Lads...

m8s...

I hope nobody actually believes this

Trannies...

its over

RIP PC and nintendo

>Almost
Sony's odd consoles are failures.

So....this..... is the power......... of Sony..................... woah..........

Will there be any games this time?

yeah right! whos gonna pay 1000+ dollars for a console?

>almost as powerful
Lol grow up and build a gaming rig, consoles are for little kids without enough money for a good pc

>Next year's console, with last year's performance! Order To-Day!

My dad just hung himself
He works for Microsoft

I don't understand Computer speak, how does that stack up to the 1080ti PC I bought to play Dablo 2: LoD with Windows?

>PS1 was a failure

And it'll still be under powered CPU

I really hope this is true, maybe the PS5 won't be outdated 9 months after release, like the PS4.

>thinks companies pay retail prices for parts
Look at this retard

a 2080 is at least $650
what do you guys think they will actually get a 1050?

>$700 machine

You know what I hope they do it, show us the power of the fucking hubris they've built this gen.

>buying snoy products
Oof, that’s a yikes from me

Reminder that obsessing over “muh specs” is meaningless when those “8k raytraced graphix” are still going to be output in 30 FPS with frequent dips. Enjoy your pretty movies, though.

The original PlayStation didn't have a number.

Cunts...

Oh boy I can't wait for censorship IN AYCH DEE!
Fuck off, I regret giving these niggers my money for the PS4, I'd rather waste $2500 on a meme gaymer pc than $500 on this piece of shit.

Attached: 1543818434277 copy.jpg (673x298, 107K)

I will. Enjoy your scraps and low quality indies.

not disputing that PC is absolutely master race,

but consoles do have one major advantage in that they are guaranteed to work out of the box. buy it, buy a game, plug it in, install, play.

there is absolutely no chance of running into some obscure hard drive partitioning error or something that you can't find the solution to after 10 hours of Googling.

PCs are objectively better in the end, but there are a lot of people with more money than time, and don't want to deal with PC assembly bullshit when they can have a generally nice gaming experience with a console.

once again, not disputing PC superiority. this is just a fair analysis of the upsides of getting a console.

H-holy... It can't b-

Playstation 5 is coming out at the end of next year. The RTX 2080, which isn't even the most powerful 20 series card, is already 1 year old. So Sony's "powerhouse console" is going to be LESS powerful than a 2+ year old video card that wasn't even the most powerful card you could buy when it launched. Not to mention that "almost" could mean anything, including that's actually closer to a 1080. Even when Sony tries to go all-out in terms power they still lag noticeably behind the PC, see PS4 Pro, see PS5.

>believing this for the 8th generation in a row
When will you retards learn. Remember true 4K gaming for the PS4 and One?

>almost
>costs 1k

hah

>"almost" as powerful in 2020 holiday season as a card from 2018 which was never even top of the line
>"almost"
So it's launching with immediately outdated hardware, nothing special I guess. This is standard for consoles at this point.

boy i can't wait for the actual reveal and all of the backtracking to happen

it's sony, of course there's going to be games.

THE FUTURE CONSOLE WILL BE ON PAR WITH NOT EVEN TOP TIER CURRENT GEN PC TECH, WEW

See

All that power, just to be censored.

Attached: IMG_0661.jpg (640x360, 48K)

>Zen 2
>under powered

Just like how the PS4 was supposed to be crazy powerful but was on par with a 750ti, right?

should have been 3080 Ti tier desu...
at most it will be 3060 tier

Sorry m8, we already know that next gen consoles will be using Navi 10 lite, which means sub-RX 5700 performance.

why are you quoting my post about costing 1k for a console with graphics output that won't be as good as a 700 dollar graphics card? I'm aware they get their parts cheaper, but that's not enough overhead on the price to make a decent profit if it's that powerful

suck my dick you utter faggot

Just imagine the super high quality censorship light shafts though. Truly visionary work they're doing.

stay mad

Backwards comparability or no buy for me until ps5 pro. Switch + PC have more than enough games to tide me over for now.
Launch lineup will probably suck for the first year or two like it did last time

anything over 1080p is a meme unless you are doing something wierd like building a flight simulator or something

>muh numbers
>muh buzzwords
It's the same every generation.

No way...

ps3 outsold 360.

that sony ceo already said the ps5 was going to be a ''niche machine'' with preparation for 8k and the like. What makes you think it's going to cost anything less than 600, the ps3's original price point?

And the PS3 with the The Cell™
they fall for it every time too

Damn...

>overclocked at 2ghz
O nonononon

I guess they can expect to win the gen again then.

>2020 hardware to be ALMOST as powerful as a card that came out in 2018
Woah... holy fuck.

Attached: butt.jpg (808x1024, 91K)

Wow...

This is actually exactly like the PS4 which was rumored to have an HD 7970/GTX 680 equivalent.
And we all know how that turned out.

Isn't PS4 BC basically guaranteed at this point? PS1 and PS2 are definitely plausible through pure software emulation. Don't know about PS3, but with a Zen 2 CPU it could work as well.

>Enjoy your movies
I though the play station was a movie player already

It will be as powerful as a 3070 when it comes out. The PS4 was as powerful as a 670 on release. Same shit, they're only as powerful as a mid-range card and considered weak after a year.

Wii outsold both. PS3 was Sony thinking they could get away with anything. It's the reason they straightened up with the PS4. PS5 is them being cocky once again.

MODS MODS MODS

Nah, PS4 is more like a 660 TI/HD 7870.
Even the PS4 struggles to compete with an HD 7970 GHz at times.
People keep trying to compare these to Nvidia GPUs and it's really weird how retarded they are.

>48 posters

>Even the PS4 struggles to compete with an HD 7970 GHz at times.
PS4 Pro*

It was probably less than a 670, yeah. But either way, the PS5 will be as powerful as a mid-range card by the time it releases, if it's only as powerful as a 2080, which isn't even the most powerful consumer card as of now.

>currytech
fuck off

>PS4 is more like a 660 TI/HD 7870
Bullshit. I played Fallout 4 on my 7870 and got unflinching 60fps on max settings. On PS4 it barely hits 30 on the equivalent of low, with no AA. People seriously overestimate the PS4 just because a handful of optimized exclusives look good.

>But either way, the PS5 will be as powerful as a mid-range card by the time it releases
Nah, it'll be on par with a GPU released a gen before it, like the PS4.
People forget that the 600/7000 series were released in 2012.
PS4 will likely be slightly weaker than an RX 5700, so slightly ahead of an RTX 2060, but below a 2060 S.

my god...

The raw cost for one TU104 die is probably $60, and they don't sell them at cost because that's fucking stupid. $100 for the graphics is probably what we're looking at.

Attached: cv0098.jpg (1024x1275, 553K)

No you arent aware companies DONT pay retail prices

That's great, means multiplats won't be held back by outdated hardware, at least for a couple of years. New console releases are always beneficial even to PC-only people, there's always a jump in visual fidelity, and with SSD being the new buzzword I'm sure we'll see some interesting implementation of high bandwidth asset streaming. Think cutscenes that can have crazy quick cuts like in the movies, without the fear of throttling loading leading to mini-freezes and popups, directors can go nuts. Or flybys like in that Spider-Man demo.

I don't like fun

>but consoles do have one major advantage in that they are guaranteed to work out of the box. buy it, buy a game, plug it in, install, play.
>
>there is absolutely no chance of running into some obscure hard drive partitioning error or something that you can't find the solution to after 10 hours of Googling.
AHAHAHA
just google "ps4 error"

The source of this is this moron from the resetera next gen speculation thread and he had to clarify himself in a follow up tweet that its actually more aligned with a 2070 not 2080. Nevertheless the console looks fucking ass anyway they're using 36 CUs clocked that 2ghz. For comparison the ps4 pro also has 36 CUs so it's like an overlooked ps4 pro with better IPC. Don't expect native 4k in any games though.

Its literally this GPU which AMD already has on the desktop but overclocked:
techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/radeon-rx-5700.c3437

It also goes in line with the original rumours that Navi (10) was built for the PS5:
forbes.com/sites/jasonevangelho/2018/06/12/sources-amd-created-navi-for-sonys-playstation-5-vega-suffered/

As well as the rumours that the PS5 was originally was supposed to release in 2019 to get a years head start on MS but because AMD fucked up with Navi and had to delay it past the expected CES reveal the PS5 got delayed to 2020 and Sony had to pull out of E3 since they had nothing to show.

Other rumours suggest MS always planned for a 2020 release and AMD made Navi 20 for them (I.e. the powerful full fat Navi) because of their azure cloud plans and it will have 56 CU at around 1.8 ghz. This GPU doesn't exist yet at all though.

To summarise current rumours
PS5: 36 CU @ 2ghz = 9.2tflop
Xbox next: 56 CU @ 1.6-1.8ghz = around 11.4 to 12.9 tflop

Next gen consoles looking hella expensive.

Ewwww... a narutoposter in 2019...

I doubt AMD is making bank or even trying to. This is about being the definitive partner of these console manufacturers until they inevitably transition solely to cloud to gaming in the next 10-20 years and produce significantly more hardware for cloud farms than they are now.

I heard gonzola or whatever the APU was called was using navi 10 lite.

So games will get even more expensive to make meaning it will take 5 years for most studios to make a game.

>consoles do have one major advantage in that they are guaranteed to work out of the box
This is a double edged sword, because in truth nothing is actually "guaranteed" and no software is perfect. Most people won't run into any trouble most of the time, but if you're unlucky and DO run into some issue, then the system will probably not give you any useful information as an error and you will not have any potential tools to use in order to figure out how to fix it.

Systems which are designed to be simple and idiot-proof are often more challenging to fix and troubleshoot, precisely because their core design hides information from the (supposedly ignorant) user.

kek a PS4 Pro is barely stronger than a 1060.

This shit will be lucky to be around 1080 level at best.

Counterpoint: You can return defective consoles to the store for a replacement or a refund because it is not your responsibility to solve that problem.

PCs do not have that luxury; if your shit doesn't work, YOU have to fix it.

Thats rts lighting bro

A PS4 Pro is weaker than a 1060.
It struggles to compete with an RX 470.

I thought the 2080 was almost the same as 1080 except ray tracing.

Are you really downplaying this based on CU counts being similar to current consoles.. on archaic architecture? Yikes. Try harder, mus-tard.

The PS4 was outdated on release.

>I don't know what an RMA is
Oof
No, a 2080 is anywhere from 20-40% faster.

Historically consoles have been about as powerful as three year old laptop hardware at the time of their release. I have no reason to doubt this will be the case again.

to this day i still don't understand what teraflops mean
a measurement of power or something

No, PS5 will just be 1070 performance at best.

Arent the RTX 2080 already overshadowed by both the 2080TI and the 2080 Super?

>2Ghz
Now I have a gaming PC but overall don't know much spec wise, but isn't that shit?

That more expensive xbox will probably be around 2070

PCs not working because you built them incorrectly is a much more common occurrence than a console not working due to a defect.

Stop trying to pick apart my solid point with your unlikely and irrelevant edge cases.
Oh wait, I'm on Yea Forums. Nevermind.

Attached: 0d1.jpg (640x559, 23K)

>PCs not working because you built them incorrectly is a much more common occurrence than a console not working due to a defect.
Only if you're retarded. But then again, you are a consoleturd, so that's pretty likely.

>phoneposting retard
Oof

>doesn't realize how high end the 360 GPU was at the time

Navi 10 lite yeah
No one knows what lite even means but if you were to ask the average person what they thought it meant they would say something that is cut down in some way e.g. bud lite, switch lite etc.

Read my post again this time with some reading comprehension.

Computational performance.

Yeah ok lol

>Oof
so are you

Last time they said a 2070.

I would bet for 1070 TI at best, no more than that, considering the console must not be overpriced. Obviously Im talking about absolute maximum, they could pull off.

>PCs not working because you built them incorrectly is a much more common occurrence than a console not working due to a defect.
What an absolute retard you are mate

>PCs not working because you built them incorrectly is a much more common occurrence than a console not working due to a defect.

Youd have to be retarded to build a pc incorrectly

2GHz isn't shit if it's referring to GPU clock, that would be pretty good both for NVIDIA and AMD. I kind of doubt a console will hit 2GHz on its GPU though, I'm pretty sure that isn't the optimal point on the performance vs. power consumption curve.

If my shit doesn't work I ask for a new part to be mailed out to me.

All that power but where are the G A M E S???

>almost
So it's a 2070 (maybe Super), in a console that won't release before the 3070 has been out for a while.

Impressive.

Most PC GPUs are about 1.5GHz

The navi 10 lite angle makes sense.
If the 5700 XT is this gen's 7870 XT, and the 5700 is this gen's 7870 GHz, then it stands to reason that the Navi 10 life in the PS5 will be like this gen's 7870.
So likely around an RTX 2060 in terms of performance.

They’re promoting TLOU 2
Yeah it’s gonna be dry

3070 is out early next year. 2070 isn't even that impressive its essentially a half step by nvidia because of how shit AMD is at competing with them. 3070 should be massively faster than the 2070 because of the natural improvements which occur when moving to a smaller process like transistor density and and efficiency. 2070 is build on what is essentially the same process as the 1070 with some node tweaks for slightly better density but these GPU are still massive. If we're looking at 2070 performance with these consoles they will be outdated by launch day.

I bet the piece of shit won't even be as strong as a 1660ti.

Will they still lock out mouse and kb and have every game designed around a cuntroller even when it has USB ports?

Okay but when is it out? Tomorrow? This year? Next year? 2 years from now? Technology is moving at lightspeed boys, announcing that a future product will have modern tech is announcing that it will suck balls compared to the actual new tech that will come out near the release of said product, that being said at least it won't be COMPLETLY left in the dust within a year or two like the ps4 was lmao
