Which one are you talking about though?
nuHitman became too tongue-in-cheek for me. it's actually very off-putting now.
I take it you want a "dark and more grittier like Contracts" sort of game?
>greatest Hitman game
>no newspapers at the end of each mission showing how well you did and how you played the mission
fuck off retard
the best hitman is hitman 2
I missed the sale on PSN. It's on sale on Humble Bundle but I honestly prefer playing on consoles.
I'm waiting that it gets finished
Already played it, user.
Hitman is boring and belongs in the PS2 era
zoomers only played blood money and sequels, so they have no idea what you're talking about.
doomer here, blood money was the best Hitman and I grew up playing all of them on release
not necessarily. nuHitman just became a not grounded experience. It's the same tongue-in-cheekness that made it's way into the items, cosmetics, etc. It's just overbearing, and all these little things add up to constantly remind the player that they're not a Hitman, but just a clown who plays dress up with a clown arsenal. Even with the story and "contracts," if you can even call them contracts at this point, it's like 47 is now Captain Save-the-World.
I've played the entirety of Hitman2016 in complete thoroughness, but I'm passing on H2 until its a very cheap purchase.
agree with you. in terms of technical perfection (excellent AI, superb graphics, sound effects and soundtrack) Hitman 2 is probably one of the most underrated game ever made.
it's not underrated at all...
It is. You never see it in the greatest games list ever.
"greatest list" according to who? any list published by whatever site you follow usually has a bunch of objectively poorly aged games on its "GREATEST GAMES EVER" list just because they've been grandfathered into it.
It`s not that great to be honest. The gameplay is crisp and the art design is amazing but you really need to scrape it for content, once you beat the main missions the side contracts are kinda underwhelming.
They need to release a level editor so people can make Blood Money on it, in fact it would solve the lack of replay ability it has and make the game a 10/10
Well, I kind of see what you're saying. But I wouldn't say I never felt like a hitman the entire time I played 2016 and 2018, just that I maybe never felt like what Hitman was before Absolution. The tone is different. You're James bond maybe too much, but it's still tremendous stuff.
you're supposed to replay the missions in different ways, that's how you reach the 200 hours mark
So I want to play H1 levels in the H2 engine. I have H2 downloaded but not H1 (which I own}. Can I just download Paris and access the legacy levels through there or do I have to download all H1 levels and then download the legacy versions?
on console you need H1 installed for the download to start, On pc it just checks if you own the game
It's a 9/10 then becomes a 5/10. The game is hideously short, but those first playthroughs of the levels are extremely fun and memorable.
That would be Contracts and Blood Money.
hmm? You mean Silent Assassin or Blood Money?
I don't think it's at Saint's Row levels of going overboard with the wackiness yet. Especially when that wackiness is reserved for a couple of joke items and Easter eggs.
>The game is hideously short
It's the same length as BM not counting bonus missions if you combine it with the Legacy pack.
>Silent Assassin
I got lvl 20 mastery pro mode on HITMAN 1 on all missions you cunt, back when you needed to kill the targets on all kind of different manners, it doesn`t hold up I much prefer they gave me lots on unique scripted targets on the vein of the Elusive Target mode.
Contracts is meh, Blood Money is pure kino.
kill yourself, you dumb fucking retard
Nu Hitman's biggest weakness for me is it lacks Jesper Kyd and lacks a lot of the dark operatic feeling the original games had.
you feel less like a cold blooded hitman and more like just a spy.
The thing is that the lead writer said that they actually wanted a spy feeling to the game and to distance themselves from the crime thriller feel of the older games.
Part of me think that they basically tried to capture the same kind of romantic tone as Silent Assassin, but forgot that Kyd's soundtrack and the heavy religious symbolism were key to nailing that tone.
I suck at em?
what ps3 game is this?
stealth games have yet to work out one of its core issues: save and reload / savescumming. remove saving and have people "waste" 20 minutes if something goes wrong seems to be the only thing they have been able to come up with in the last two decades.
boomer here, played them all, blood money is the best of the whole series
There are stealth games that limit and/or don't allow quicksaving. Hitman has always been one of them.
It's sad
Knowing that graphics and scale and shit need to be at a certain point for this generation, but that it makes it more expensive to produce a similar amount of product
You could never do a Blood Money 2 nowadays
Hitman™ 1 and 2 together barely make it
that makes sense, it certainly feels like an excellent spy simulator and they definitely nailed that, but I think a large part of the original franchises success was that unique dark aesthetic and thriller theme.
I think maybe the newer games could have been more successful if they attempted to retain that same dark heavy religious theme, normies seemed to enjoy the feeling of being an actual assassin. ave maria is so symbolic of the franchise for a reason.
>Hitman
>Stealth Game
I got about half way through Absolution and I was just done. I was done enough that I didn't care if the franchise was ever good again. Not that all of the bullshit they pulled with episodic releases was terribly encouraging.
>he made it halfway through absolution
literally HOW?
Blood Money is definitely a 200% boomer parroted opinion, nice try.
t. boomer
I'm wondering if the new atmosphere was part of their attempt to do a soft reboot of the universe. Obviously the new games are a direct sequel to BM, but the universe is completely knew with a bigger focus on Deus Ex style world-building and corporate espionage.
The way I like to see the new games is that 47 is a relic from the past who's now been thrown into the modern day. Like a more lighthearted take on Old Snake basically.
I feel that its very much on par with Blood Money. That game has so much wacky fun stuff even outside of actual humorous easter eggs. From a mission alone you have the panty sniffer bodyguard, the donut eating FBI idiots, the party clown, the barbecue death, and that is such a small mission.
And here the example of the more outlandish easter eggs
youtu.be
Sure, 47 being able to do anything (like playing drums) can be seen as too much, but in the end I see it as a joke that simply gives the game more variety for situations
Well considering they went with just "Hitman" as their title for 2016, I would say that's probably the case.
I loved that mission lol, also that clapping easter egg is creepy asf
I love the game but I really don't understand their fixation on the strange online always aspect.
Are you really implying that 1 and 2 together dont have more content then Blood Money?
They're also thinking of going back to the episodic model for Season 3, despite that almost killing the company the first time around.
The way IO handles the "games as a service" thing is a mixed bag. Not to mention that making all 3 seasons one game is making the file size unreasonably high.
Always online DRM
What you don't have internet? lmao
You can just pick out and choose the levels you want to download. Even in Hitman 2 you can only download Miami for example.
My only, really major gripe is that progress did not get transferred from 1 to 2. But on the other hand, I enjoyed replaying the 2016 levels with the new tech.
FUCK JANNUS
AND FUCK PROVIDENCE
I haven't started 2016 yet
What? File size? Disk space isn't an issue anymore in 2019
On the opposite, man, I wish they just put everything in one single big hitman game. hitman 1 and 2 are literally the same only one has more content because it's the more recent one
Just jump to 2018, it has all of 2016's levels and progress doesn't carry over
I have played it for many hours though.
Can't wait for Resort.
all hitman games still have the problem of instead of doing the fun part of getting disguises and close to the target alone or eliminate with a special method why not just run in and shoot everyone
I dont play video games
You'll get a shit score for one.
But to me it's just less fun overall doing it that way. Hitman is one of those games where a lot of the fun comes from how you decide to play it. If you're completely devoid of any creativity then you won't enjoy it.
