awful with their ships due to the shield upkeep.
I don't care if the planets are shit, colonize that system.
>the AI
So many damn bumpercars....
What does adding AI core to Tech-mining do?
Dude their fighters are god tier. I also feel like I'm sending out a bunch of mobile suits which makes the mod worthwhile alone. They could have only added the wanzers and I'd still have it in every playthrough.
feelszeonman
Lads I just took my schizoid pills and I'm gonna be sleep soon. Show me what you're doing before I'm out
I see you found mustafar, make it your mining, refining, and heavy industry planet
Please take that shit back to the /vg/ thread, i came here to get away from it.
Don't worry, I merely jest. That dude's long gone, I'm just pissing on his grave
is there a mod where after X cycles the domain fleet shows up and purges the entire sector like it's supposed to be purged?
>find legion derelict
>can keep it
>it has busted engine and sensors
Well, FUCK
Can these be removed somehow? Only with a colony?
Restore option in the refit screen
restore button in fitting screen
What would be the point of this mod?
Watch the world burn
I took a break from this. What happened to the New Galactic Order mod?
Permabanned due to wrongthink on the forums, some of the bigger faction modders have conspired to inject malicious code into their mods to crash the game if it detects the mod active.
how the fuck have i not seen this before
thanks famalams
if these cucks care about me glassing yet another barren-bombarded world, why don't they just fly a few colonizing fleets out to the fringe worlds? plenty of shit-tier class 2 planets out there
motherfucker how hard is it supposed to be to find a terran world because i had to travel i shit you not to the end of the fucking sector to find one and i took a look at nearly every sector in between it and hegemony space except to the far north and south
is my seed busted or are they just that rare
>samefagging your own bait
Only one modder / mod ever did that and it doesn't even do that anymore. Stop spreading lies you turd burglar.
Go back
OK but why though?
>doesn't do that anymore
Forum defense force always shows up around this time.
(You)
Starsector general is 90% shitposting, don't bring that shit here, these threads have actually been mostly on topic which only happens once a year on Yea Forums
silence, faggot, this is a video game thread
go back to /pol/ you insufferable cunt
quick rundown?
Dassault doesn't have that feature anymore, I remember the dev getting quite a bit of flak from the community for that even if they disagreed with NGO.
But it is the truth it really doesn't do that anymore. I am not the forum defense force I am just pointing out he is wrong either through ignorance or otherwise.
Just restarted after getting destroyed by a pirate raid and trying out exploration.
First mining & research stations I found gave a corrupted nanoforge, synchroton n odyessy class blueprints
Should I sell or save them for my colony?

It's literally one guy
He just got banned from the /vg/ thread so I guess he's here to shit up the Yea Forums thread
>Just throwing a handful of capital ships into the fight and hitting the fast forward button to get it over with.
Fuck, why is the endgame so boring. My fleet might as well be nothing but capitals at this point.
>make it out with two little ships
>20 days until invasion of my colony announced
>make it back to my colony
>decent resources
>one ship

>mfw found 3 synchrotrons early on
>never sold
>now I make 600k a month from 3 planets in the same system
save, absolutely
you can make money a million different ways, but you don't run into nanoforges every day
keep that shit. shit, even the ai cores, when you find em.
most excellent
did you win, bud?
Forum defense force, always on time, always early morning US time.
Permabanned mods/modders that still develop outside the control of the autistic illuminati controlling the starsector forums are monitered by said illuminati and they are implementing "features" to fuck up your game if you're running a mod they don't like.
>implying the "community" matters
The big dick suckers run starsector, not the community. If you've been on the forums for long enough, you can tell who is who by how they post and what they get pissed off about.
Do I want to disable or enable this if I want the ship to be recoverable? I thought it was enabled but the description says otherwise
haven't played it. i thought i'd take a break and come shitpost a bit and go in fresh
Seething liar, incapable of telling the truth. And I been posting in these threads all evening so yea.
If you are into surveying and you literally got them while exploring only a small fraction of the map then you can sell them IF you really really need money. Surveying is broken and nets too much money and unique powerful artefacts with almost zero risk. An evening of surveying will set you with so much forges, ais and s.hit you'll be able to outfit 1, 2, maybe even 3 colonies with them, or become the ultimate goldberg of the sector if you sell them for the right price. Once I had a few runs start off with surveying I try to not do that anymore, because you only need a small shitty fleet for it and it catapults you into a midgame and sets you up for a smooth colony growth which catapults you into endgame, then you just get some blueprints in case you still havent and you're basically the new boss of the galaxy and can roll over anyone you want.
Imagine making yourself more unlikeable than the retards you're crusading against by spamming your hometown.
It means disabled in combat you noodle.
its referring to the ship being disabled in combat.
i have never even used the forum i want a VIDEO GAME THREAD
YOU ARE BEING A FAGGOT
PLEASE STOP
YOU'RE HURTING ME
Meant for
I feel stupid now
Just don't respond to him you retards
>stop exposing my faggotry you faggot
Interesting.
I just hope no one believes his bullshit!
why?
Its okay, I can understand how you'd think that.
Are there any decently fast ships that have a fighter bay and can hold their own against cruisers and up?
I've been using this but I'd like something better.
Thanks for the help I'll hold onto them for now and sell if desperate, was my first exploration/survey run and excited to do some more
Because he is wrong about most of it and greatly exaggerating the stuff he isn't lying about to the point it might as well be a lie.
Odyssey
Is this system worth it? Low hazard ratings, but barely any exploitable minerals. It's also really close to hegeniggers' hood, and I plan on using AI.
you're gonna have to elaborate on that
>you're wrong about it except what's actually true
Forum. Defense. Force.
No one controls the forum or the community, no one has their mod fuck up your game if you run X mod (this was the case with ONE modder for a time but he no longer does it).
He rants and raves about this evil cabal that doesn't exist and expects everyone to believe it and then seethes that forum faggots are out to get him whenever he is called out.
Heron or Mora?
i have 2 planets with hazard ratings of like 175/200% respectively and i make over 200k a month from each of them, at size 6 - they both have pretty abundant/rich mineral deposits of both ores, are like 10 ly from hegecuck space, and i do mining and refining on both, techmining on one and heavy industry on the other
i have never made any other colonies so i dunno if this is good or bad but here is some data to help you decide
Prove it.
Heron all the way
seems to me that's he's just baiting you fags and you always fall for it but thanks for confirming that there actually is a forum defense force here
Can both of you niggers stop shitting up the thread with the same drama?
> Everyone that I disagree with is part of the forum defense force.
this
anyway STARSECTOR THREAD, GUYS
WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE SHIP AND WHY IS IT SUNDERCHAN
>sunder
shit taste. my vanilla ship-fu is Colossus-chan and all it's variants
Enforcer bowling ball build.
>playing nexerelin
>rolling around with my tri tac homies smashing persean niggers into the dirt
>finally get both the rep and capital for paragon
>obtain the holy grail of ships
>realize i have no idea what the fuck to put on it
>looking through both my supplies of guns and also what they got at culann
>heavy needler huh? well considering everything is a fucking laser mount i may as well try anti-shield
>my fucking face when i sim it
what ship can i put 20 of these on
and how fun is starting nex as a pirate
Man, the forums are so gay. Boomers in the unironic sense of the word. Boomers in the sense of "we won't entertain a hypothetical steam workshop integration because we're scared of auto updates"
Mora, Heron is poorly armed and suicidal, Mora is a feontline wall if invincible
They are right though, auto updates means it doesn't work for SS as more mod updates break saves than not.
post screenshot of said boomerness
implying lasers wou7ldn't be even more heat ineffective esp on longer range
air guns on the other hand...
ip count never went up
*frontline wall of invincible
Fucking phone posting
>how fun is starting nex as a pirate
Do you enjoy dealing with fuckhuge invasions against you and having nowhere to run?
So?
He needs to take his meds.
How? Ive got 2 of each and it always seems like the moras are doing stupid shit and dying. True heron lacks guns but they stay in the back.
here's your (You), now shut the fuck up
my post was the 75th ip you dumb nigger
check your plugins
Heron is shit
Needlers use up a lot of flux but it's extremely effective for making the enemy fuck off for a bit.
It also works pretty well against hull
>start as pirates
>next to a tri-jew base
>raid tri-jews for blueprints worth hundreds of thousands
>sell them all to pirates
Here comes the money. Now to find cruisers that have 10+ burn
It's not a problem unique to Starsector, donkey. And there are ways around that.
this entire thread, I won't spoonfeed you
fractalsoftworks.com
Do shared in-faction resources get a bonus if the producing world is in the same constellation
For instance, I have a mining/refining planet in one constellation but the heavy industry world in another. Will the resource importing be lower if one of the producers is in the same constellation?
Starsector threads are slowly becoming a general now, You’re gonna start seeing tripfag and repetitive shitpost in three to five days. I guarantee you, this is just something that happens to every thread where we actually talk about playing video games
taking into account the deployment cost, it's a pretty cheap carrier overall. if you can protect it it can do it's job
>G.K. Security
wait, it was updated to 0.9? Oh boy
say what you want about XLU, but their star fortress is so fucking nice both in looks and in performance.
mora is the easy choice
So we can all agree that the Imperium is the best faction mod right?
It is really good no doubt.
1000 fleet limit? How's your PC handling this?
Are there boarding actions in this game?
What's their schtick? I played them for a couple of hours until I got the mainline cruiser and I found its weapons to be seriously underwhelming.
Complete opposite in my experience
>start a new run
>first thing in the black market
If I could afford it I'd see if a solo run with just this would be possible
It's extremly susceptible to flanking, ruling out a solo run
Aux thrusters don't help?
Is there any reason to recover enemy ships after battle if you don't intend to fly them yourself? Do they sell for more?
Also if you recover then scuttle you can get some material back, but do you also get that material if you just choose "Continue" or is that excess just lost?
really? their missiles are absolute top tier, they have one of the cheapest medium PD weapons I have ever seen in the game, and their ballistic weapons are pretty nice overall. maybe it's because I end up getting my hands on their weapons when I'm on the endgame and so I can make better use for them, but they have some really OP combinations
>28 top speed
Literally anything can wear this thing down with hit and run tactics
>Is there any reason to recover enemy ships after battle if you don't intend to fly them yourself
No
Best small ships to order as constant escorts to big bad Onslaughts and Legions? Would a tempest or wolf be better?
I currently run this fleet and want to avoid my big boys taking too much damage.
it's too damn slow, my dude
it's a fuckin fantastic ship don't get me wrong i field one of these to lay damage onto big targets with my capital flagship but it absolutely requires escorts to deal with frigates and destroyers cause they'll get behind it and buttfuck it into oblivion
plus you can't pursue for shit i have a hardon for chasing down fleeing faggots who try to escape my wrath
O M E N
am I autistic I cant figure out how to sent fighter to a target from my capital ship?
Where is the prism free port?
>front shields
Multiple opponents, especially frigate hunting packs will tear it to pieces
Z
tempest, brawlers and monitors can do the job pretty well. monitors with shield mods in particular are insanely useful for tanking shots so you can use more flux for shooting
omen, dude
if you specifically want escorts for protecting a big ship, omens are fucking fantastic
wolves are great as pursuit ships because of the phase skimming - they can dodge past all the big shit and gang up on frigates and logistics ships that are trying to escape, but as escorts they're pretty trash
also why did you steal my character's profile pic
Hunted a down a tach deserter. everything went better than expected.
pretty bad.
With the low maint perks you can use some of them as cheap freighters if you fought in the outter worlds and need extra storage room.
Z while the ship is targeted
You have to enable it in nexs new game menu.
It used to be by the Yma system but now it's in the middle of the core, west of sindria
ty brah
Thanks guys, will give Omen and Monitor a go
It's literally the one and only not retarded looking profile pic in the entire game
>it's an "Independent prospector fleet turns red and decides to attack you out of nowhere" episode
Omens are great PD platforms, but the have a tendency to blow up in larger battles.
Where can I get harbingers from?
I've tried looking at Tri Tachyon, but thye never have any for sale.
No they don't, give them hardened shields.
Why did this nigga name all of the ships based on minerals?
It's pretty rare, keep trying tri-jew bases and black markets
Oh.
What about weapons like AM blasters and such, can I get them anywhere aside from derelict ships, and are there blueprints for them?
what the fuck mod did sseth use for that big swinging dick machine that spun around and slapped shit
i get tons of them from just beating the shit out of pirates
i assume everything in the game has a respective blueprint but i don't know for sure
>work two agents 24/7 because all I want to do is explore and fight bounties
>suddenly get this
Didn't know it was a thing
the fuck? you can win this? I thought it didn't have a win condition.
Please help me, I got a Legion but i am a brainlet and my loadouts for it are shit. What do i put on it to make it dangerous?
It says right on the mod page that you win either by killing or allying everyone in the sector.
It's nex.
I sure as heck didn't ally anyone. All I did was raise relations so they won't bother me too much.
If you enable your own faction to be visible in the intel tab you would be able to clearly see you were allies with everyone.
If absolutely no one is hostile to you, you win.
even pirates and pathers?
why would you want to win this game
>raise the black flag!
is that a mod thing or can i do that somehow in vanilla because i want to be recognized as a real faction
It's neutrino. The ship looks like it's a Grinder.
Start a colony, everyone will hate you for it though
Didn't think having good relations = being allies. Guess being friendly with almost everyone did it.
time to install some mods, m8
It looks like some sex toy you'd see on a Grindr profile.
>starsector-core
>data
>world
>factions
>open player faction file with Notepad
>set showininteltab to 'true'
Apparently you can even write a description for your faction but I forgot how.
Based boomers, steam (and any other of those platforms for that matter) is absolute shit and monopolizing game distribution has put the videogame market in extremely dire straits where publishers can just do whatever the fuck they want.
Really starting to like the wavepulse cannons
they do have an obsession with dicks, now that you mention it.
i already have 5 colonies i don't understand
do i need to resign my hegecuck commission? they're giving me neetbux
Do patrols from my own colonies also patrol in hyperspace?
I've had pirates just sit at jumppoints hitting whatever exits.
SRA weapons are short range, but they do pack a punch if you have what it takes to let them rip. And those Murti CAS beams, holy shit I love their sound and feel.
>Free market ain't free. The marketplace of goods and services gotta be litterd with the blood of Independent merchants. Tri-Tachyon CORPORATION aka "Tri-Thots" are not my company. They are a centralized nation-state and probably collects tariffs as well :DDD REMNANT not REDACTED okay? be free.

>in a low danger system not even 10 light years from the nearest Hegemony system
Do people in this game just never leave the core worlds?
>0xDDDD
lmao
They did once, and they lost an Astral in the process.
kite them out of corona or you're gonna have a bad time
Lore reason why no one is going out is because technically the entire sector used to be colonized but they fell back to the core after the collapse and wars. The period we'ee going through in game is a renaissance iirc.
>Perseans LARP as some sort of Ancap utopia, spending all day yapping about muh individual freedom this muh Hegemony oppression that
>as soon as you try to break into the market with your own enterprise they show their true colors as dirty corporatist pigs and try to destroy your colony
Perseans will be the first up against the wall
>not kiting them INTO the corona
someone forgot their solar shielding.
Perseans are more like muh libertarian thots and muh league world rights
Independent is more of an ancap faction that actually observes NAP whereas Pirates are ancap faction that don't care about the NAP
Love how everyone shits on tri-fags
How do you think that Astral ended up there?
If I sell blueprints to black market, will pirates start using those ships/weapons later? Or do I need to sell them to pirate open and military markets for this to happen?
Playing as pirates and I want arm them with everything
How important is evasive action for the captain of an Onslaught? I feel like +50% armor for damage reduction calculation might be insanely OP if it means what I think it means - on a ship that has like 1850 armor already
Any black market does fine.
It's OP for smaller armored ships like Dominators.
Onslut is kind of strange in that it's got lots of armor on paper, but they're spread out over a wider pixel area. It's entirely possible to wreck an Onslut while leaving a surprisingly large portion of its armor intact due to how armor damage is calculated in this game.
friendly reminder that planets with pieces of junk orbiting them have ruins
beautiful
You have to take at least level 1 for any battleship captain because otherwise they can't turn for shit.
You can try to get lucky and have lvl 1 evasion and lvl2 helmsmanship along with 6 other skills, but due to how leveling works it can go wrong so better not try it unless savescummuing.
What are your favourite ships from various faction mods?
For me, it's the Battlestar carrier from Imperium with 6 fighter bays.
Also, pic related from Mayasuran Navy is hilarious.
Now I feel better about roaming around blindly taking on bounties and scrubbing pirate bases from the map
Is it better to bounty hunt at start or just scan probes and ships for money?
Do whatever jobs pop up on the intel screen that aren't too far away.
These descriptions can be pretty funny sometimes.
The Praetorian is pretty dope looking, and I love the frontal in-built energy lance. I also like Neutrino's banshee
They did reign supreme on the carribean throughout the second half of the 17th century, it's not that big of a stretch.
>chaos hideout keeps posting drug trade missions all the time
This feels like something is bugged or they really want their space heroin.
God damnit midtech step your game up. You're getting killed by hightech. At this point even lowpoint is beating you.
>how to describe all the vanilla factions with this one weird american bear meme
Eagle is best cruiser in the game by combination of deployment price and what it can do. Heron is very good too, and so are midline destroyers. Its main problem is that only midline capital is very bad joke.
How do I keep the game from crashing if I add more than 10 factions?
I like the clusterfuck that creates.
Should I allocate more RAM?
Is there no way?
>Hegemony Expedition
>Atleast seven onslaughts, one of which is a XIV
>mfw watching the XIV onslaught as it takes a full frontal from my Onslaught, my space station, and two eagles
>mfw my Onslaught falters and is disabled
Managed to win the battle, the XIV was one of three Heg ships remaining in the battle. Focused rest of my forces on it and disabled it, alas wasn't recoverable.
yooooooooo
Any mods that add ships that make me feel like a god but are either not totally broken or at least are hard enough to get to feel rewarding to get?
Blackrock. Pure glass cannons, high risk, high reward
>install Ship/Weapon Pack mod
>adds a ship called the Victory class
>it's just a Conquest but straight up better in every way aside from speed
They also make great sounds.
I'm running 45 mods with no problem and I only have 8 GB of RAM. Did you change your settings file to allocate more RAM?
Victory is too big for its armor stat and is actually very easy to kill. The real powernigga of that mod is S-variant of pic related with two long-range shotguns.
2 GB allocated.
Should I make it 4 or 8?
I've got 16, thought it'd be overkill for an isometric 2D game.
Can I build as many structures as I want in my colony? They're not limited like industries? I want to build a waystation
>mfw I edit battle size to 1000 and fleet size to 50
50 v 50 vengeance fleet battles are insane.
structures are unlimted
Change it to 4 and bump it up if that doesn't help.
Not that guy but how do you do stuff like make SS use more RAM and run off your video card rather than integrated graphics?
Based
I'd just assume it was floating around there since the collapse/ ai war, hence the Remnants guarding it
That would actually be really fun, could work similarly to the chaos invasion from TWW
What do you do after you reach ~1M in income? I've been colonizing outer systems and giving them to different factions, but they all stay size 3 even if I fill it with great infrastructure.
Unironically a good endgame disaster event to add so people have something to do other than restart.
I really like neutrino ships, specially pic related. that, diable and SWP are my favourites outside of a few select honorable mentions of other mods
>I've got 16
set it to 12, go crazy with the battlesize and max fleet size in the settings, see if it can handle it
send a screenshot if it ends up working, I'm kinda curious to see
You restart and laugh at the fags who say the game is finished
There are OP crusaders that do that.
I gave the planet to the pirates a couple days ago with no supplies and they already have all of this! I bet higgers would be decivilized by now.
I feel like exploration missions are pretty OP early on. Not only do you get paid to explore systems you'd explore sooner or later anyway, you also get to pocket all the sweet, sweet Domain era loot. If yoou can afford a freighter or two and take the salvaging skills, you can make loadsamoney fast
Slaughter everyone in the galaxy.
I think I will conquer Sindria, install an alpha core there and try to take it out. Or should I instead conquer the lobster world and let the Dictate sort it out with teh Remnant?
Can somebody explain why missiles so often just hit enemy shields, but don't explode and just get deflected by it? This has happened to me so many times with reaper missiles from point blank range now.
Can I add Vayra's Ship Pack to an existing save?
But they're my friends!
Torpedoes have an arming distance I'm pretty sure.
Try it, it won't hurt. Sometimes it works, sometimes, like with Nex, it doesn't.
I'm honestly surprised my fleet hasn't mutinied yet.
I'm usually the only person to lose his ship in a fight.
Diktat Dickgirl
>started a new save again
send help
We're pretty sure the crew has explosive collars or marines with orders to shoot on sight.
>when the only ships around your island of civilization are Pathers
I have launched reapers many times from point blank range when I'm almost hugging enemy ships to break their hull or overload their shields. It can't be about arming distance with them, because usually it has been working for me.
Sunder or Shrike as destroyer escorts for my fleet?
only the fleet leaders get access to the hyperspace jump codes or something probably
without you they’d get stranded and starve
quality tri-shit engineering
same
forgot pic
also the elite version of this is really fun, I don't even know how to get it without console commands tho
you are here forever, Alex is your lord now
don't look to the blog updates unless you want to get blueballed imagining the new stuff
Enforcer
Sunders are very poor escorts, they are opportunistic strike killers and fearsome flaghip
Shrikes are frigate bullying chase ships
Do distress calls work?
>vengeance fleet level 1 launching
Should I be worried? They arent sending any capital ships at level 1, right?
So is Neutrino compatible with 0.9.1a or not?
I never knew pirates would actually use blueprints until these treads.
>not Shadowyards
yeah they're great pirate magnets
No, but be ready for a couple cruisers.
This, should've read the fine print, goy. All sales are final
o fug
is there more?
That's the only one I had.
humanized spaceships is my fetish
So far no problems, seeing their stuff in campaign, seems to be save compatible.
Weird I cant get neutrino to launch at all. Anyone else have that issue?
What about Medusas, i prefer midline or high-tech ships to low-tech.
if you play nex you can unlock non player colony growth
Medusa is too expensive for how little it actually provides. It's like the Shrike, excels at bullying smaller prey, but struggles to punch above it's weight. Enforcer is a great escort because it can hold its own even against cruisers thanks to excellent weaponry and unmatched armor, a good officer with the proper skills and heavy armor mod can give it an absurd amount of damage reduction from armor. The only problem it has is speed.
Anyway, for a pure escort role you want to get Omens, they're just too damn good for the job.
Medusa is primarily for making smaller ships fuck off. Its basically a larger wolf.
what version of starsector are you running?
what ship can i use to rp this kino scene youtube.com
The latest I think.
Someone post the fighter image.
I found some remnant fighters, need to know what they're good for.
weird. what is the error message?
I just found the rarest ship of all: A Legion XIV battlecarrier that WASN'T available for salvage.
Spark is best interceptor in the game.
Two others feels pretty shit tho.
>Escort Omens
This. Probably the best escort ships in the game.
how do i find out where the luddic path bases that are supplying in my colonies are. with pirates i can usually find out where there base is at the bar. path i've seen nothing.
Best fast bomber?
>probably
Without a doubt, I'd say they are pretty overpowered but I don't want to say it because I love them so much.
Ludic also has bar hints.
What the fuck is this place? A really big system in the corner of the map called World Mill is full of derelicts and [REDACTED]
Oh the only one I didn't get, cool.
no idea. try looking at the starsector.log file (you might want to regenerate it, the thing is probably 50MB big at this point), locate the part in the last few lines where things went wrong and paste the error message here.
Dagger, Trident
>fast
Oh.
Not sure what you mean about "fast" but best bombers in the game is 2:4 combination of longbow and trident, because they instagib most cruisers if torps land in correct order. If you want to use them on something that is not astral, I think better to just have single longbow per carrier and some fighters with anti-armor potential, because AI uses bombers too sporadically and unreliably.
just a randomly generated system, those big piles of derelict ships are not so rare
It would be cruel and low hanging fruit to say so are you but I was tempted to really badly.
>Pirate Paragons with Matsar launchers
Matsar, where's that from?
