I guess the car culture died, but I think the games could still be a good niche to have.
A few years ago when crafting mechanics was all the hot shit, they could make a NFS game with crafting mechanics in your car, having a workshop and getting the parts etc.

I really wish they'd just give up the racing game story meme like pretty much every has aside from maybe 'You're racing everyone to be the best racer and shit, I dunno' and leaving it at that. Shit was always corny and sure it may have been worth a few hucks in the days of UG though Carbon and shit like MC3/Redmix but damn. That said even if they did drop that shit it'd still be shit there hasn't been a good NFS game in eons and as Ghost is the developer I doubt that'll change.

I just want my good old street racing vidya already. Add in some beauty models and it'll be perfect.
