Let's agree that this is better than Minecraft.

nah, they both have heavy strengths. sure, you can make comparisons, but they're vastly different games in most ways.

they're completely different games.
it's like saying pizza is better than burgers. they're both good.

Minecraft doesn't have The Twins in it so that's one big positive mark for it

FPBP and SPBP

Imagine being this shit at videogames holy hell

Based reasonposter

Do we have a fucking Spazmatism apologist here? That fucker can eat shit. I genuinely would have a more fun time fighting enraged Plantera.

Is it even possible to put 100 hours on this game if you're friendless? The only game that can potentially compete with Minecraft in terms of entertainment longevity would be Hytale.

I played 500 hours solo so you can, you just have to create your own fun once you "end" your first playthrough.
Therre's always mods too

I really wish Minecraft had more focused goals like it at least. It's so easy to rush the dragon and wither that I have trouble even getting invested in a world.

Minecraft’s biggest weakness was never progressing much beyond what was already offered in the alpha. It had so much potential for town/city, quest, and environment generation and it never made it past being a literal goalless sandbox because of its success. I highly doubt Microsoft will be able to do anything else significant with it, if their other IPs are any indication

nigga just dodge

Minecraft is Legos
Terraria is a video game

I dont like memorizing a whole wikia just to play. Sorry! NOT SORRY!

I disagree. Trying to add more shit like towns, cities, quests, and dungeons just makes it a shitty sub-par version of Terraria. I don't think the point of Minecraft was ever dungeon diving and doing quests in cities and shit, the point was that it has no point, the only actual goal, in the beginning, was survival. But the one strength it has is building.
Building is the most fun thing you can do in Minecraft and has always been there since the beginning, but there never really was any cross between building and surviving. You didn't need to build a big, creative house to survive, and the tedium of having to go out and get resources to build certainly didn't make building any more fun. I think Minecraft should find some way to encourage creativity in survival mode, it seems like the village and pillage thing is a step in the right direction in the lines of having an opportunity to get autistic but with some practical purpose.

>memorizing
Just look up the shit you want or need to progress, you don't need to memorize anything you fucking brainlet.

Let's agree this is strictly better than minecraft

This. What's with terrariafags always having to compare their game to Minecraft? I rarely ever see mcfags do it.

1.4 never ever, lazy hack developers.

>PC release never

Naeh.
It's a good game, but minecraft is much better.

Would be better if they removed the dragon.

but both square so same!?

The point of minecraft was to be a Dwarf Fortress clone in 3D. But after finishing about .01% of the game Notch got millions of dollars and stopped working on it in any meaningful way. He had smelting, had picks, had obsidian and the bottom of the world minus the circus but hell he didn't even replace Steve the placeholder model. Instead he started accepting the placeholder as the official image for minecraft similar to that faggot yandere dev who accepted that placeholder girl as his character.
>didn't finish water physics because it acts like jelly and never depletes when it pours over cliffs
>same with lava
>never added towns besides that shitty randomly generated few buildings with brown turd placeholder models walking around doing nothing
>never even added the dwarf model for the players
>never finished block physics save for gravel, sand, and a shoehorned redstone gimmick
Fuck Minecraft but not Notch because there was no way he could've finished that shit if even Dwarf Fortress is only 44% done after 17 years.

Terraria is a gay, Mimecraft is based.

server when?

>It had so much potential for town/city, quest, and environment generation
That's every procedurally generated game ever. NMS would be GOTY if it had actual cities and factions actually fighting each other rather than you solo an entire army of pointless robots by yourself for eternity, or fight 2-3 pirates all by yourself 100 times. The only times you find civilization in randomly generated games is little platforms or villages with 5-15 NPCs that do nothing but maybe trade with you at most. Then you use what they traded with you to go pointlessly fight pirates again.

That's not even a question. Terraria is a 8/10 game at least, and minecrapt is 0/10 retard shit.

Minecraft is too barebones.

Reason posters are the best.

It's not, it would even improve if some stuff was removed. Cutting out bloat can make the gameplay experience better.

Barebones in terms of gameplay and progression.

like diorite and shit that they just copied from some (bad) mods

>progression
It isn't a progression game, adding "Tier 4" or another Boss adds nothing to the experience of the game, it is even likely to make it worse. It isn't a progression game like Terraria is.

even then Minecraft is cubical, not square

Glad to see this board isn't entirely retarded

I posted the original an hour ago on rpcs3. Try that. Also maybe try yuzu if you're feeling confident

>dodge
>not just staying out of range
retard

I have a PS4, I just don't want to play on it or emulate it.

It's had the same gameplay progression for like 5 years, with the only thing mixing up said progression being enchanting.

It definitely is barebones when it comes to progression at this point.
