No, just as people fear if they go to US theyll be involved in a shooting or if they go to Europe theyll be a victim of a bombing. It happens. It doesnt happen everywhere. It doesnt happen all the time. But it happens. If you dont bother anyone your chances of encountering sometthing like that are less than a shark attack on you, which also is very very rare but weirdly enough thats the case with people and the ocean as well. My uncle has encountered himself with a cartel that wanted to pass theough his land because “it was faster for them than going around” and he was mad and told them no, piss off. First few days they kept asking him, they were cordial and polite “please sir we dont want anything to happen to you and im sure your family needs you” again my uncle told them to fuck off, so they went to my aunt instead and told her they were part of a cartel, her husband isnt thinking rationally and hopes she can talk sense into telling him to let hem pass. In the end my uncle let them pass through his land. Again cartel are assholes but they dont just kill people. Nobody wants the cartel around them, but as long as you dont bother them they dont bother you.
My aunt described this encounter like a scene from the godfather. Pretty weird
