I loved Infamous 2. Is second son any good?

The general consensus was that it was a step backward from the previous two

Fun fucking around with powers in Shitattle, but without doubt 100% this

Didn't it get a ps4 game?

it got worse with each installment. 1 is fantastic, 2 is good, second son was very meh

big yikes. the first one is mediocre and only got better in the second. acquire a clue.

I wouldn't say InFamous is forgotten. If you want an actually forgotten early PS3 game, HAZE always comes to mind. Resistance faded into obscurity, too.

I always thought of it as the 'Halo of Playstation', first one was a ton of fun and I split screened it with one of my good friends. Never played any of the others, though I heard they weren't as good

Attached: Resistance_Fall_of_Man.jpg (256x299, 95K)

>haze
>forgotten

what planet are you on? People still make fun of this

Fucking embarassing post and awful taste, the first one is vastly superior to the second in all regards.

That's all it's known for though. Like Remember Me. No one remembers anything about the actual game itself. The only thing I remember about it is that you lose the suit halfway through and get forced to join some shitty rebellion resistance group.

I'd say Prey if they hadn't done that awful reboot

>t.only plays AAA games

Resistance 2 was actual garbage, like it wanted to be more like modern CoD games without any of the speed

Resistance 3 was great though

2 is ok, once you get used to how different it is there's still a fun campaign in there. 3 was not good though. The PSP game was better than it had any right to be and is the only other game in the series that feels consistent with the first game. Never played the Vita game. The first one is by far the best one though and the series had a pretty severe identity crisis going on with how each game was so different from one another.

Sorry nobody remembered your shitty indie game after the first week of release, user.

I watched gameplay run throughts of 2 and 3 though never played either. 3 looked more like the original, 2 seemed to want to be more futuristic, though both looked like they'd of been really fun with a bro split screen

One day....

Attached: 15809488224.jpg (1920x1080, 872K)

Yes. The story and characters are unfortunately very weak and the game is short, but the gameplay is fantastic. Was a graphical benchmark for the industry for a while too, it looked great. Overall fun and worth playing if you liked the first two, but Delsin is no Cole and the story was not nearly as connected to the events of the first two games as it should have been. It lacked the same emotional core and it doesn't resonate as much.

I though that was Killzone. Not that i've played either series mind you.

I didn't really like either of these two games, but more from an execution standpoint, as I liked the concept.

It was a ps3 exclusive at ps3's launch, and you could tell it was drawing inspiration from Halo with it's combat, healing short damage, and weapons, only set in a fictional 1950's world

Killzone is really nothing like Halo, it's its own thing. Resistance was faster paced like Halo. Both series were a lot of fun, very satisfying shooters.

I remember russian lady, awful helicopter battle and that final boss looked better in the concept arts

>TFW The history of SP's games felt like an evolution of great platforming mechanics as they went from Rocket to Sly to Infamous
>TFW Second Son was a disappointment due to being a launch title but expected the next Infamous to be a return to form
>Years of fucking waiting to find out they are tossing all of the platforming mechanics they had built for years out the fucking window to make another fucking bland open world game where you ride a horse and crouch to do stealth

Zone of The Enders. KojiPro buying up the rights and making it in Decima would be a dream come true.

Objectively wrong.

Online co-op for 2 was great fun.

Vigilante 8/Interstate 76 - Both would be nice but even one of them would be fantastic to see again

Please, I’ll take just a port if I have to

>Resistance 3 was great though
>3 was not good though.

I played Resistance 3 not too long ago. I agree with the first user. 3 is a great return to form, I should've played it sooner. 2 strayed way too far away from its fundamental mechanics, although its online co-op was good.

If they ever make a Resistance 4 they should merge the best aspects from 1, 2, and 3: 3's|1's singleplayer + 2's online co-op + 1's multiplayer.

It's just a PS4 tech demo, but it's fun for like 10 hours.

I'll never not be mad at how under-utilized the smoke powers were and how they were abandoned the second you got neon. The sheer number of applications that could have been applied are just stupid yet the devs were more stupid than the numbers and couldn't do shit with it. Didn't like the characters either and I can't remember a single thing from the plot.

>It's just a PS4 tech demo,
this is what pissed me off so much.

they could have done so many cool things with the multiple powers but instead you have almost the same exact move set but just with a new special effect overlay.

We will get Desperados 3 somewhere this year which is a very similar game in gameplay, but still I would love to see my boys back.

Attached: Commandos.jpg (1024x768, 214K)

Another Dredd game please, Rebellion need to stop sitting on all these 2000ad IP's like fucking faggots and actually make some god damn games other than fucking sniper elite

Attached: header.jpg (460x215, 35K)

I mean there is a commandos 2 HD remaster on its way. It wouldn't surprise me if we get a new game, Kalypso implied they wanted to make a new one when they acquired the property.

I just want stealth games man. I despise how the last two generations have replaced the stealth genre with action shit with stealth elements.

The fucking retards at Ubisoft just announced the other day that they plan to bring back Splinter Cell as a "new kind of experience". FUCK YOUR CREATIVITY, JUST GIVE US MORE CHAOS THEORY, EVERY ATTEMPT TO TAKE THE SERIES IN A NEW DIRECTION HAS BEEN FUCKING WORTHLESS.

Its gonna be on mobile or a live service and you will learn to love it, user.
AAA games have really fallen hard over the past few years

you can look at more AAA shit going mobile as more space for smaller non mobile shit games to have more presence.
Imagine a fall, where indie / AA games could actually release, instead of being pushed back to next year because September-December are basically suicide for small games to release in.

Excavation was the definition of COMFY. THE THINGS I WOULD DO TO BRING THIS GAME BACK

Attached: maxresdefault (4).jpg (1280x720, 107K)

Yeah, each installment is worst that the previous one, but I still like this series. I wish for a proper fourth game that will bring back the more rpg aspects, but that's not likely.

Attached: 72099-games-review-fable-3-image2-U8iKPMQptA.jpg (970x1364, 445K)

It's truly amazing how MS squandered such a promising IP.
You could do some crazy shit with fable because the world is so silly. But M$ chose to fund some god-awful shit no one wanted and then killed it and the IP.
fucking hell.

Nah, they will turn Splinter Cell in a open world sandbox game
>but they already changed Ghost Recon into sandbox and have The Division
Well, nothing stop them to do it the third time.

>you will learn to love it
>implying the servers for it will last long enough for anyone to learn to love it
Fuck mobile. Fuck GaaS. But most of all, fuck the people who take a beloved genre or series and destroy it in the name of reaching a wider audience. AAA is utter trash these days, thank god mid-budget games have finally recovered after they all died off last gen.

Last gen was probably the single worst console generation ever.

It's not just that each entry is worse than the last, it's that they weren't really anything particularly good to begin with. It's just fucking babby's first RPG. It's Final Fantasy Mystic Quest for the Xbox generation.

It was such a fun concept with so much potential it feels like such a shame they never did anything else with it.

There are some series that at one hand want to see back, but at the other hand I don't want it to happen, because I know if this happen the dev or publisher for sure will fuck this up so badly.

forgot my pic

Attached: moh.jpg (359x500, 40K)

Yeah I was just thinking the other day that I could really go for a sequel to Recettear, but I think EGS shut down.

>thank god mid-budget games have finally recovered after they all died off last gen.
>Last gen was probably the single worst console generation ever.

Its funny you say that. I think the previous generation was better. There were actually some AA published games released during the 7th gen that went completely unnoticed because they didn't have the same marketing budget and exposure that AAA publishers had. I honestly think that 7th gen will eventually be remembered as a generation where a good portion of games got a cult following.

This generation has taken the worst parts of the former and made them even more terrible somehow.

>ctrl+f

2 basically killed it.
what would your ideal new prototype game be?

Look at the actual thread you fucking retard.

main character is reborn Alex or Pariah
fuck you dumb nignog

Last gen had zero good stealth games, no good horror games, one good action game (Bayonetta), one okay-ish SRPG (valkyria) and an endless tidal wave of awful shooters. JRPGs disappeared up their own assholes with otaku pandering, WRPGs became either bland open world trash or dating sims, and nearly every developer of mid-budget games got shut down. It was a fucking disaster.

This gen has awful exclusives and AAA Western games have become utterly worthless, but THQ, Daedalic, Devolver and Kickstarter have finally given us back games that actually have both budget and creativity. Combine that with Capcom's Renaissance and Platinum somehow managing to survive despite having the deck stacked against them, and you have a pretty decent gen overall.

Prototype was never good, it's just a db juvenile power fantasy game with no depth and no challenge. The only half decent thing is the movement which is still too simple.

Find me a better post-apoc NYC setting.

Emergency Fire Response (a.k.a. Fire Department in Europe and Fire Chief in UK). Rip the devs. They got killed by Cities XL fiasco.
At least we still have Emergency series.

Desperados 3 is likely going to be pushed to 2020, not that I mind.

gex couldn't work in a post cable society, unless if you want him to spout nothing but memes.

Suckerpunch has never made a bad game
>rocket was good
>sly cooper was great
>sly 2 was godlike
>sly 3 was good
>infamous was great
>infamous 2+festival of blood was great
>infamous second son+first light was ok
Will ghost of tsushima be their first bad game, or another masterpiece

rocket was ahead of its time

From what I've gathered the studio that made R.A.D., Sandlot, has made a few other similar games, namely a Tetsujin-28/Gigantor adaptation, and a mini game based on the bizarre as fuck giant robot toku Tekkouki Mikazuki. They had another original giant robot game for the DS as well that was published by Nintendo, but unfortunately none of these actually made it out of Japan.

I no longer feel anger. I no longer feel dissapointment. I just want my sly 5 man. I just want my Infamous 3.

Nigga, FUCK you. I think about it often enough and so should anyone who likes superhero games. Don't own a PS4 but played the campaign of Second Son and it was shit in comparison to the first two games. Those motherfuckers at Sucker Punch better make a proper sequel to 2, I swear

trash

>zero good stealth games
I'll give you that. Only consolation is the MGS and Splinter cell HD collections. Does this generation have some notable stealth games?
>no good horror games
While Konami didn't do SH any justice, Siren blood curse was released. Albeit, its probably the only decent horror game in that generation.
>one good action game (Bayonetta)
>endless tidal wave of awful shooters.
Vanquish and Binary Domain were okay, imo. At least compared to most western shooters.
>one okay-ish SRPG (valkyria)
Hmm.
>JRPGs disappeared up their own assholes with otaku pandering
I'll give you that, but they were still better than the current ones. Japanese companies generally floundered this and the previous generation, although they seem to have improved slightly more in this one, they're still mostly pandering to otakus. SE shouldn't have allowed Yoichi Wada to become CEO.
>WRPGs became either bland open world trash or dating sims
Never been much of a big WRPG fan, so can't express much about this.
>Capcom's Renaissance
Debatable. Personally, I don't see how Capcom has improved.

Generally, this current generation has gone overboard with egregious microtransactions. Not to mention the politics, censorship, early access, unfinished games, and games-as-a-service models making their way. All things considered I prefer the previous generation compared to this one.

>I'll give you that. Only consolation is the MGS and Splinter cell HD collections. Does this generation have some notable stealth games?
mark of the ninja came out late last gen. as for this gen, shadow tactics if that counts. there's also aragami and the two styx games.

gunpoint was another very late last gen stealth game and deadbolt was this gen.

It was just a tech demo adapted into a bad game. Unironically the powers in 2 were much more fun and varied.

>Vanquish and Binary Domain were okay, imo. At least compared to most western shooters.

Attached: 1223438994943.jpg (2000x1689, 839K)

I was strictly talking about the 7th generation, mate.

>mark of the ninja came out late last gen.
Which isn;'t a very good stealth game. For starters, it punishes you for actually being stealthy, since you are only awarded upgrade points for doing shit like takedowns.

Secondly, the most important thing of a stealth game is level design. Mark of the Ninja is a 2d side-scroller, it literally lacks an entire third dimension other stealth games have.

Heck, it's not even the best stealth game made by Klei. That would be Invisible Inc.

Best stealth game last gen was Dishonored. Which isn't even really a good stealth game, which says a lot about how bad last gen was.

Attached: 19243893112.jpg (800x450, 43K)

InFamous got two entries this gen, just like it did last gen

>I was strictly talking about the 7th generation, mate.
Okay? Vanquish and Binary domain are not good shooters regardlss of what gen. They mindlessly copied the awful mechanics popularized by games like Gears of War (regenerating health, slow movement, cover systems, flat level design, etc.). Though they are bettr than Gears, they're still not what I'd call very good.

>no good horror games

youtube.com/watch?v=tsLJqzljCAs

Of course they do.

>Which isn;'t a very good stealth game. For starters, it punishes you for actually being stealthy, since you are only awarded upgrade points for doing shit like takedowns.
you literally get a bonus for not taking out anyone retard.
>Secondly, the most important thing of a stealth game is level design. Mark of the Ninja is a 2d side-scroller, it literally lacks an entire third dimension other stealth games have.
not an argument
>Heck, it's not even the best stealth game made by Klei. That would be Invisible Inc.
how so?
>Best stealth game last gen was Dishonored
mark of the ninja punishes you far more for being detected than dishonored because it's harder to fight back.

Nah it sucked

>you literally get a bonus for not taking out anyone retard.
Which pales in comparison to all the bonuses you get for doing individual things like takedowns, throwing a distraction, hiding a body, etc.

It's a horribly designed system that encourages artificial busywork instead of actually being stealthy.

>not an argument
It is. For example, in Mark of the Ninja, you can hide in doorways. But because it's a side-scroller, eveything is flat. So hiding in a doorway is a simple button prompt and voila, your character is invisible even to enemies in front of you. In a 3d game or even just an isometric 2d game, that doorway would take up physical space, so hiding requires you to actually position yourself in relation to the environment, not press a single button.

>how so?
It basically has none of the issues of Mark of the Ninja. No bullshit score rewards for doing certain things. It's not a flat side-scroller, so level design is actually well-done.

>mark of the ninja punishes you far more for being detected than dishonored because it's harder to fight back.
Running away or hiding in Mark of the Ninja is trivially easy.

>Which pales in comparison to all the bonuses you get for doing individual things like takedowns, throwing a distraction, hiding a body, etc.
>It's a horribly designed system that encourages artificial busywork instead of actually being stealthy.
no it doesn't. you get far more points from being undetected because it's based on a multiplier. all the "busy work" put together doesn't come close to it. ghosting gives you more than enough honors to upgrade everything you need.
>It is. For example, in Mark of the Ninja, you can hide in doorways. But because it's a side-scroller, eveything is flat. So hiding in a doorway is a simple button prompt and voila, your character is invisible even to enemies in front of you. In a 3d game or even just an isometric 2d game, that doorway would take up physical space, so hiding requires you to actually position yourself in relation to the environment, not press a single button.
the challenge is designed around that limitation in mind so that's irrelevant.
>It basically has none of the issues of Mark of the Ninja. No bullshit score rewards for doing certain things. It's not a flat side-scroller, so level design is actually well-done.
you might as well have said nothing.
>Running away or hiding in Mark of the Ninja is trivially easy.
guards shoot immediately on site. in new game plus, that's instant death. besides it's far easier to get away in dishonored since you can blink anywhere. you don't even need to because the enemies can easily be killed.

>no it doesn't.

>your total score is based off of your level score which is anything you do in the level, (kills, distraction, etc, any time you see a number pop up during a level thats for your level score.) then at the end it checks the condition of all enemies in the level and gives you bonuses. any enemies that never detected you are worth 400 (either totally undetected or distracted). then if the alarm didn't sound you'll get a bonus, usually 3000. and not killing anyone is 5000 on most levels.

>because of this it seems like doing no kill runs get you more points, but if you stack level bonuses right then you can actually get 3 times the points for killing as you would for not killing them. For example a fairly common scenario is you come across a lone guard, you sneak past him get the undetected bonus (200 for undetected) then you distract him (200+150 for distracted=350) then you hit him with a hisomu terror dart with the upgrade, (350+300 for terror=650) then he kills himself as part of the upgraded effect (650+600 for ninja tool kill=1250) then you hide the body (1250+250 for hide the body=1500) you could expand on that even further you could hide the body in an area where another guard walks past it giving you another 400 per guard. you could kill the guard by hanging him before the tool finishes him off. doing this gives you 600 which is the same you'd get from the tool killing him, plus you can use it to chain terror another guard. and any guard you terrorize that then kills another guard you get 600 for that kill.

>You should be able to get Undetected, distraction, and hide body bonuses on just about every enemy. They don't take too much planning or a special set or or set of equipment. and doing the 3 bonuses should get you 1000 points an enemy. (400 for the kill, 200 for undetected, 150 for distraction, and 250 for hiding the body)
