Bros, just do what I did. Start again and keep a save file at chapter 2 or 3 for comfy free roam. I've racked up countless hours just exploring and having spontaneous cowboy adventures. I could do with the same with my completed save but I wanted to go back to Arthur. Chapter 3 is better for the guns and dead eye you have available by then, but you also have to watch Arthur get sick again. Chapter 2 has best camp and overall feel.

You still can on horseback. In a way it's kind of funny that they turned a limitation/artifical world barrier in the first game into a character trait imo. Swimming as Arthur isn't really that viable of a way to get across larger bodies of water anyway considering how fast it drains your stamina in comparison to how slow you actually swim.

It's not funny, its retarded. Nobody fucking instantly dies as soon as they hit water. It is completely unnecessary and makes hitting water a death sentence. And as that guy said you can't even swim down waterfalls and rushing water which is very fun.
