Childlike stuff is always more valued in art than stuff for teenagers. Lewis Carroll had a huge influence on Nabokov and was admired by Borges, for instance. Even Goethe wrote fairy tales. But you won't ever see serious writers praising YA novels.
And don't fool yourself, all of those games are for art-illiterate teenagers (maybe Grim Fandango is the most mature of the three, at least it is self-aware). It is just easier to respect simple, whimsical, execution-focused games that it is to accept clumsy attempts at being deep.
