I liked being able to see the Miltian Conflict across the 3 games, getting a little more insight to it each time. The little nods 3 makes to the previous 2 games was really neat.
Speaking of music I really like how Alba Cavanich in XB2 literally sounds like a modern rendition of an early 80s anime track.
Entertainingly written sidequests with goofy dialogue choices and branching paths
Tons of armor to play dress-up dolls with
Large openworld to explore; lots of fun to be had by evading enemies and going to places way overlevelled from you
If you like the exploring of other Blade games or you like games where you can dick around for ages before returning to the main plot then X is perfect. I already played Blade games by putting the main story on the backburner until I got bored of sidequesting, so I never had to deal with the gated story chapters. Of course it's not surprising most people don't play Xeno games that way so they just hit their head on the endless story chapter gates and then got a mediocre narrative for their troubles.

Did X2 ever come out, future user?
it didn't, it removed a good deal of strategy by having orbs apply on every special attack. The only thing that's improved are about half of the talent arts being cool. The other half are useless or way too situational.
Is there a Xeno game without absolutely Kino music? I don't think so
Xenosaga 1. The music isn't bad but it's extremely underwhelming.
xenosaga 1 has a great soundtrack. I didn't like it at first because it didn't sound like any of mitsuda's other work, but it grew on me
Reminder:
Xenogears is a SquareEnix IP.
Xenosaga is a Bandai Namco IP.
Xenoblade is a Nintendo IP.

>Extremely customizable characters. You can have an acrobatic midget with balloon tits or a towering lanklet acting like a riot cop
>Plenty of party members with memorable and endearing sidequest chains that end up being as fleshed out as Zeke or Morag by the end of Xenoblade 2
I think it's a flawed gem, but I can understand why some people don't like it. It has a flawed main plotline, but I think overall it has the best story of any Xenoblade. It's an absolute masterpiece at environmental story telling. You end up caring more about Mira than you should care about a fictional world. It's as fleshed out as Tamriel or Middle Earth, if not more.
Sadly. I would love for all three to be linked. Like, straight up have the Zohar introduced in Xenoblade 3 and Fei, Elly, KOS-MOS, Shion, Elma, Lin, Py/My/Pneuma, Rex, Shulk, and Fiora fall out of it.

Skell combat isn't even half of the system. Even then, it's pretty much the same as Xenoblade 2's system. You get a reduced amount of arts, you spend most of your time auto-attacking, and then you use your specials to blow shit up. Activating overdrive is just switching to Mythra and hitting >50% crit rate, but in skell form.
Meanwhile, there are classes in X with a more unique spread of arts than exists in the entirety of Xenoblade 2.
>Even then, it's pretty much the same as Xenoblade 2's system
no it's not? skell combat is brainlessly spamming arts, xenoblade 2 has you build up to specific blade combo chains while juggling driver combos
are you the same retarded who thinks overdrive ghost walker is less broken than chain attacks in 2?

It's kind of linked in Xenoblade 2. The conduit's called the Zohar in the game's files and although the KOS-MOS/T-elos/Shulk/Fiora/Elma cameos have no consequence or impact on the story, there's stuff from KOS-MOS's XB2 concept art and Elma's ingame dialogue that suggests there's some canonicity going on. With the conduit's ability to cross universes everything's up in the air.
With how friendly Bamco is with Monolith I wouldn't be surprised if Harada pulls some strings and lets Takahashi tie Xenosaga into Xenoblade officially.
I don't know how he'd do it since the Conduit and Zohar work differently. But they're both mysterious enough and have enough similarities that Takahashi could bullshit a way to make it related without being cheap.
Xenogears will never, ever be connected to Xenoblade and Xenosaga though because Square are stingy.

false equivalency, xenoblade 2 has disables and crowd control to stop combo building. There's no serious CC for skells and no combos to build under a time limit
You can do equally complex chains in skell form. And by that, I mean using one move that inflicts break, another that inflicts topple, and then grabbing the enemy.
>overdrive ghost walker is less broken than chain attacks in 2
It obviously is. You're retarded to believe otherwise.
Xenosaga and gears are linked way more closely than blade is to saga.
>There's no serious CC for skells
Anything with the gravity element. Plenty of enemies can also fry your skell and lock its controls, or inflict topple. Or any number of debuffs, actually. There are more debuffs in X than in 2, by a long shot.
so do people still want a Xeno Warriors game
I remember the topic coming up pretty frequently and then they just announced a Persona 5 Musou.
part of me wants one but after FE Warriors I know they'd make a total shitshow out of it. I keep thinking "it'd be cool if XB2 characters each had different Blade weapon movesets available so they could implement lots of Rare Blades without much resources, or X characters could use skells as a second moveset" but then I remember they'd only include the director's personal favorite Rare Blades and the only X content would be Elma as a Fiora reskin or something
Yeah, my wish is mostly just for Squeenix to stop being so fucking Jewish about it. Even when they're partnering with Nintendo they still manage to fuck things up, like giving Cloud all of 2 FF songs, or only giving Nintendo the MIDI versions of DQ songs.
>So do people still want a Xeno Warriors game
I'd be incredibly down for it. iirc, didn't the guys who made HW and FEW say they wanted to work on Xenoblade Warriors?
They mentioned it as something they'd be interested in because of the focus on characters, yeah
Yes and no. Takahashi meant for them to be connected but he had to tip-toe around legal issues since Square are assholes. The connection is implied but not canon. The connections between Xenogears and Xenosaga are much more important to the narrative.
Bamco's a lot more lenient than Square is. The connections between Xenoblade 2 and Xenosaga are much more blatant than the connections between Xenogears and Xenosaga, but still not canon anyways. The connections are also moreso fanservicey "Remember that?" and "It could be connected on the side" rather than being important to the narrative compared to Xenogears x Xenosaga. The conduit is literally a Zohar-shaped god-tool that was found in a lake in Africa.

your narrative that any of this is because "square are assholes" is retarded.
Xenoblade 2 has all of 5 references to Xenoblade 1. You can enjoy the game without playing it.
Also, if you've got a PC made this decade, you can emulate Xenoblade 1 via Dolphin (no waggle), or if you've got a 3DS you can play it on that. As for X, you can play it using CEMU, and it, and BotW, are the most emulated Wii U games and thus have the most support.
Alternatively, buy a second-hand Wii U for $90 and then you've got access to Xenoblade 1 and X, on top of the rest of the Wii U's catalog that hasn't been ported (W101, SM3DW, Metroid Prime Trilogy)
How does this Xenoblade-related image make you feel? Perhaps BORN IN A WORLD OF STRIFE
honestly the brit dub is a way bigger factor in me not touching those games. and again, even though there's the option for jp audio, the subs are still britspeak.
none of those stop the arts spam from occurring, having the bar drain in 2 has the entire process start over (or getting blade/driver locked)
nothing in this series is as broken as ghost walker overdrive, you can't even get hit during it
X doesn't have British localization. It also has the best voice acting, though I'd reckon 1's localization is more iconic, and has more poignant scenes with Adam Howden.
X does not have better VA than 1, not even close. There isn't a single memorable VA

>Nothing in this series is as broken as ghost walker overdrive
Yeah, chain attacks in 2
>You can't even get hit during it
Neither can you get hit during chain attacks in 2. Oh yeah, and you can deal even more absurd amounts of damage and seal away moves. At least Ghost Walker can be mitigated by superbosses in X. Chain Attacks can ruin Kurodil. If you try Ghost Walker-ing at the 2 giant worms in Sylvalum, they'll delete your evades and then OHKO you.
Playing Xenoblade Chronicles for the first time in Dolphin with the HD texture pack. It's my first Xeno* game. Pretty fun so far.
Shulk, Reyn, and Dunban are the only memorable performances in 1, though. And 2 of them because of memes. X was more professional, but also a bit soulless in execution.
adam howden has one of, if not the best VAs of a dub, british or not
you have to build up to a chain attack in 2 with orbs, you can initiate an overdrive in X at the start of a battle and keep it there
>If you try Ghost Walker-ing at the 2 giant worms in Sylvalum, they'll delete your evades and then OHKO you.
ghost walker isn't OP because of the 6 hits it gives you, it's OP because the entire animation grants you unlimited evasion
What part are you at?
Alvis and Zanza also in my opinion
>calling anything in 2 broken compared X when you can one shot all the super bosses before you even get to post game in X
never mind the retarded ghost walker spam in overdrive, just run a potential build
Really early. Basically the beginning of the game. Just got the cylinders and the Mechons invaded. 4 hours in because I'm really f̶e̶e̶l̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶i̶t̶ taking my time and enjoying it.
You can build up the orbs insanely quickly, and you can deal absolutely absurd amounts of damage when you pop it. Meanwhile, Ghost Walker has a 54 second cooldown.
See, I know what I'm talking about because I beat both X and 2 at least twice. I doubt you've ever even finished X.
Calm down X-fag. though I'd put Torna in B tier at least, and XSII in C, I still pretty much agree

You can rig Poppi to OHKO everything, too. The amount of bullshit you can do with her is comparable to completely supping up Agashura Cannon or any of the super weapons in X. And potential builds that strong require well over 20 hours of grinding. I remember trying to fit 1 character with all Potential XX augments, and it took 28 hours of grinding the fucking Sylooths. Without the online tickets, it probably would've added another 4 hours onto the grind time.

bit of a double standard to base your judgements on updates that only one game had the benefit of receiving, isn't it? comparing base game X to BoC XB2 is like comparing base game XB2 to BoC 2
>woglinde
why
I don't think you know what a double standard is, I'm taking added content into account in both scenerios, not omitting one. The game in its final state exists as it is now and will for 99.9% of its lifetime. If X had patches/added content (which it desperately needed in terms of the former), I'd consider it too
Emulate, get the Xenogear 2.0 ISO that fixes some bugs introduced in the NA version, goes back to the original control scheme, and most importantly puts back in the JP voices (with subs) so you don't have to listen to that unbelievably bad dub

Dunno, I really liked Xenosaga and it was a comfy first start exploring the ship. I also played through 1 during a pretty bad time and I still remember it fondly.
there's barely any voice acting anyway
Yeah but the other features are worth it anyway.
God, I'd fucking cream myself if they brought Malos back like that
It'd be a really interesting concept of villains becoming protagonists
Has any other JRPG done that?
the only thing the difficulty modes do is adjust existing values to increase enemy power and nerf player resources and it's locked behind DLC
xenoblade.fandom.com
I don't know what you want to prove by showing that the game where you can deliberately make things harder by altering values is harder than the game where you can't. The game wasn't designed around BoC and yet somehow it's the golden standard to judge them by? Fuck off.

Not only the Wii is the second best selling console of history and the easiest console to hack to play pirate games, but also the first point makes it dirty cheap to buy second hand and already hacked. Also the game don't use any waggle gimmick you can play it just find with a Classic and Pro controller.

Shame that X was stuck with everyone having to use avatar animations so they couldn't go out there with party members.

He sold the property, he knew what he was doing. It's no longer his.
It's so obvious that the japanese cat prince was going to be a party member but it was cut.
So is Takahashi going to complete his "Perfect Works" this time? He's already 3 games in, and things are looking really smooth for his company. I have a feeling they'll go all out during the finale since it's the one part he's never got around to.

He even uses attacks you can use with the Photon Saber, with a model of Photon Saber you can wield.
Xenoblade X is basically a more Sci-Fi heavy Xenosaga, and I hope it doesn't get abandoned. It has potential, but I have no idea what they're going to do about XCX1. In general the plot was pretty loose, it was on a dead console among other small issues. It makes me wonder if they're working on XCX2 right now, or if they're going to go all out on the mainline and proceed with XC3.
Outside of Elma being Kosmos, and the Ghosts probably being the equivalent of the Gnosis, I'm not seeing the comparisons. Anything else? Other than that though, if X2 is in the works, I have no doubt that it'll sell well. The Xenoblade franchise is pretty recognizable nowadays, and the Switch has a pretty wide user base.
imagine thinking any of the other xeno games are even close to being on the same level as xenogears
On one hand I do want to see a follow up to X but on the other hand I'm not sure it's worth spending a whole game trying to salvage X's weakest point. X was fun for the exploration and optional content, a sequel is better off focusing on those rather than revisiting the same forgettable characters and underexplored story elements. It's definitely in a weird place.
Yeah, Ga Jiarg.
its amazing they managed to write so many bland characters for x. elma has no personality at all. she's just there. lin is just an anime trope.
Gears is, if nothing else, the closest thing to his original vision.
>Playing XB1 on homebrew wii u
>Spend all pre-monado gold on sexy bikini armor
>she immediately dies
>game isn't giving me a compass to complete quests, I have to remember where everyone is scattered about
At the hideout now after saving the kid whose bike broke down. Having a hell of a time. I hope it keeps getting better too.
I get what they were going for with Elma's personality but the story never really gets to explore it outside of maybe two scenes. She's meant to be goal oriented and pragmatic to the extent that she makes sacrifices no-one else would be willing to for the greater good, while also not really understanding why humanity would be upset about her decisions.
She's not lead material. She's the overly logical Spock to Linlee's emotionally driven McCoy, but there's no Kirk to balance them out, let alone anyone to really challenge her way of thinking or decision making.
probably xenosaga I
it can be salvaged by having it take place on Neo Tokyo or New Paris with new characters as the focus with New LA characters making appearances
I wouldn't worry too much about side quests. And yes it does
Make sure to talk to quest NPCs multiple times, some will hand out a bunch of generic "kill/gather 5 xyz" quests which you'll want to gather up the moment you find a new settlement before you go exploring.
>Best side quests in any game ever made.
They aren't at all.
>Plenty of party members with memorable and endearing sidequest chains that end up being as fleshed out as Zeke
no, not even close
Lin's cute when she's not in 3d. Or around Tatsu.
2 is better than 1
