You hear Edelgard’s perspective and she has a lot of good supports in which you should definitely see. You never get the whole truth from just one route and in her route you start to understand why she believes the church of Seiros is anti human.

the moment her character grows the conflict ceases to exist and all sides get the ability to cooperate.

making Edelgard grow as a person will be the key element of the golden route DLC where all three houses unite, to make it happen you gotta recruit everyone before chapter 8- then make some specific choices to recruit house leaders. When this happens, an entirely different series of events will unravel that will lead to the Three Houses fighting against the slithers, Nemesis, and an even higher, more dangerous power. There will be a cool new set of combat mechanics exclusive to this route as well, where you can pair up three units to effectively be one unique unit. This allows special abilities and huge stat buffs and very cool new team attack animations in battle. The classes of the units decides the abilities of the three units combined, with the lord units having a very special set of abilities making you always want to pair Edel/Dimitri/Claude. Expect some really crazy, Super Robot Wars tier attack animations for some of the final bosses in this route.

NG+ does make things easier, but it gives you essential bonuses that lead to great quality of life time savers which allows you to complete new playthroughs much, much quicker. The bonuses also add up and will likely be nice to have for a Lunatic run when it releases.
