Is this unironically one of the 50 best games of all time?

Why do people shit on the PSP one so hard? It was basically just a GT4 port with a few new things, I thought it was pretty alright for a handheld game.

Fuck Sport though, I'll play a PC sim if I want that whole online competitive pro racing thing, the fun in GT for me was always the RPG-lite stuff, working your way up through the ranks and souping up shitboxes, and the great selection of tracks, including a lot of the original ones.

You forgot all the meme tech in F1. The real reason is that racing isn't for brainlets and everyone wants battle royale garbage.

I've heard that 6 was graphically downgraded compared to 5. Is that true?

This is what kills it for me too, along with Sony and Logitech's greedy bullshit with disabling support for my G27.

I'm still mad I can't use my normal Bluetooth headphones with the PS4 without some gay workaround.

All of this shit is why I stopped playing console games. I have a PS4 that hasn't even been turned on in like 3 months, preordered it at launch thinking it'd be like the old days with good exclusive games and then discovered over the years that it was just the same shit I could be playing on PC with better controls, better graphics, better peripheral support, and everything else. I used it as a streaming box for a few years but got a 4k smart tv a few months back so now it's relegated to nothing but playing blu-rays like once a year.

But hey, we got a touchpad, big LED, and speakers on the controller.

Sorry, but no. On no planet is GT3 not the weakest of the classic 4. It's a good game and I get the lack of content was a sacrifice due to polish and new hardware, but beyond that GT3 just doesn't have a good career mode. It has the worst license tests and copy-pasted racing events (as in it resuses events more than once).

My big brother used to play this game all the time. I miss being a kid, watching his real life letsplay.

Ps2 does not do true 1080i. The console only outputs 240p/480i/480p. It internally upscaled i think maybe 3 or 4 games to 1080i.

Eh, it's more a wash. GT5 has better anti-aliasing and rain effects, but GT6 has actual shadow filtering, higher resolution, and generally better car modeling.

Gt4 had a garbage physics model that made every car an understeery mess (at least on controller).

GT1 is top tier tho.

The psp sucks cuz it doesn't have a career mode, which was the best part of the gt series.

nfsu1 is better than HP2 in every way, except the cop chases. In fact nfsu1 has the most FUN driving/gameplay of all the series. Everything else is either worse, clunkier or pseudosimcade.

UG1 only has it’s customization going for it. Like I said it rode the coattails of MC and F&F, it’s only remembered so fondly now, along with UG2 because it’s babby’s first NFS.

U1 had far more varied soundtrack than HP2. Dude you can cherry pick all your preferences, but shitting on mid-2000s EA soundtracks is a really dumb move, nobody will agree with you. And that comes from someone whose favorite OST out of the series is both ps1 and PC OST for Porsche Unleashed, for different reasons obviously.

I will agree on the track variety. While I generally prefer night tracks there is a dire lack of dusk/dawn levels in post-HP2 nfs games.

I should also add, I’m not shitting on UG1, I enjoyed it and every NFS until after ProStreet. It’s a good game but to me, someone who has played NFS since the beginning, it’s not a true NFS game and I find that Midnight Club does everything better than UG1 and 2

Where would GT Concept and GT4 Prologue go?

Sport is a full game.

Anyone who doesn't put Sport in the top position simply doesn't know how to play the game. Sport is the best in gameplay. It doesn't have the car collection autism but it still has a decent enough roster of cars now after the countless free DLC.

Sport is the best one to start with because the others have outdated as fuck gameplay. But SP content is thin and mostly about getting gud rather than collecting cars and winning tourneys.

You can still do that in Sport aswell desu. And it feels nicer collecting cars when they're all HQ renders that look and drive more like the real thing than in previous GT games.

GT4 unironically felt soulless as fuck, it also had terrible physics and the worst and most obnoxious version of the licence tests.
