My favorite game? Not well, because its FFIX. mechanically challenging systems isn't an important for the genre and doesn't make or break a good JRPG. My favorite PLATFORMER (Where mechanical challenge actually matters) is DKC, so probably high tier along with DKC2 even though 2 is harder.

What context is this "tier list" supposed to occupy? It seems entirely arbitrary in both its reasoning and its definition of "skill", which seems to be the primary motivation of it. You need to quantify exactly what you're referring to before a list like this even makes sense. "Skill" could be referring to any number of things, and how you overcome challenges in a video game is a very contextual thing. Super Metroid is objectively "harder" than DKC 2 on a technical depending on the C O N T E X T, for example, and is much more of a cognitive challenge in general. The same could be said about Super Mario World. Megaman X, while a brilliant game, isn't hard in ANY fucking context. Why would you even put that there, and not the original Megaman?

TL;DR, in the way of tier lists, yours is very low tier due to a failure in virtually every facet. Most likely created specifically to superficially anger Super Metroid fans with flagrant-yet-veiled ignorance and shit flinging.

This is nowhere near what modern "waifushit" is. For one, you actually had to play and be good at the game for this to happen, so most people only knew Samus was a girl from getting a lesser ending. Furthermore, the very fact of her gender was kept secret, and only revealed after you've regarded Samus as yourself in a way, thus the sort of impression you have of her is not of a possible mate to woo, but a cool space commando who took an awesome trip with you to destroy a Space Brain.

The connection between the played and Samus is more akin to the player and Link, and this is shown by how the Samus porn only started flooding in after Smash Brawl revealed her to secondaries, who didn't have the same connection to the character. Also note how most porn/lewd is EXCLUSIVELY of the Zero Suit.

i can grind in games but when it's a story heavy game they can fuck off, i prefer RPGs that incorporate skill mechanics along side the basic rpg skills of knowing when to heal/damage with what each turn since there's only so much you can do in turn based RPGs

I beat Crono Trigger without ever grinding recently. Fuck I skipped just about ever enemy I could. I also didnt use any cheesy strats. Back in the day, I used to think most people had my skills. My reaction timing isn't the best, and I panic under stress, which results in sloppy play. But my skills are navigation, and problems solving. So while I enjoyed games like DKC2, F-Zero, MMX, and MW. I excelled at ALttP, Metroid, and Chrono Trigger.

I used to think other people could navigate and problem solve just as well as me. But then I started watching all my favorite games on twitch. And I started encountering people who panicked when they didn't know where to go. People who got pissy if the next objective wasn't shoved in their face. People who would whine to the chat, asking for solutions to simple puzzles. Oh sure, some of them fought the enemies better than I did. But they lose their way easily, and start blubbering about bad game design, because they have to backtrack.

I now realize just how utterly SHIT some players are at playing these seeming low skill games. The best players are the ones with not only the reaction speed, not only the coolness under pressure, but also the ability to navigate, and the ability to problem solve. These are highly adaptable players who can work around any situation.
