Why didn’t sekiro leave a lasting impression compared other soulsborne games?

Because you can't replay it.

Easily From's best game to date.

it did for me but it has little replayability

gonna be forever sad if there's no dlc

Attached: owl ill likes fire.webm (960x540, 2.94M)

its basically a darksouls movie game on rails

It did tho.

The fuck is this weapon?

MLGS

Because it's aesthetic is not nearly as KINO as Bloodborne or souls.

Attached: 1542921713750.png (420x420, 9K)

It's a mod.

It was standard and forgettable.

low replay value
no real unique builds
no COOP
no PvP
no funny invader/host trolling vids

Splitting between minibosses and actual bosses, with many minibosses being hypergimmicks like the long arm centipedes or the ashina elites, made a lot of the game less memorable. Less regions because they're each defined by their main boss and you also have the same castle zone reused 3 times. The other games had more "bosses" and more zones associated individually with each of them, which made the game more memorable, even if it's just a question of presentation.

This is really not impressive if you know what's going on.

Because it's a multi-platform game that everyone actually played so you don't have any sunken cost damage control building a mythology around a single game that most people either didn't play or payed at least $300 for the privilege to play

No online, less memes.

No online, boring after one play through. And this

But it did leave an impression on me it is the best game of 2019 and anybody that says anything different has shit taste

This picture makes my blood fucking boil.

I think it does leave a big impression, there's just not as much to talk about. Story and lore are more upfront than Dark Souls so no deepest lore threads, no pvp/coop so no build threads, no different armor so no fashion threads, characters are well written but aren't as memorable or endearing as Solaire or Onion Knight.

The only true answer.

Ocd kids crying about their shitty pvp and le epic troll invasions.

Zoomers have ruined gaming.

it got kinda boring after the first playthrough because there's hardly any variety to what you can do.

because sekiro dont have """""builds"""""" and shitty stats + lvl to grind for casuals

it has no ebin multiplayer pvp so zoom zooms skipped it

It got rid of autistic build min maxing and laggy PvP

There's a shitload of lore though, and it's actually based on existing religions and mythologies so there's no end to how far you can analyze it.
Every budhist text and shinto mythology and folklore is, potentially, Sekiro lore.
The fact that it has a clear cut story *on top* of the typical soulsborne style obscure item description "the world is the story" lore shit does not detract from that.

I don't disagree but I've only seen maybe one or two threads where there's someone competent enough to actually delve into that stuff, while in more Dark Souls lore threads, it's in-world stuff that's easier to theorize and discuss.

I just started the game, but I'm at work now. I just want to go home and play more bros

No builds. No magic. Just the same shit every time you play it.
Sekiro was great, but it lacked everything it needed for anyone to ever replay it after the first few playthroughs.

The main problem with sekiro isn't that you only have one main weapon, is that all you really need is r1 and l1. The combat arts slot should have been replaced with a move list like a fighting game, and spirit emblems removed with prosthetic tools made close to mandatory

This. The boss fights are very replayable since how the posture damage ramps up, however the exploration goes from amazing to a chore and all you want to do on your other playthroughs is fight bosses. There is a mod called bossfights on the nexus though.

Because you’re a whiny Soulsbabby who’s still butthurt he can’t play dress up. Sekiro was better than all other Soulsbornes combined

The castle zone being reused 3 times was great. So was the ashina elite first gimmick (it was cool).
Also that webm is very impressive: He is using tools in a fight.

Reminder that shitters don’t have opinions worth listening to

>muh replayability
This meme needs to die. Fucking around with prosthetics, getting the 4 endings, doing charmless bell runs and speedrunning each ng while demolishing the bosses is more than enough to anyone who isn't some addicted retard who needs to play dressup and look at different particle effects. Reminder:
>there is little to no difference between pyro, mage or faith builds other than different coloured spells and cast speed
>gameplay always boils down to r1 r1 roll no matter which melee weapon you equip
>armour only matters insofar as roll speed goes
>the only covenants that matter are the ones that allow for invasions
In souls you're going though the same places with a build that always plays roughly the same no matter what, at least sekiro has a good combat system with a higher skill ceiling instead of braindead r1 rollfest

Damn 6% have every achievement? Game must be cake

>he thinks i only mentioned no replayability because of builds

Sekiro is the best game From has ever made.

They took the actual fun aspects of Souls, cut out the bullshit and just focused on making a few things as fun as possible. It's the closest they've gotten to making a perfect game.

Sekiro is style over substance
Souls games are substance over style

Attached: 374847262837.jpg (2560x1920, 1.72M)

because it should've been a tenchu game

and also because the combat is just about parrying with even an onscreen guide to tell you when to press the button.

Attached: 418526945869.jpg (349x280, 20K)

addicted retards who need to play dressup and look at different particle effects ARE the ones making souls games leave an impression. act all you want like self imposed challenges equal actual replayable game design, act like everyone except 100%ers isn't just gonna watch the endings they don't feel like replaying to get on youtube. you do you. but at the end of the day, people are gonna want to replay an RPG more if they get to, you know, make a unique character.

Because it sucks just as much as Dark Souls 2 and 3, if not worse since there's less replayability

Because your taste is very low.

Pooahaki has literally never made a good game

>awful, awful, awful, and braindead, combat system
>majority of bosses suck, only 2 or 3 good ones come to mind
>not as good as tenchu or any souls game
>no variety

pleb count itt

The fact that you're still talking about it must suggest something.

>Souls games
>substance

I bet you think Borderlands is full of substance as well

>no funny invader/host trolling vids

> funny

le epic trolls. XD
A whole industry is built on stupid kids being toxic in communities and generally shit to each other.

This game sucked. Horrible brown pallette. Boring enemies and bosses. It was basically Ass creed with slightly better combat.

Shit game, play Dark Souls 3

spoken like someone who worships the Big Black Cock

slow motion sekiro webms are the equivalent of combo vids in tales threads and both are posted exclusively by fags

Do you worship the Big Black Cock as well?

Not even half of you played the game, did you?
