I'm okay with paying for roms if you put some care and value into it that I couldn't just get from epsxe and iso's problem whatever
But they didn't do that. Didn't even bother to check the region of their games before tossing them in there. Just awful
>weak SBC
>uses an open-source community emulator
>said emulator isn't configured properly
>uses 50hz PAL versions of games in order to have a higher coverage of languages, these games run slower
>no border options or other extras normal emulators have, just states
>doesn't even come with dualshocks
the game selection
also nintendo's retro lineup honestly holds a lot more cultural weight than sony's, and sony's retro console cost more than either of nintendo's iirc
the region stuff would have been a non-issue for some people if the game selection was better, but it screams slapped-together regardless
the lack of dualshock controllers was a huge bummer too, especially when some of the ps1's most defining games needed them
no ape escape
Its a literal soulless cash grab that pretty much says "we dont even care or know anything about our OG fans but hey nintendo did it so have this" out loud. Only Sony would be able to do something this lifeless.
t. Sonyfag since PS1.
the thing is the PS1 has one of if not the greatest libraries of all time.
But licensing issues probably fucked up any hope of anything good being included.
Honestly the NES/SNES minis are overrated, but they were far more professionally put together both in terms of games and the overall interface.
Playstation classic looks barely official.
Here's what the PS classic looks like: youtu.be

it's worth the 20 bucks they're going for new now, considering how you can mod them to fix all of their problems.
there's a ton of psx classics outright missing from this "playstation classic"
and half the games on it aren't even the right region
it was a corporate product that literally anyone with an internet connection and who wasn't a complete retard could make for $40. Instead of including the games people want, they included games they could get pending copyright issues and the fact that a lot of the great ps1 classics they want to remake (in the distant future) and they charged 3 times what it was worth.
>especially when some of the ps1's most defining games needed them
muh ape escape. The original dualshock was underutilized and often was just a lazy copy-pasted d-pad mapping.
Your cock if it curves to the right
maybe but even when it was mapped to the dpad it was often times worth using in 3D games.
Also people would have loved to get USB reproduction DS1s, I know I would have.
It would've been incredibly easy to do this right and they still somehow managed to be so lazy they fucked it up.
>hacked it via ftp to enable ntsc without using a thumb drive
>can't remove bilinear filtering
I fucking hate this thing.
nothing went wrong. unlike certain other fanbases, sonychads were too smart to waste money on a nostalgia cash grab when roms and emulators are free.
they made a nogaems version of a console that had god games, only decent things are Syphon Filter and FFVII
>>can't remove bilinear filtering
what the fuck
I hope you're mistaken, that would be irredeemable trash if true
Mine curves to the left.
Cuck
PSX has no games.
Nah, usb twin sticks are ubiquitous. I appreciate seeing pre-dualshock ps controllers again. If we get reproduction dualshocks, I'd rather see the dualshock 2 with pressure sensitive buttons again.
Nah fuck that.
I've been using my DS1 with a USB adapter for years, it's better than the 2, 3 and 4.
But I'm cannibalized a few other ds1s to maintain it, I'd rather just get an official reproduction that's USB.
>non dualshock version
what the ACTUAL FUCK were they thinking?
You can only do it via bleemsync, but I don't want a USB sticking out controller port 2 all the fucking time.
Bad games, bad emulation, no analog stick.
I'm with you on that one brother
>bleem
nice branding.
Yeah that sounds like a cunt, I'm currently using my switch for emulation since it actually works pretty well.
Obviously not using Beetle-psx but PCSX-R runs great even in handheld mode.
I only cared about Persona 1 and Metal Gear Solid out of all the games it had.
They rush it for the christmas season.
Requires a hacking community to make it relevant again. Once you hack it, it's pretty good. Doesn't justify the development team's incompetence, though.
No one actually likes sony games, their fans just pretend to like them in order to be cool like the guy on the advertisement.
I got into the PSX really late. The PS2 was already out for awhile.
I got lucky and only played Dualshock enabled games for years (the Resident Evil trilogy, Silent Hill, Ridge Racer Type 4, Metal Gear Solid, Parasite Eve, Final Fantasy 9, Wipeout 3, etc.).
Turns out this was the minority of the library, and the vast majority of games required you to actually use the horrendous D-Pad on the PSX controller unironically.
As someone who grew up with a niggy64... how did you deal?
But i legit like playstation 1 and 2 era.
But yeah most sonyfags are PS3 and 4 zoomers that grew up with movie games and QTE fests. its a shame, and i feel ashamed of even thinking about calling myself a sony fan. because Sony is the most soulless company of all 3 big ones. even Xbox is better than them. They became such a group of cuckified nu-males and soulless corporative entity that its not even funny anymore its just downright sad.
Shit lineup.
That is not what people want. The nintendo ones are a nifty little novelty but for playstation people want a way to play their playstation and PS2 games on their HDtvs. The playstation 3 and Vita already play most PS1 games and I'm pretty sure it plays all the ones on the PSClassic, so what would the point of that be?
Playstation fans don't gobble up any shit Sony makes unlike Nintendo.
They did not send their best.
