>play Nintendo Switch for four months >analog drift
Granted it started happening shortly after I collected my 700th moon in Mario Odyssey but why make games that require so much movement if your controller is going to be shit?
My GameCube and Wii controllers are still fine 10-15 years later.
>underpowered >gimmick >supposedly a handheld but too large and performs better docked >dock scratches screen >cheap, flimsy joycons >library consisting of rehashes, shovelware, the worst versions of multiplats and kiddie games. >insufferable, delusional community >manchildren love it >system of choice for trannies and the morbidly obese. >smash tournaments known for being comprised of people with no concept of personal hygiene >an embarrassment to be seen playing in public >horrible online, overpriced. >console is overpriced, very low value in general >often referred to as several derogatory names, some examples include “cucktendo shitch” or just “shitch”, “Fischer price tablet” or more rarely the “NINtENDO SWItCH” (the lowercase t’s representing the low testosterone of the typical Nintendo console owner) I could go on but I think we’ve all seen enough to agree that owning a Nintendo Switch is undesirable.
Tyler White
The longer Nintendo fans continue to deny these issues the longer Nintendo won’t address them.
Even my Dad’s wii U got joycon drift from only playing BOTW.
Jack Martinez
>wii u >joycon
snoyggers are fucking desperate.
Easton Morgan
Does analog drift happen on the pro controller?
Benjamin Bell
Don't handle your video games like a fucking neanderthal. I have not heard a single good criticism on the switch, just a bunch of nonsense from elitist retards. Keep seething niggers
Joseph Moore
Take the cap off the stick and blow on it.
Sebastian Thomas
Seriously, must suck to be so poor and think 20 dollars a year is "overpriced" Its literally pennies a day.
Landon Perry
I still don’t have analog drift and bought a used switch like over a year ago
Robert Lee
Analog stick or whatever it’s called I’m not lying my dad had to order more and replace them.
Kayden Phillips
>manufacturing defects are unworthy of criticism You nincels are insufferable, literally brainwashed.
Isaiah Peterson
It’s pretty bad for me I was playing BOTW recently and link will walk to the left randomly and gets stuck like that.
Christian Gray
I’ve been dealing with some pretty strong drift on my left joycon for maybe half a year now.
It’s very annoying and causes me to die every now and then, but I’ve gotten used to fighting it. Would almost seem weird it not being there now. For example in Zelda, while aiming my bow, I know if I move a certain way, drift will almost certainly happens. So I have to readjust to stick to cancel it out. It’s a habit now.
I also use it as an auto run feature, all I gotta do is hold down the sprint button. It’s actually kinda nice for traveling in Zelda.
Worst part is this is coming from the company that spent the majority of the N64’s development focusing on the analog stick and perfecting it but they haven’t made a competent controller since the Wii’s release.
Gavin Flores
>mfw I got my Switch a month after launch and have zero issues with anything.
only thing defective here is your brain. Go back to playing Minecraft with the other 12 year old autists.
Brody Bennett
At least it’s easy enough to replace but what will switch lite owners do when they get it? Are they going to be fucked?
Nathan Hill
Motherfucker, Nintendo was just about to get sue for this shit. Where the fuck have you been?
Ethan Reed
>but they haven’t made a competent controller since the Wii’s release. It's fine that you didn't own a Wii U but you wouldn't understand unless you've held that tablet.
Jaxon Turner
Nobody cared until Kotaku printed an article about it. It's been a known issue since launch but it didn't explode at all until that article.
Carter Lopez
>underpowered >gimmick >supposedly a handheld but too large and performs better docked >dock scratches screen >cheap, flimsy joycons >horrible online, overpriced
^These are all good objective criticisms. Why add all the Switch owner shaming too though? It makes your points hard to take seriously by association. Also, do not forget the Switch has literally the highest system-level input latency of ANY console released to date! Every fucking game just feels sluggish and unresponsive. Sure, with enough practice you can become acclimated to it and even perform well in games like SSBU, but even overcoming the latency with pure skill alone does not get rid of how terrible the games FEEL to play. It literally feels like moving through molasses.
>not instantly buying a pro controller or 3rd party alternative.
Plebs all of you. If you dont use the joycons for basic games while using a pro controller for a proper game then its your fucking fault.
>B-But its tooooooo expensiiiiive
Shut up you poor baby, thats what the 3rd party alternatives are for, half the price for the same thing but missing a couple of things that make no fucking difference.
>not instantly buying a pro controller or 3rd party alternative. >Plebs all of you. If you dont use the joycons for basic games while using a pro controller for a proper game then its your fucking fault.
The Pro controller has the WORST input lag out of all the Switch's controller options, user.
okay... what does that mean if im just playing games for fun? If i were an autistic fortnite or fgc competitive player then yeah id shoot myself cos id be too dumb to realize the pc is better anyways. But im not, i just wanna play the fun nintendo games(like hyrule warriors definitive edition, damn thats fucking fun).
Though one thing i did glosee over was that mario odyssey need joycons to play properly and i apologize for forgetting about you lads. You guys are fine and i understand your joycon pain. The rest however have no fucking excuse.
Christian Barnes
I do have one and and the analogs needed to get replaced
Isaiah Sanders
Manly types are more my thing
Angel Cooper
Well maybe they should’ve focused more because the N64 analog stick is shit
Ryder Watson
>replying to a pasta
Jose Hall
Can you post a pic of your shoes?

It's not merely about being competitive, user. In fact, competition-wise you'd be better off since literally all your opponents will be dealing with the same shit, essentially placing everyone on an even playing field (with the exception of crossplay titles, of course). The issue is that the unresponsiveness of the controllers just simply makes the games less enjoyable. Unless you're playing a turn-based RPG, or something else that's largely menu-based, it's gonna feel like a compromised experience. I've owned a Switch since November of 2018, and every month or so I feel the intense urge to sell it due mainly to the atrocious input lag. Only reason I am keeping it currently is to play Pokemon SwSh (buying it USED, calm your tits) when it releases in a few months. If there's one thing I'll give Nintendo credit for with this system, it's the 720p IPS glossy screen. That shit looks downright beautiful, especially when playing games that run at a native 720p. Hell, even a shitty Gamecube-tier game like LGPE looks fucking amazing on that screen due to the high pixel density.
I bought the new fancy colored Joycons after my old grey ones got jacked up. A year and a half later. I have yet to have a problem with them. I guess I'm pretty lucky, I don't know what everyone else is complaining about
>Worst part is this is coming from the company that spent the majority of the N64’s development focusing on the analog stick and perfecting it and it was still a piece of shit that broke down from regular use and even drilled holes in people's hands from playing mario party. the gamecube analog stick was the best and they never should have changed it.
I wish there was a version of that pic where the two Joycon girls were lolis instead owo
Nicholas Cruz
right, i think i get what your saying, took me a while because i actually have never noticed any input lag at all. (only time is with Muse dash and then thought i wasnt being precise enough). Im playing quite a few different games and ive never had problems, it might just be my perception.
Look, after years of playing all all the controllers which have the same shape, the joycons feel hella weird to me, and i also got big hands with fat fingers. damn that clip is fun, might try that one day if i have lots of disposable incoming key word being if.
>took me a while because i actually have never noticed any input lag at all. >Im playing quite a few different games and ive never had problems, it might just be my perception.
You should count yourself lucky. I WISH I couldn't perceive the input lag, but I just can't help it. Grew up playing NES~GCN so even the jump to Xbox 360/PS3/Wii was a huge hurdle for me. I thought it was a one time thing that would now become the new standard, due to the shift to wireless controllers. Was a fair trade-off, I thought. Little did I know it was a problem that'd keep getting worse and worse with every generation. I've heard speculation on the part of tech analysts that more complex graphical flourishes (namely effects that increase the post-process pipeline) are to blame for the increase of latency in todays AAA games. But then there's simplistic games like Hollow Knight on the Switch or Yooka-Laylee on the PS4... genuinely unplayable if you ask me. Or at the very least excruciatingly uncomfortable to play. The Xbox One consoles are the only current gen offerings that do not have significantly more lag than the 360/PS3 generation; but do I honestly want to buy a goddamn Xbone with zero exclusives and boring, monotonous, soulless excuses for games? It's a shame since I'm a "consolefag", never owned a decent rig in my life. Not many options left but to take the plunge with either a prebuilt pc or a gaming laptop as far as I can tell. I just wish this shit wasn't so fucking expensive; the stuff I'm looking into currently is like $2,000~$3,000 ffs...
So do you think they have fixed the problem with the switch lite and the new joycons?
Brandon Jones
>snoyfags are SEETHING LOL, COPE more.
Parker Cook
>have Switch since launch >played around 1200 hours >no scratched screen >no warped console >no joycon drift really makes me think Yea Forums, do I have some kind of magical Switch from a parallel universe?
