nah, you just don't look at konami quarterly reports. pachinko is part of amusement along with digital mahjong the word panchinko itself hasn't even been mentioned on one since the 2017 full year while slots are gaming which earned over double what amusement did this last quarter (q1 2020)

The question was each PLAYSTATION generation user.
Sales started diminishing heavily during the 5th gen. Talent fled the company. As a result they started producing less real games and put all their eggs in the "soccer and rhythm games" basket and their sales got even worse which turned into a vicious cycle.
Pachinko saved them as a business. Without it they would be completely dead.

Mostly agree with PS3 being a turning point for some people. I remember getting The Orange Box on PS3 and later finding out PC TF2 was getting class updates so I became a PC gamer after that.
Literally the first games that came to my head;
>Final Fantasy IX
>Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance
>Killzone 2
>Tales of Zestiria

Firstly they're being cheeky. It's literally the UK division. They chose Castlevania: Lords of Shadow for PS3 just to fuck with you.
>Daring to use the name of Silent Hill when you are the ones that killed all its creativity and forced it to die one of the most disgusting deaths
I want Konami to get nuked.
They're the British branch of Konami. The best Silent Hill games are British.
Tony Hawk 2
Gran Turismo 3
Gran Turismo 6
Gran Turismo Sport
I have a problem
Your taste is shit and you should feel bad.
Why do you suppose Climax had no problems producing two exceptional Silent Hill games under tight deadlines, while the Japanese teams Konami gave the IP to kept fucking up and their projects had to be canned repeatedly? Wait... people do know about the botched Japanese Silent Hill projects post-2012, right? Worst mistake Konami ever made was trying to take the series in-house again.
MGS
star wars battlefront or Going commando
DeS
uh....Bloodborne I guess?
It's amazing that people believe Silent Hills was cancelled due to the Konami/Kojima feud and not because Konami was pulling a John Romero and planning on jumping ship as early as 2014. Silent Hills never existed. Literally no meaningful content was created for the game. It was announced with nothing. It was never really cancelled because it never actually began development.

Are they for serious
PS1:Parapa the rappa
PS2:Jack and daxter
PS3:Little big planet
PS4:Astro bot rescue
>two exceptional Silent Hill games
I can maybe let that statement pass with Shattered Memories, but Origins isn't anything special. It has a good number of inconsistencies that don't tie-in with what SH1 established. It's not bad by any measure but it's definitely a game that you can skip without even caring much.
>people do know about the botched Japanese Silent Hill projects post-2012, right?
Which is why I'm saying they killed the series. I don't care if a Japanese team or a British team or an American team or a Czechoslovakian team fucked it up, the fact that the decision to give it to a dev team that couldn't handle what Team Silent established was made at all is enough.
>Origins isn't anything special. It has a good number of inconsistencies that don't tie-in with what SH1 established. It's not bad by any measure but it's definitely a game that you can skip without even caring much.
I'd argue you're better off skipping SH1 and playing Origins instead. SH2 has fuck-all to do with SH1, but you don't see people arguing that you should skip SH2.
>Brave Fencer Musashi
>Devil May Cry
>AssCreed 2
>Far Cry 4
It’s not an impressive list and in no way indicative of how many games I actually own (have bloodborne, Horizon, spider-man, etc), but I think these are the games I’ve spent the most time with across said generations. Although I think DMC might actually be tied with MK Deception and one of the Smackdown games. I spent an autistic amount of time in the character creator.
FC4 was my first PS4 game so I was taking in dem graffix
>Which is why I'm saying they killed the series.
I'm not altogether convinced this is true. Konami killed the series in 2012. Then they immediately changed their mind. When they shut down development on Silent Hills, which at that point had basically no development completed, they said that they were going to explore other options. They will eventually make another Silent Hill. One may very well be in development right now. They have started and ended multiple Silent Hill projects over the years. Kinda like how Valve has started and killed endless versions of Half-Life. Yet Valve are likely releasing Half-Life VR before the end of the year. Shit changes. Konami made a clean slate in 2015 and have been getting their affairs in order since. They will release a new Silent Hill at some point. It's a matter of when, not if. Why was PT pulled? Because it was a teaser demo for a non-existent game, and Konami viewed it as redundant.
>I'd argue you're better off skipping SH1 and playing Origins instead
You could, but I don't think many people would agree with you. Origins doesn't have that many memorable moments like 1 does with Alchemilla, or Nowhere, or the School. And 1 came first, which is why the standard is to take what 1 says as true and to take anything Origins contradicts as contradictions, not as the new truths and to ignore what 1 did with the story of the town and Alessa.
>SH2 has fuck-all to do with SH1, but you don't see people arguing that you should skip SH2
Yes, user, because the point is that SH2 didn't introduce confusion or contradictions into what SH1 established about the town. It was its own separate game that still made sense with the background. Origins isn't a separate game, it's a game that tries to explain what happened before SH1, so it's tied directly to it, but it only serves to pop up some questions and problems that weren't present before in the first place.
>Kojima purposely sabotaged himself to get fired, because he knew what Konami had become, and that fucker still wants to make awesome video games for us.
Oh my Based. That sly dog.
The SH1 fanbase tends to have a rather myopic view of the series. If you were introducing Silent Hill to someone with zero nostalgia, I'd argue they should start with Origins, Shattered Memories, and SH2. Then move on to SH3/Downpour, and then the other games.
How do you suggest someone play 3 without having played 1 and expect to fully understand it?
>origins
The problem, user, is that the average casual gamer is going to play 15 minutes of SH1 and find it an exceptionally clunky experience. The gameplay of Silent Hill is a huge stumbling block for people likely to play the series. I really like SH1, but it is not friendly to newcomers.
Origins is the most approachable version of Classic Silent Hill. It has SH1's aesthetics, but a heavily improved version of SH2's gameplay formula.
You forgot to mention it's not really scary at all and looks like ass
Few of the Silent Hill games are truly scary. They're more disturbing than anything else. Also "looks like ass" is calling the kettle black when it comes to SH1.
Reminder that Twitter is suddenly spamming questions that will get lots of different hashtags trending to flood out the epstein and clintonbodycount hashtags. they are not even being the least bit subtle about this shit anymore
