Well Yaldabaoth only let certain people in to the Metaverse so they wouldn't have been able to do anything about it. Naoto and Mitsuru were probably stonewalled by Shido and his goons at every turn but they couldn't actually be killed since they're Persona users.

Inaba and Tatsumi Port Island are both pretty far from Tokyo and the worlds were only merged for a few hours at most, they probably didn't hear about it until it was all said and done.
That said I've heard people believe that the two goons in the epilogue Morgana steals a spark plug from were actually with the Kirijo Group.

There's no gods or demons in Persona, just psychological stuff.

Personas have a stronger theme in terms of their inspiration and origin - they're engineered to be part of a greater narrative that delivers the game's message.

Stands are completely fucking mental off-the-wall superpowers that can be hilarious, useless, or the most convenient bullshit things in existence in the most random sandbox manga you've ever seen.

The limitation of being in a game means Personas are more restricted than Stands (i.e. they're bound to an element or two; they have very similar abilities; they can't be permanently out, etc) but limitations can be positive when used well, like in the Persona games.

Also, I don't believe that they are the same thing - that is it say, Stands are a manifestation of one's fighting spirit specifically and a Persona is a reflection of your psyche. Those are two different things.
