I drank JD by default for years and didn't get the big deal with whiskey, then I had Black Bush and Jameson. Those aren't probably the greatest whiskeys either but at least they taste of something.

The trick is to drink a shit load of water after drinking alcohol. Alcohol dehydrates the shit out of you, so if you drink a lot of water before sleeping you won't get the terrible headache. Unless you mix a shit ton of drinks, like shots of whiskey, shots of vodka , and 12 beers (trust me I made that mistake)

Off topic threads usually have better discussion of topics than their respective boards. I put it down to two reasons - firstly that we're less familliar with the subject (for example I once enjoyed an excellent LoGH thread on here, whereas you'd struggle to get a thread going on Yea Forums because everyone so invested into anime has discussed it to death a decade ago, similarly Yea Forums used to have excellent Blazblue threads that you couldn't get on here), and secondly that shitposters are drawn to low effort threads that are technically on topic even if they have no actual value, like console war threads.

Find yourself some Canadian Mist then, 750ml for about $10. It has a decent taste itself, and since it's dirt cheap you shouldn't feel bad about experimenting with it. My favorite being pouring a lot of glugs into some Sprite with a lot of ice
