Reddithumor, grind and microtransactions: the game

Shit man I got to 51 and I haven't spent a dime. The only thing I spent more than an hour grinding for was those Knight XZ blueprints from that recent arena event

Explain why

I actually beat it with free items alone
But yes its a fucking terrible grind with nothing to look forward to and some of the worst mechanics i ever witnessed on any free to play game period

Also its legit pay 2 win some of these decals that you can buy with real money make you super op doesnt matter if you use shrooms or not people will rape your ass if they have better gear

Its not about using the death metals to bring you back to life which in 99% of cases is completly fucking useless and just a waste of money
Its about getting premium decals and becoming a fucking monster just terrible pay 2 win mechanics

I really liked the aesthetic of it, too bad it was p2w
If it had a full retail version with no microtransactions I'd buy it in a zinch

No you didn't. You would've quit long before F30 if you truly hated the game, the nature of the game becomes clear well before that point

That may be true at this point, I reached the top when the game first came out and I went back to play some more when they added those new randomized floors, I haven't been keeping up with what kinds of decals they've been adding since then. I can tell you though that it's easy to succeed in the TDM even without any OP decals, you just have to know what targets to pick and how to not become a target yourself.

I love this game. I love the aesthetic it's some of the best in vidya. But the p2w fucking ruined it as devs constantly nerfed any advantage you had

Isn't this game dead? I followed GungHo on Twitter for a bit waiting for Grandia news and they'd always post shit about this saying "if we get 300 likes everybody gets a free medal" and it would take like over a week for them to reach 300 likes.

If you played that far without realizing that you hate the game then you wouldn't really have done anything useful with that time anyway. The game starts to push back once you reach Crowley's area and it only ramps up from there, it's impossible to be unaware of the grind and the punishment for mistakes at that point.

It's not like a multiplayer game that you can keep playing indefinitely and it'll keep you entertained, you either reach the top of the tower or you don't, there's no reason to keep playing past that

Oh yeah, I can see that now by the dates. The start of the game's lifespan didn't have those weekly/monthly challenges with the metal rewards, you had to farm them through bosses and golden chests, which is where a lot of the game's grind came from

I like a good challenge even if its unfair
Also it can be fun at times
However everything after F40 is absolute pure and utter autism

This deadbeat game deserved what it got. Yearly “updates” and tedious, unfun, mandatory grinding ruined it, plus the shitty “community”. Games dead on steam and easily has less than 1K on PS4. Every event is shitty. Fuck oberlinx, Fuck Kaito, Fuck admirapanther, Fuck hindesite, Fuck alucard, and Fuck Let it die!
