I love Kirby, I'm just indifferent to Bandana Dee, despite having enjoyed his first appearance in RtDL a lot, probably my favorite of the main 4 playable characters.
I however believe that, despite less people having played them, it is more important to represent the Shinomura Era of Kirby Games than the Kumazaki Era of Kirby Games: Dreamland 2 and the games that followed set the foundation for many reoccuring themes within old & new Kirby. It also has no shortage of characters to choose, my preference going to Gooey for his versatility ( Can copy abilities, was given a more clear cut moveset in Star Allies, can incorporate Animal Buddies into his moveset, as well as elements of Dark Matter )

He'd also be a port of the Spear ability into Smash for the most part (would probably dip into Parasol since he's used it in Battle Royale and it's the only other handheld weapon Waddle Dees are shown using) and that's not really deep enough for a full character without the entire gimmick behind him being that he uses a spear.
He probably did, the only thing specifically unique to Bandana Dee in that game is a charging thrust -> pole-vault move that was added in an update and will probably be back-ported to Spear in general the next time it appears.

As for content he'd bring from the Kuzumaki games, he *could* bring something new to the table, but given that he's been in SSU, Sakurai would probably take the alternate solution of just giving him something Super Star related. Have you played Star Allies? The staff has the same spear moveset except you can actually jump with it.

That means there’s nothing unique about Dee in star allies, if anything Dee is a less functional Staff, absolutely pathetic.

He's brave and doesn't want to be left out, but also self-concious of what he could do next to big hitters like Kirby, Meta Knight, and Dedede. He's loyal to Dedede, but he can also realize when he's going too far or being a huge dick, in which he'll either try to talk him out of it or side against him if need be.

They're disjointed hitboxes, often extending in a straight way rather than a slashing motion (like Down aerial, Down and Up Smash).

I mean, if we're comparing Corrin to Bandanna Dee here, Bandanna Dee's generic melee sequence, Down Air and helicopter jump also don't really have particularly big hitboxes for example. It's only a few specific attacks that really push that (Pretty much only the Upwards and Downwards thrust, alongside the new ground rush added by Star Allies' final update)

As someone who's played every Kirby game with Bandana Dee, he doesn't deserve to be in. In Triple Deluxe and Robobot, all he does is give you food items, which is not that important to either's story. In the games he's actually playable in, He's just a reskin of the Spear ability, with like one special move unique to him. Meta Knight and Dedede have been in Kirby for 25 years and are unique enough. Bandana Dee isn't.

Would rather have other franchises repped or be given a 2nd rep. Marx or Dark Matter would be more interesting as well.

Honestly, he would just be a more useful version of tails, they can already both fly like a helicopter. Now that I think about it, his story could be a mix between tails and omega.

Adeleine is a good kid. One human being, an alien on Pop Star, is a very good idea especially with the atmosphere and storytelling Shimomura went for. She brings a more grounded and human perspective to the series, and being an artist, she likes to absorb life in a quintessentially human sort of way. If there were several humans it would be a bad idea, but she ends up being just a unique and different addition to the cast. Shimomura clearly put a lot of effort into developing her beyond just being a human kid, too. She's a really natural addition to the cast despite being so different, she doesn't overshadow Kirby or Dedede, and she makes a really good foil to Kirby, Dedede, and Waddle Dee, in design and personality. She also makes a great foil for Meta Knight in theory, which the writer of Brawl in the Family demonstrated well. I would argue that she is just as good a character as Meta Knight, but for completely different reasons.
