What is your favorite immersive sim?

I just like all of them, hard to pick a favorite one
>immersive sim
What is this new faggot meme term and why are you trying to make me hate 6 good games by associating them with those bottom three trash fires?
None of that gay shit. Skyrim or bust
Thief 2.
System Shock 2
Is Dishonored 2 with no powers fun?
bioshock does not belong in that image.
>What is this new faggot meme term
Its older that you, grundleboy.
>bottom three trash fires
Pardon me, *retard-ass* grundleboy.
Tragically, I haven't played many of the classics but I really REALLY dig Prey2017. Probably gonna play it some more when I get home from work.
Arma 3, none of those games are sims
the one i don't have to play
Will I like Prey if I didn't like Dishonored?
That's a military sim you fuck face, you might as well be posting in a German thread.
Do people really consider the Bioshock games immersive sims? I get that they're intended to be a spiritual successor to the System Shock series, but the games are really nothing more than fps with some rpg elements added on top. I don't really remember any moments where you can approach an environmental obstacle or a given objective in different ways.
Might as well consider Doom 2016 an immersive sim too.
I played Dishonored a long fucking time ago and it didn't really capture me at all. I picked Prey earlier this year and was blown away.
>Do people really consider the Bioshock games immersive sims?
They don't, in fact I doubt anyone but normalfags gives a shit about that series. Its notable only on the subject of Immersive Sims because of the first game's intended purpose.
>immersive sim
>bioshock 1 & 2
every fucking time.
Also deus ex HR is trash and literally a step down from IW, which was a step down from deus ex 1 itself.
They're called 0451 games retard
The only good immersive sims on this list are ss2, thief 2, deus ex 1 and prey.
Instead of playing it some more, why not give the classics a shot then? I played ss2 for the first time months ago and it still feels very good to play, not dated at all imo. Dark engine games age like fine wine if anything.
>SS2 getting an enhanced edition
What is there to enhance? Fans have already made the game perfectly playable on modern machines. They said that they're porting it to the KEX engine, but what advantages will that bring? Unnecessary bloom and motion blur like in the Turok 2 remaster?
I sound like I'm shitting on the idea, but I really am curious.
>What is there to enhance?
Nightdive studios bank account
>DH1 a trashfire
It's not the game's fault you're bad at it.
youtube.com
Is Thief 1 worth playing or should I skip straight to 2?
underrated
They play almost exactly the same, so there's no real reason to play one and skip the other. 2 is just more tightly designed.
Thief II
>porting it to the KEK engine
Fucking hate these greedy assholes. There is nothing to improve the game runs and feels smooth, and I highly doubt they will be able to maintain the absolutely perfect sound design and quality in it because that shit was pretty much what made dark engine so amazing to begin with.
it's better than 2
>you're bad at it
How can I be bad at a generic modern stealth game with Bioshock Infinite Tonics?
It's basically Shitrim wearing a vaguely HL2-steampunk skin.
>dishonored above prey
in what fucking world lol
Thief
>avoid Bioshock 2
The game's still a fun fps even it isn't an immersive sim.
Why would you place Call of Pripya up there? I dont see why people think its the best. It's clearly the worst. The world is empty as fuck, there is like 1 big gunfight in the entire game, it has no atmosphere and the mutants are shite. Say what you want about Clear Sky but Limansk was a good fucking section
Play both. Thief 1 has some real shitty levels sprinkled in there though. Keep in mind there is literally a skip level option for the real shitty stuff.
Modded Skyrim ;)
1 is better than 2
mankind divided is better than human revolution
Thief 1 also has some kino.
Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines
>Return to the cathedral
Nah father Marius you can fuck off with your bone hunt.
It definitely does and there are some truly good and great missions in 1 but there is also some less good and even terrible missions in there too.
Still pissed I held off on Thief for so long, The Sword was spoiled for me.
How the fuck are VTMB, STALKER, and Pathologic immersive sims? What retard made this image?
Why? Because you're a spastic? 0451 isn't used in either of the two System Shock games, so go fuck yourself with your dumbfuck terms.
I definitely agree that TMA is better and much more consistent, but I'd say that TDP has better atmosphere. TMA also could've used an enhanced edition that combined Casing the Joint and Masks into one mission. What the actual fuck were they thinking by making those two separate things?
It's because 'immersive sim' is total meaningless bullshit.
VtmB and STALKER definitely are.
Pathologic is debatable, but the other two are.
>no stalker in image
How? VTMB is an adaptation of a pen and paper RPG and STALKER is a survival shooter with horror elements. Neither have emergent gameplay or any of the other hallmarks of immersive sims.
Yes and no. It makes some missions way different and you gotta pay attention a lot more, which is great. I was always thinking tho "sure would be nice to have some powers here".
>STALKER doesn't have emergent gamepla-
I sure hope the sequel will be good
Honestly switch prey with dishonored, move mankind divided one spot up(it's pretty much HR+ in terms of gameplay even if the story is unfinished). As far as avoid bioshock, I recommend playing them but don't expect them to be immersive sims. If you just expect some good FPS you're ok.
Was there every any question?
1. Pathways into Darkness
2. Cybermage
3. System Shock 1
Prove him wrong. All you'll be able to show is normal ass shootouts.
Who started the System Shock 1 is mediocre shit? With mouse look the game is a fucking masterpiece, not only for its time (but yeah one year after DOOM, if they implemented mouse look themselves this would be the most influental game of all time)
Ultima Underworld was 1.5 years before Doom.
I guess but it's no FPS also I haven't played it because I can't get the unity port to work and I don't like not having my mouse in a first person game
>6 good games
Can't really choose one. Deus, BS1-2,DH1-2 are god tier immersive sims. VTMB can be considered immersive sim as well btw
VTMB is divided on hubs and it's RPG. Now fuck off.
Honestly, Mankind Divided is better than Human Revolution
anyone actually interested in immersive sim gameplay would agree
(the PC version with OpenXCom actually, its just that the ps1 cover art is fucking great)
Immersive Sims don't even have to be RPGs in the sense of EXP gain and what not.
I haven't gotten deep into them yet, still need to play pretty much all of the LGS games. Deus Ex was the best so far though. The new ones and Prey are cool games. Thief Gold I wasn't into as much, but I'm going to try again after SS2.
PREY is legitimately better than the entire second row
451 is in SS
Close enough
Yeah Bioshock should not be there. Replace with Arx Fatalis and UU.
>immersive sims
>metroidvanias
>mobas
Fucking hate all of these terms.
>Character action
>Soulsborne
>Rogue-lite
Fucking normies
You're delusional if you think a normalfag knows what an Immersive Sim is. Also,
>normie
git ye gon
The fuck did i just read
STALKER trilogy
>hundreds of anime style games
>only a couple dozen or so comicbook style games
a real shame
is this supposed to look like ass?
Prey is mediocre as fuck. I don't know why you retards champion it so hard. It doesn't do anything particularly well.
451 or 45100 are the first codes in system shock 1 and 2
kys IWfag.
