The combat in NA is fluid and engaging, and favors player customization to a really high degree with the chips. EVERY Souls game has the same rigid nonsense that isn't fun. Basically, if you like dying a lot, or really old level design and gameplay sensibilities, then souls stuff is for you. I think it's really tedious. Nioh did it better, too. In general though, BB and NA aren't really comparable. Not in narrative design, or combat, or even presentation. They're both completely different flavors of character action.
