Is boku no hero academia good?

Started reading it a couple weeks ago, it's really mediocre. Don't know why everyone jerks off to it. The spinoff however, is infinitely better.

>started reading it
That's probably why you don't know. No one really cares about the manga.
As for OP, Wish.com is a literal scam website. Just look at the thousands of videos of people buying items en masse and maybe 2 out of 30 will be the "Correct" item listed.

Black Clover is better.

only until all might dies

No it's not.
Black Clover is complete garage you third worlder.

I tried to get into this but the nun memes I saw on r*ddit made me loss interest

The spinoff is poorly paced and bland as fuck. This is how you easily identify contrarians.

It has an official age gap romance

This. Vigilantes is a better story about an underdog trying to be a hero despite all the challenges he has in his way. The dude is given a terrible power and he is still figuring out new techniques to get better in combat.

It starts off extremely strong, which is why it got so popular with normies. I wouldn't say it's gotten bad, but it's definitely not as interesting anymore.

FUCK SHONENSHIT

Attached: 1565381286857.jpg (869x1218, 231K)

Wouldn't call it great but it's a solid 7/10 with some good 10/10 moments.

Based. Chad Clover>My shit academia

Unironically this. Listen credit where credit is do. MHA isn’t THAT BAD. But Black Clover is still better. Maybe its because I have shit tastes (and unironically enjoy Umaru). Idfk. But regardless Black Clover is fucking LEAGUES better than MHA and is much more interesting. I don’t want to follow Mr Bone Breaks When I Punch. No I want to follow Mr No Magical Potential But I Get Badass Satan Magic.

you'll love it

I like black clover, but it's so fucking annoying to watch because of the unbelievable amount of filler
>several recap episodes already
>right when things get interesting we get a flash back episode that doesn't actually add anything interesting
>one time during the underwater arc I timed it, and with the intro song and recap segment the episode didn't actually show anything new until 7 minutes into the episode
That and they show interesting things, but then forget about them for the rest of the season
>Asta gets a second sword that lets him absorb his teammates magic and fire it off like a projectile
>No one ever mentions this power again for the rest of the season and the next season despite it clearly being something that could take his fighting to a whole new level

BAKUGO PLEASE FUCK MY GIRLFRIEND

Attached: 33ehms1.png (640x360, 205K)

Ashens tried it, it was shit.

sauce?

Did he die yet? I quit reading after school festival loli bullshit arc

How do you stomach all the fluff and side characters? And the lack of a central conflict? It's cute, but it's not better than the main manga. Are you insane?

Just do what most people do for One Piece. Drop the anime and read the manga instead.

ajin

Youtubers have actually shown you just get a shit card that not actually the card listed. They fuck around with it enough where it even shows up as the card but if you open up the card you'll find a much weaker shit card.

Because this story isn't about how Koichi became the greatest vigilante or why Knuckleduster lost his powers. It's a slice of life with superhero shit in it. The characterization in it is enough to justify the existence of the spin-off. Koichi is what Deku could've been if Deku quit crying. Hell the central conflict for the first half of the series was the drug shit and now it's focusing on Knuckleduster's former sidekick.

MHA is infinitely better in that it's hero doesn't make me want to gouge my fucking ears out. His voice is like fucking nails on a chalkboard goddamn. Worse then Naruto

>watching the anime
There's your problem, read the fucking manga anime adaptations are always shit.

Not only do you derail my thread, you bring up Grey Naruto. MHA has better designs and the Japanese take on superheroes that isn't tokusatsu is nice. Murata's art is great as well. Anime-wise, the ost kicks ass.

Where are the ShingeKINO Kyojin chads?

It's basically edgier Jojo

Koichi is a bland, dopey protag. It's GOOD that Deku isn't him. And let's be real for a moment. The only time Deku is weepy anymore is for comedic effect. He doesn't cry at the prospect of conflict or anything. It's disingenuous to pretend he's a crybaby.

Timeskips are the manga equivalent to wrist slits.

picked up. Thanks anons

Read the goddamn manga then.

>SoL
It's a sitcom then.

Depends on how well it’s done. If every character is in the exact same place/situation as pre-timeskip then it’s shit, but if things move forward it CAN be good.

It's like a Batman story. And I prefer Koichi and the Vigilantes characters over Deku and his constant obsession over Bakugo, shit's fucking annoying.

Drawn by the author himself

Attached: 1548813625789.png (1476x753, 658K)

>mha better than black clover
no
>shits on naruto
piss off

>Koichi is a bland, dopey protag.
Are you kidding me right now? The dude decided that he would give up being a hero if it meant he could save someone. Deku has everything handed to him and still finds a way to cry for help. At least with Koichi, we can see a stable growth from him just sliding around picking up trash, to him shooting out air bullets.

I see, you are still mad about that thing with the 7 quirks

Sure if JoJo was cool.

Attached: 1564275695025.jpg (1600x1120, 711K)

That's definitely part of it, I hate how the story constantly treats Deku as an underdog when he has the strength of a literal god.

Koichi is a boring self-insert protag with few defining qualities except how slow on the uptake he is, which is low hanging fruit humor.

>Deku has everything handed to him
Disingenuous again. The whole problem with him receiving "incredible power" was his body could not fucking handle it. He couldn't wield the power for shit, which is a much more creative plot angle than "powerless vigilante becomes a gadget wizz, the next batman!" that all you whiners claim you wished the series was. If you say that's a better angle, you are a pleb who can't recognize an interesting new angle.

Pre-timeskip Naruto is a terrible character. He's not so bad later on when his voice actually deepens and he mans the fuck up

>Everything handed to him
So you've never read or watched the anime, got it.

Him going through one training montage and crying isn’t a good way of writing him struggling to earn his powers.
Deku a shit, seethe more

Based

Oh you watched one episode/read one chapter huh? Well I guess you're the expert now.

Pop Step > any female from MHA

Attached: ps.jpg (850x602, 146K)

>I only watched episode one
The post
Go be retarded elsewhere

Attached: 1565603439160.png (211x244, 72K)

Then defend how everything ISN’T handed to him while everyone praises how hard he works.
He stopped being interesting once he refused to go absolute madman anymore.
Also I read till the “changing the future”/school festival/Gentle villain arc, which is when I realized the manga was so far in it’s ass I would need deep sea diving gear to keep reading.

It's Naruto, but without a retarded story and unlikeable main cast. It has it's highs and lows like all Shonen. Honestly I think the author is getting burnt out.

>Then defend how everything ISN’T handed to him
He had to master a power that fucking destroyed his body. He had to ace an entrance exam using a power he just gained and had no control over. He then continues to learn his power long enough not to break every bone in his body, but still irreparably damages himself and has to adapt a new fighting style so he doesn't become a cripple. The whole series centers on his struggles, so saying "HURF DURF HANDED TO HIM" is a fucking bald face lie.

It's got no filler, which is pretty good

Gentle was fucking hype. I guess you dropped it in the introduction chapters.

Watch up to episode 49 pretend it ended there and you've got a nice little self-contained story that isn't destined to drag on forever.

it got very stale for me after a while. after about 100 chapters i felt i had seen everything. and i have a pretty high tolerance for these series, im still current on one piece.

I wish the series would’ve went the route of a shounen where Deku wasn’t just given a cheap ticket to the top and actually had to work for his strength beyond just a 4 minute training montage. Also I highly doubt the two strongest quirks in the world would would be given to two Japanese people and kept a secret to the outside world.

While I’ll acknowledge him breaking his body with his powers was a good plot point, it held little consequences with healing grandma 2 steps away. More often than not, he’s just told “Don’t break your arms again! For real this time!” Only when he has the groundbreaking revelation to kick things does that get developed further.
Also the entrance exam was retarded from start to finish. Having an entire separate point system that the participants aren’t told about is one thing, but having it be for rescues implies that the school expected their own contestants to be put in serious danger from their robots, and that other students would “protect them” instead of just breaking robots for points.
In the end, your points are just complications Deku has after getting the powers, not justifications for why he has them. He’s still a shit who cries too much.
Quit when Deku used a infinite-use projectile finger-flick because that shit’s dumb. Gentle was cool and La Brava is top tier cunny

MHA has no world, i think thats my problem with it

>Thinking the SNK timeskip is bad.
Series only got better with each arc.

Attached: vc3jzdaehnx01.jpg (2037x3056, 1.93M)

>it held little consequences with healing grandma 2 steps away.
Granted, but the alternative is having chapters months of recovery apart. They weaved in the importance of the fact she only uses a body's metabolism to heal itself, and it's limited by your own body's ability to heal.

> and that other students would “protect them” instead of just breaking robots for points.
It's contrived, but it's a school for heroes. I think you could argue enough people who are there for the task at hand would do the intended thing. And if they didn't, they're robots. I think they can program them to hold back.

>not justifications for why he has them.
I guess I misunderstood the question then. The reason he has them is because All Might is a sucker for emotion and thinks that someone with no power who is still willing to rush into danger is the best candidate for the job. It's easy to disagree with the point. But you could conceivably see someone like All Might getting teary eyed enough at the sentiment to act on it.

>Quit when Deku used a infinite-use projectile finger-flick because that shit’s dumb.
I sincerely doubt it's a permanent fixture of his character. Just a gadget of interest.

>guys wait! deku is deep and intresting because his body can't handle his superpowers!

you just know that they will fix this eventually (probably during the time skip)

yes, dont listen to Yea Forums

Of course they will, you can't have an amazing power that a character will never use to its potential. Not in shounen. But hopefully there will be other interesting conflicts by that point.

fucking attack on titan had a timeskip?
Jeez, I dont even want to know how they botchered the story I once liked

FUCK YOU

I suppose we’ll have to agree to disagree. BNHA is definitely far from the worst popular shounen to come out, and I liked Naruto as a kid so this makes sense for the younger, less jaded people to like.
To end on a positive note, I read Shigaraki’s origin chapters and thought they were good. AfO is a good papa

that is unironically true though, he is far from being a proper quirk user, let alone the gary stu a lot of people claim he is.

shit on him if you want, but you know damn well he makes a point.
There is no way to justify that Deku only started to train to become a hero once all might took him as his protegee.

Bro....the first one is debatable but Naruto went off the rails so many times, the last arcs resembled something more out of Dragon Ball Z. I'm happy that Boruto is dialing back a bit, fights are more strategical with how jutsu is used.

Because he was told he couldn't. By his mom, by his doctor, and schoolmates. He literally says all needed to hear was someone say he could do it too.

But of course this isn't a struggle because it's muh feelings. Fuck off contrarians

>naruto bad!

Attached: 7d0.gif (165x115, 409K)

Both series are good so I don't see why you're trying to be elitist. You could have posted a better panel though

>user eloquently explains his opinion
>counter with wojack

I prefer Fire Punch

It's fine to have opinions.

If you don't like the SNK timeskip you unironically got filtered.

>he was told he couldn't

There was that vigilante option but I guess you agree with those guys who preffer ostentatious superpowers and crazy battles.

Hell yes

I disagree, the panel I posted is one of the best representations of subtle recoil in a manga. The detail that went into the SCAR is amazing.
