>swing 20 times at a simple bat in the tutorial dungeon
>can't get a single hit
>get killed by a fucking bat
>restart
>kill the bat in one single swing
>thief appears
>swing 5 times - hit none
>thief lands every single shot
>get killed by a fucking thief
Whoever thought getting rolls into an action rpg was a good idea is fucking retarded. I guess I'll just have to mod Oblivion or Skyrim again. Fuck, I'll even take ESO instead of this shit.
Swing 20 times at a simple bat in the tutorial dungeon
Git gud, zoomie.
It is your fault.
You started playing this game.
I have no sympathy for self inflicted wounds.
Want no rolls? Action games are thataway
Another reason why Dark Souls is not a proper action RPG
Abuse the save system user. Yeah it's a pain in the ass but the game was rigged from the start.
it's so fucking cool how mich you could do in this game, for example climbing up houses. what happened to geming Yea Forumsros? I want to go back ;_;
Wait until you get your first dungeon quest. I like the game but holy shit are dungeons fucking terrible if you don't use cheats.
>guild quest to find an item in a dungeon at level 2
>level 21 ancient liches inside
>3 hours of wandering around clicking smudges on the floor trying to find the quest item
>clip through the floor and lose 6 hours of progress
dont forget
>get hit because enemies always hit and you always miss
>sometimes beat them
>need to heal
>rest a while
>there are enemies nearby
>there are enemies nearby
>there are enemies nearby
>there are enemies nearby
>finally find a place to rest
>3 hours go by, your health barely goes up
>there are enemies nearby
>die to a fucking bear or warrior
As it should be, it's fucking dangerous to sleep in a tomb or whatever. Vidya RPGs are yet to evolve to include proper warding spells.
>go into a seperate room
>close the door
>theres a smaller room inside of that room
>go in, close that door
>there are enemies nearby
>do the same thing but finally get to rest
>2 hours pass and a fucking bear has somehow jimmied the doors open and is now 3 ft away from me
Rolls only work in pen and paper games. When I'm seeing my character's sword swing across the enemy's chest, I know I'm hitting him and the enemy should take damage. If the computer randomly decides that I missed and the enmy takes no damage, the game is broken.
Did you not put any points in the weapons you are using or something?
Just get that mod that makes hits always land
You need to look at your skill sets user
I did choose axe as a primary skill but the game gave me a sword right away. When I died, I created another character with both long and short blade close to 30 points but I died to the thief.
DF is the biggest fucking meme
Or he was teleported there by a lich
>play Morrowind
>RNG combat insufferable, can't fucking play the game
>leave the game CD to rot
>years later I see it on Steam during a sale
>loved Oblivion so I give it a shot again since I have 0 memory of how it played
>RNG combat still goddamn awful, remembering how I started save scumming as a kid so often it got boring
>luckily mods are common now
>install 100% hit mod and another that makes you run a bit faster
>game is fucking amazing now
Anyone who enjoys this fucking RNG combat in a real time action RPG is mental.
HALT!
How many other games are there where the character creation screen itself is the casual filter?
>Retard who can't punish whiffs and most likely didn't spec into wielded weapon
Were you filtered by the boomer imp?
>Lockpicking as primary
>pickpocket as major
>Language as minor
shit nigger what are you doing
I killed the imp with magic and I invested in skills i planned to use. The game just sucks
You contrarians never cease to amaze me
First you pretend to like trash like Morrowind cause Skyrim and Oblivion are popular but now Morrowind is popular so now you pretend Daggerfall is good
Soon you will say Battlespire and Redguard are good
Based zoomer. Most non-story dungeons take like 20 minutes tops, and that's not using Recall to exit but leaving manually.
You need more than just a skill. Learn to min max, when cresting your character roll for more attribute points and crank up agility so you can actually hit. You can tank luck or charisma if you want so you have more points for shit get matters. This is an old school rpg making a balanced build is worthless
When did you realize Shitterfall was terrible ?
Todd saved this franchise.
Are there not any dragons in the game that you can talk with?
>ancient liches at player level 2
Played Daggerfall several times and never had this happen to me either in vanilla or Unity, nor heard anyone else mention this. Is this bait?
The only thing language skills do is make it so the monster type they correspond with might not be immediately aggressive. And that's only at higher levels, you're better off taking almost anything else as a minor.
Probably guild quest with lich item where you're specifically told you don't have to off the lich, just retrieve the item.
Language skills are useless.
I've gotten randomly generated quests to kill a daedroth hanging out in some villager's bedroom at level 3, so it's not unheard of.
fake "flaw" invented by zoomers
Whoever told you Daggerfall and Morrowind are action RPG's lied to you.
Use a custom character, roll high STR, AGI and SPD, like try and get close to 80+. Take points out of shit skills like PER and Will at the start.
lmao
Archaeologist mod gives languages more uses, also if you're high enough that mob type won't attack you on site which is cool i guess.
there's one enemy called a "dragonling" and it's the only enemy in the game that language applies to. it's quite rare compared to most other high level enemies. also language skills don't let you actually talk to anything
But morrowind IS an action RPG user?
No, back when Morrowind came out that shit was infuriating because it only works in turn-based games or pen and paper.
Stop praising bad game design that literally only Bethesda used for their games.
If you have low luck and have a 5% chance of missing even if you hit because you hit so badly or if you have such a low stamina and strength that you stumble and fall during an attack using a weapon that's too heavy for you, then that is acceptable and might even be fun. But if you miss 70% of the time even if the attack physically connects in a game that isn't turn-based, that's just stupid.
Gonna make a glass cannon spellsword type of deal. Long blade 2h weapons, END as low as is borderline reasonable (30?), no armor maybe for that sweet loot. What else?
just start with mage build then make enough money to transition into melee
im lvl 26 now and I was 100 destruction at lvl 19 and bought long sword skill and regularly used it in combat to reach about 98 in just 7 lvls
money is everything in morrowind , well in every es game
Can someone explain the major differences between something like MW Oblivion & Daggerfall aren't they all basically the same "type" of game where you pick your weapons & skills then just bash the enemy skulls in with swords and magic?
I know the craze for skyrim was huge but I never played attention to all the hype
Lol. That's the only thing people ever mention: climbing. Is there anything else that's neat about this game?
Git gud figger naggot.
Having low endurance in this game is a death sentence, even more so than in Oblivion. Even daedra lords and vampire ancients aren't as dangerous as disease.
I can carry a few potions though. Or magic it away
levitating, teleporting, swoosing right into a room that was generated glitched using climbing magic, stripping your female (female) PC to reduce weight and increase speed whilst lowering endurance loss, chimming, taking out a small loan of a million gold and never repaying it, using a low level open spell to magically unlock all business during closing hours, joining erry guild just because you are chim, getting all 3 endings at once to close the dragon break, also just going to the temple of Dibela to look at sprite titties and going to Nymph dungeons for even more sprite titties.
No, it's just an RPG.
don't drop endurance it will suck
>that literally only Bethesda used for their games.
Nigga what, they didn't even invent that system they copied it from ultima underworld, which was the first 3d action rpg ever. stonekeep did it similarly, though its movement had rails it was still fully real time. Outside of first person games diablo 1 & 2 also used dice roll combat in their action gameplay
The combat bethesda used in arena/daggerfall/battlespire/morrowind was what was expected of those style of games at the time. sure there were always criticisms, people called them boring or too hack-and-slash for a "real" rpg but you didn't hear many complaints about dice rolls themselves until several years later when revisiting them after playing newer games.
Other than dropping PER you can drop some WIL too and be ok. I'd try and shoot for 80 STR, try and get 70+ AGI and SPD. You can keep luck around 50. Even though you want to be caster you don't need to dump a lot into INT, maybe 60+ and then when you level put those points into INT.
You want the STR, SPD, AGI early because you are going to be using your weapons a lot the first few levels unless you get the mana regen mod. I'd recommend 2 weapon skills one in primary and one in major. I'd also take Destruction and Restoration as a primary and a major. The other 4 magic schools can all be minor.
If you go the 11 PER route like I did just know a lot of people will just call you a cunt to your face. Still totally fine though.
It needs to be an interesting challenge though, and I think doing max damage before anything has a chance to hurt you is just that. Doing PER as a dump stat is just regular minmaxing for an OP char
Endurance affects your disease resistance, and every hit from an enemy carries a chance of disease. By the time you find out you have one it's probably too late. Endurance also affects how quickly you heal, so the longer you have to take the greater chance your healing will be interrupted by enemy spawns. Don't listen to , there's no reason to start with your physical stats that high when you can just become a werewolf and get them maxed for free.
Have you ever played DF before? If not, you'll see what I mean about the importance of Endurance very very quickly.
Not really OP, just makes the early game a little bit easier.
I've been to quite a few towns now but I have yet to see a single temple of Dibella, what gives?
>Have you ever played DF before?
To level 6 or so, doing a sneak type restoration/short blade dude. Sneaking hasn't really been that satisfying so I figure I should try something else. I want a gimmick character though so I have to put some thought into how to use my gimmick to solve situations. Hence always having to avoid damage as much as possible or die all the time
Then just do one of the premade classes if you want a challenge lol
RNG combat is fine when it's done like VATS or mainly effects your critical hit rate.
Hell RNG is fine if you have say a sword, and it does between 2 and 10 damage, RNG would be fine here in deciding what damage you do, after you factor in skill levels and such.
Everyone knows that RNG is bullshit when logic overrides it, like missing a shot in X-Com even though you're point blank and using a shotgun
Check the location list for the temple type on the wiki. Certain temples are more common in certain regions. Some regions only have like one or two of some types of temple in the whole region.
Yeah sneak builds are really only viable in Skyrim because of the retarded 30x damage on dagger crits.
You could try this. Premade classes are never GOOD in TES games but in this one not having a properly-designed custom class will screw you over.
Someone on the forums had an idea for a combat overhaul mod that was basically this. You always hit but the minimum damage is low and monsters would have their health rebalanced around it to keep it interesting along with some other mechanics like active blocking and shit. Don't know if it will ever actually get made though.
>active blocking
could that be done now that the game was ported over?
Rolls are good for tabletop only. Most of the early games went with dice rolls. Dont blame you for the outrage, i went through this shit with Daggerfall myself.
Savescum or cheat if you feel the need. This game, appart from roleplaying elements and char customisation, offers very little.
Wanna go King-Fu master. What are the 3 top stats I should focus.
Yes it's actually listed in the "how hard would this be to implement" forum post that is linked in some of the modding tutorials. I think active blocking was like a 5 or 6 out of 10 in terms of difficulty
That actually sounds really damn good.
I never got the hate for VATS, it's a great way to add RPG elements to an FPS imo
video combat is as much an abstract as pen and paper combat you dumb faggot
Dungeons suck ass. Not because of enemies, but because of randomly generated layout that is bloody confusing and nonsensical due to poor textures and rendering.
>get good at rolling dice
Nevermind i just double checked. Active blocking is 2/10 on the difficulty scale, so it will probably happen at some point
>Language skills are useless.
Exhibit #298432 on why Daggerfall is a badly designed game.
I prefer daggerfalls dungeons to most of the later games which are mostly one way halls. I do wish there was more asset and prefab variety though, but that will probably happen at some point with modding
Make sure you pick it as a major skill as well as a specialization "hand to hand" so you'll do more damage & hit things more often
Properly configuring my class to be viable (with some thought) against whatever challenge parameters I set myself is part of the fun though. I don't want to just play a gimped retard, I want to have to strategize and still have it be satisfying and fun
>one way halls
In Skyrim - yes. And still feel better than rng garbage of Buggerfall.
>Items are randomly trapped
>Anything can be trapped, even cloth sacks
>Even traps can be trapped
>And the traps on those traps can be trapped, etc.
>If you’re incredibly unlucky you can disarm a trap on something which triggers the second trap and causes a string of traps attached to other traps until your party is dead.
Fucking Might and Magic.
Daggerfall aimed for the stars
Skyrim bethesda aimed for the foothills

Yeah, anything regarding core game mechanics could be modded with Unity as it is.
The biggest challenge would be deciding on the actual design of an active blocking system.
Daggerfall doesn't have blocking, that was something Morrowind added. Shields are just more armor in this game.
Perhaps something like a system whereby when the shield is lowered its armor doesn't apply but when it's raised and the attacker is in front of you the armor applies to the whole body with some bonus multiplier. Armor in this game works like D&D where it reduces your chance to be hit rather than lowering the damage you take, so this would make you avoid being hit more when your shield is up. This could approximate blocking well without having to totally overhaul the combat system.
Though if what you want is a true action combat system in the vein of skyrim or oblivion then no point doing all that, you'd just throw out the vanilla system and build a new one entirely. This too is possible with Daggerfall Unity.
Buzzwords are cool!
Give me oblivion mixed with daggerfall and it be a 10x better game than skyrim
>shit opinion
>can't fathom people liking games they don't
>muh contrarianism
>can only frame quality of games based on popularity
>double spacing
I wonder how likely it is that spiritual successor actually happens. It'd be funny if they got Bethesda to publish them. Ted Peterson probably still has connections there.
The way it was proposed on the forums by one guy was to use timing to determine the block modifier. The closer you time it to being hit the higher the block chance would be with different shield types having a base block percent. The same mod could easily allow you to block with just your weapon for a chance at a save, as well as potentially adding a parry/riposte system where you could counter attack automatically on successful block with certain weapon types.
Better to have more entertainment than towns with 11 copy pasted buildings
>1:18:13
Whoa that's dedication m8
What spiritual successor?
Two of the lead devs of Daggerfall founded a new studio with the guy who made those videos. All they've said is they're gonna make an RPG but it's pretty clear they want something Daggerfall-esque.
Nintendo has lost their vision.
I WISH SOMEONE WOULD MAKE A NINTENDO VERSION OF THIS
Why would they let this random fan in.
This would be incredible and it would knock besthesda on their ass do they have a name
Sleep on tables and alters and shit instead of the ground faggot
Long blade, blunt or axe for 2h?
Axe always go for the axe m8
>Plays daggerfall but never tried Morrowind
why user
Why though
Long blade because the weapon balance is retarded and dai-katanas are better in literally every aspect
Yep makes these fucking games unplayable. I'll never get people that defend the combat in pre-Oblivion TES games. If you want to play an action RPG that graphically looks like Daggerfall or any old FPS try Hexen with the Wrath of Cronos mod. Its how Daggerfall's combat should play like.
>implying I'm not playing it right now
I just wish the races had more faces to choose from
this happened to me yesterday, got poisoned with no potions and tried to sprint back to closest town through the dungeon only to realize that the entrance got blocked for some reason and die
Doesn't their durability degrade a bit faster? Not that that's a big downside at all.
>Why would they let this random fan in.
He's just the marketing guy, and as I understand it he's the one who brought them back together in the first place. Given how small the team is I'm sure he has plenty of input but he's not designing the game.
I just thought it made more sense to play them in order. I give up on Daggerfall tho, at least until I find a mod to fix the rolls in combat.
I've just installed Morrowind and started a new game to see if it all works fine. Picked an argonian . Pressed Tab. Saw those walking animations. Pure comedy kino.
if you were a vampire or werewolf you would have lived!
>he doesn't play games in release order
their names have numbers for a reason dude
What a damn nightmare.
>say's an announcement will be towards the end of the year
I wonder just how big the're aiming if they really are going to try to capture the "feel" of daggerfall?
>can't make mods if you don't update Unity to the newest version
>Unity has dropped support for 32bit long ago
SHIET
>Daggerfall
Procedurally generates like 90% of content in order to have a fuckhuge playing area and combat is based on dice rolls.
Almost every dungeon in generated as you enter it, except for ones like Privateer's Hold, and since none of them exist until you get there quests just pick a place at random to send you to.
There is a story and some static stuff to work with, but a vast majority of the game is dungeon diving into random dungeons and exploring whatever you're given.
>Morrowind
They did away with the procedural shit for pretty much everything but loot gen and the level scaling monster spawns.
Every dungeon and city is handmade with lots of static loot locations.
The world size took a hit for this obviously, but the quality spiked for it.
Skills and armor got an overhaul with more gear slots added and useless shit like the language skills being removed.
Still uses RNG for combat and the lorefags on the art team went ham with the dunmeri culture on flora, fauna, traditions, and architecture and how unique it is compared to most medieval fantasy.
>Oblivion
The first large step towards modern Elder Scrolls, but still has some remnants of Morrowind's style.
RNG in combat relegated to damage rolls only but the game world is still handmade.
Spellcasting and especially spellmaking/enchanting took a hit with some effects from MW being removed.
Skills and armor got cut down with the number of armor slots dropping from 10 to 5 and total skills dropping from 27 to 21
>potato faces
There's more but my motivation has run out
>Almost every dungeon in generated as you enter it
That's not quite true. Yes they're all randomly generated but not when you enter them. In fact Daggerfall does not have the capability to generate a dungeon at all. Bethesda generated them once and put the results on the disc in a file called MAPS.BSA.
In practice it doesn't really make a difference in terms of gameplay, but it does help with immersion that the world is static and still exists in the game data whether you visit it or not.
Well I guess there is one part of the gameplay that impacts: if you visit a smaller region of the game with only a handful of dungeons you can pretty quickly memorize them all for easier questing.
thanks for the help user even if it was a bit late
i love games with perfect asses like this
How are these skills for a character not focused on combat or heavy magic?
Can I sneak & stab people while being a breton?
This is why you always set a teleport anchor at the entrance
I did but had no mana to recall and resting while poisoned kills you
I don't get why so many people say that Daggerfall couldn't be remade. The game is 95% procedurally generated garbage so generic that it makes Skyrim's "radiant quests" look downright enthralling, with the vast bulk of the game centering around Wayrest, Sentinel, and Daggerfall with a handful of custom-crafted story-related dungeons. They could cut out almost the entirety of the game and still not really touch the core storyline, factions, quests, etc. Yeah, the world-map is the size of merry olde England, but what good is it if it's functionally indistinguishable from any other random locale - especially when the map for Daggerfall is so huge that you already pretty much rely exclusively on fast-travel. They could just remove the open world altogether and make the map more like classic Fallout where the only areas that actually need to be built are select story-related and other important locations and their immediate surroundings - then just use procedurally generated wilderness for random encounters while traveling.
Hell, the main quest-line isn't even that long. A little over half or 3/4s the length of Skyrim's, which just seems longer than it really is because NPCs will tell you to fuck-off for a month or so, letting you fill that time with Guild advancement - which also strongly suggests that you only do a few quests each and then fuck-off for a month or so between advancements in rank.
And if they really wanted to pad out the world on the cheap - they could make the whole thing collaborative. Since it's just a remake/remaster, they'd only really need assets about on the same quality level as Skyrim or Fallout 3/NV - which could be made on the cheap with lower system resources. Then release the creation kit with the express intent for modders to re-create the non-essential locations and then have a team at Bethesda curate them for official distribution via patches. Basically just outsource the filler material to the fans on the cheap.
That's pretty good, and yes you can. Early on you might want to make use of chameleon to help with sneaking because a lot of NPCs will still detect you easily until you're in the 55+ skill range. This is because many NPCs in Morrowind's dungeons have classes like "smuggler" or "rogue" that have high sneak skills themselves, and the higher someone's sneak skill is the more likely they are to detect you sneaking.
maybe because it's the size of a small island & the some user?
Maybe read more than just the first sentience next time. 95% of the game could be removed, and most people would never even notice.
Don't forget Daggerfall had actual nudity & was going to have prostitutes you would have hired for a "good" time
Lies, spread by the perverts at Lovers Lab to justify their sick fetishes. Everybody knows Bethesda has always been an upstanding Christian company, and a beacon of morality in this sick industry.
My only real problem is legit closed off sections by using portals in a dungeon. Has only happened twice and Ive played a lot. Recall IS necessary. Technically. The quest item was never actually in these closed off sections so the quest was completable without it but it would be impossible to know to ignore certain portals. ALWAYS save before entering a dungeon. Other than this Ive never encountered an impossible dungeon. Just click every object and use the map to look for secret doors.
The game is great but you need some internal storymaking to have fun, like Mount and Blade.
I also recommend smaller dungeons if you get easily frustrated. Its the same experience just in shorter bursts so you dont spend 2 hours in one dungeon.
jesus , some people need a hobby
Could also add that there was a gradual shift away from a class-based system from one game to the next, from a rigid system with no customization in Arena to being removed entirely in Skyrim.
I can see why they did it, though. The attribute allocation system sucked ass and encouraged minmaxing, which in Morrowind and Oblivion meant getting more training skills you weren't specialized in than your actual class skills. Some classes were unplayable in Oblivion if you played strictly by major skills, like agents only having marksman for offensive skills and no armor skills at all. I wish they would have had attributes increase with skill gains naturally instead of that multiplier system, but there are mods for that.
>there were prunes even in 1996
You're mostly right but Daggerfall is a very interesting and unique curiosity to play for someone interested in video games. And with the modding opportunities Unity has unlocked, the mind boggles what could happen..
>Yeah, the world-map is the size of merry olde England, but what good is it if it's functionally indistinguishable from any other random locale
that's realism you casual
Redgaurd was fun tho
>boobies bad
>violence good
Jesus, I thought this was a meme. These people need some fucking perspective.
Isn't the queen of Sentinel sequestered in a "hidden" (well, behind the garden and up an elevator anyhow) throne room all to herself, surrounded by half-naked man servants? Both men and women in the game often have their nipples exposed, so you got equality there. Most of the time the women are posed so you can't see their vajayhoos anyhow, and even in the few scenes you can - like the character portraits - they're featureless. You can't really make featureless men though without looking weird, so you kind of have to use a loincloth or undies or something to cover them just out of practicality.
>Not keeping an enchanted item on hand to recharge magic on the fly
it's like you WANT to lose
She has tits retard, she sees them every day. Tits aren't a fantasy, violence is. That's why we think it's okay to show it.
Yes, your part of the world probably disagrees. We don't give a shit.
>violence is just a fantasy in America
wow so true
Bravo, retard.
Unless you are literally 35+ freak you have no reason to touch this garbage.
Daggefall's insane generation can easily cause a dungeon to take hours unless you cheese by having autistic knowledge of blocks and quest item locations.
>casual
There is absolutely no positive gameplay mechanic or loop to be engaged with by wandering around out in the woods like a fucking cretin though. Enemies are so rare out there that they're hardly a challenge or add anything significant to your skill progression, and dungeon entrances are so small and spaced out that you could walk a straight line from one end of the map to the other, and back down the coast of Hammerfall without running into anything.
Realism is one one thing, but the wilderness in Daggerfall is just wasting your time in the worlds largest and most boring walking sim. Desert Bus is a more engaging experience, if only because occasionally a bug will hit the windshield for some excitement.
Well I am, shitheap.
The fuck you gonna do about it?
>NUDE BODY BAD
>DEAD BODY GOOD
Arena and Daggerfall are both utter trash though. They are 100% randomgen with no actual characters or plot.
>he called me a retard
>I know what to do, I'll act even more retarded
I'm going to guess either France or French Canadian.
If you are that old then kill yourself already and if not then "enjoy" playing a shitty game that was panned in '96 as hard as it is panned now.
Can't and I am. Get fucked.
>trash
I was just playing arena last night,it was legitimately amazing and the intro still sends shivers m8
How does it feel to be a massive failure shilling a shitty old dungeon crawler to teenagers? Nobody gives a fuck about you because you're old, you're not cool and not interesting.
>not playing through the classics
look at this guy
Wow, a forgotten piece of shit from DOS. Dude you have so much Yea Forums cred now.
Oblivion and Skyrim are the only playable Elder Scrolls games
>How does it feel to be a massive failure
It sucks but I get by.
>
shilling a shitty old dungeon crawler to teenagers?
It's free and I don't give a shit if you play it or not.
>Nobody gives a fuck about you because you're old, you're not cool and not interesting.
And? Why would I give a fuck if anyone gave a fuck about me?
Do you really think you're any different? Maybe a bit younger sure, but you're here with me. The key difference being that I'm not the one shitposting in a thread about a game I don't even like.
:)
I don't have enough rank to make them, I have like 10 randoms with silence enchant from loot
You've got a lot of time on your hands now that they're not making Five Nights at Freddy's games anymore, don't you.
You can rest inside a dungeon or just outside the entrance to have enemy's respawn and collect the loot for massive amounts of gold
there's actually a cavant that lets you use smaller dungeons added into the unity version
Absolute SHHIIIIITTTT
The attacking is all screwy and shit in this game, worse than Morrowind. Flailing the mouse around hurt my wrists.
So comfy.
Check the options bro.
there's a toggle for that
>playing Daggerfall on a DS
I've been in more fistfights than I have had sex. What's your point?
"Sad." - Donald Trump
I maxed out the Knights and Mages Guild. What do I do now? I'm invincible in combat and money isn't an issue because daedric items sell for a fortune. I tried doing the main quest but it's shit and the randomly generated dungeons are unironically more fun. Are any other guilds any good?
Why does original Daggerfall "feel" different then Unity Daggerfall? I made a exact copy of the same custom class for each one, and for some reason in the original, I kick ass (plus no spam clicking everything, good lord my arm is getting numb from all the clicking). But I go back to Unity, and it's like every enemy and their pet treats me like a punching bag.
Also there's a memory leak with the Unity version. Granted it's not as bad as original Daggerfall where you'd crash every other minute, but after a few hours it gets annoying how the frames drop down and sound sounds repeating/skipping.
The AI got upgraded and now dodges your attacks. Skeletons are gods of war in the unity version.
The unity version isn't a 1 to 1 remake of the game. It is a full makeover of the game to cover every bugfix and what the dev felt was important to include (like destroying the original HUD).
It feels different because it is inherently so.
Yeah I noticed that too I think it has something to do with the rendering
wow this projection. leave user alone bro
RNG is not a definitive trait of RPGs
>I tried doing the main quest but it's shit
That is the only thing of value in Daggerfall deysoo.
If just roaming and doing endless quests is your thing, join the various knights orders and temples and keep going, join the thieves guilds and db if you are more nefarious.
I honestly loved the main story of Buggerfall. After heading to Orsinium through Sheo's portal was very satisfying and deciding the fate of the Numidium felt very satisfactory to me.
He is not playing it, he is living it.
He is inside a house in Daggerfall.
I am using "retro" mode, it's just that it seems like Unity deals with all the stats in a slightly different way. Physics for sure isn't the same, the person making the unity version has admitted that he can't/hasn't implemented it the same way in his version.
Is that battle angel Alita?
if you want a more organic why of finding them you could ask random npcs walking about towns regional questions and if the temple you're looking for is on that list then there is at least 1 in that region
the different guild quest can be really fun too!
You didn't roll your class properly. It's not hard.
Yes
bump
How did you import her head to the game?
MorrOvlivion mod with all the community fixes on their forum works too. Gives you quest markers as well.
What's the best class for a newbie?
Why can't zoomers deal with the possibility of failure? Are they that fragile that a single thing going wrong triggers them?
think I got a bugged NPC here

were you always supposed to be able to lvl up from fast traveling if the distance was huge?
I've seen people talking about a shorter dungeons option. Does that come from a mod? I can't find any mod that seems to do that, but I also can't find the option anywhere in the config menu.
it should be in your configuration file where your save game is
Guys what are the top choices in terms of schools of magic? I played a suicide run to experience the controls and starting dungeon, now I'm ready to create a character and begin the game for the first time. I want to roleplay as a destructive, mystic knight
How would a guy access this without fucking up my save? Asking because I'm retarded
yeah that's normal, your skills rise when you rest or fast travel based on how much you used them prior
I died right after taking this screenshot
last one from me night lads VENGEANCE
Destruction, Restoration, and Alteration for combat.
Mysticism, Illusion, and Thaumaturgy for utility.
No it's not your flowery retard. If I'm watching my sword hit an enemy and RNG tell me it missed, that's a huge disconnect.
You can get away with it with pen and paper because it's nothing BUT abstract. Just a group of virgins in a circle roleplaying, pretending their mums gown is a wizards robe.
In a game the player has agency, in a pen and paper rpg the virgin only has as much agency as the master allows.
Is playing as a pure mage in this game supposed to be borderline impossible? I'm a High Elf mage with Increased Magery 3.x, with maxed Willpower and Intelligence, and I still cannot get through a single dungeon without running out of spell points first.
you need a mod that lets you regen your magica while idle
>I still cannot get through a single dungeon without running out of spell points first.
The only way to avoid resting every couple fights as a mage is the spell absorption bonus at character creation and AoE spells like Fireball.

What's Todd's response?
God you are stupid.
No you are not watching your sword hit, you are watching your sword swing which is what the clicking of the mouse is, only a swing, an attempt, the probability of connecting is based on your stats in relation to the enemies.
Why can't you grasp this, because the miss is not animated? That's what the miss represents, an enemy dodging your attack.
Your argument is nothing but you not liking stat based rpgs, that's it.
>What's Todd's response?
Probably just suggested she buy another copy of Redguard Adventures. But really...

You don't respond to parasites. You extract them with tweezers and burn them with a match.
were the realms of oblivion part of daggerfall's lore or did they come later?
