Based on what I've read, you shouldn't start with BL for a no same-y route order.
Optimal order for you I think would be BL -> GD/Church (make a save before choosing church instead of BE) -> load, Non-NG+ BE -> Church/GD
Saves you from having to replay church/GD right after the other, and having to replay the identical pre-skip 10 or however many chapters of church and BE. You lose out on the statue bonuses though. But if repeating the pre-skip doesn't matter, you can NG+ it.
Personally I'm doing Church -> BL -> GD -> BE, mostly because I fucked up wanting to marry Lysi my first run but also wanting to do a les run with Edgeltard

Students are a joke to recruit, you can spam gifts and they will join in 1 day. In NG+ and onwards, you can recruit your favourites the first free day

No, you need A for an automatic join, which can only be done in newgame+.

Its not hard but each student has their own recruitment requirements and the ones that need riding or heavy armor are harder to fulfill unless you train specifically to recruit them. I missed recruiting Leonie on my first play through for that reason.

Looking back on it it was a pretty fun route, although it kinda dragged near the end. Seteth becoming your lord replacement was actually kinda cool. I don't know if he was written this way intentionally, but the fact that he seems really eager to install Byleth as the supreme leader of Fodlan is interesting. Like he advises a retreat while the 3 main factions duke it out and pretty much annihilate each other, and only once they're weakened you swoop in and finish off Edelgard. Then you wipe out the slithers, and then finally kill Rhea herself and her most loyal knights. Essentially everything you have is about sweeping away all power structures, leaving a vacuum that Byleth can seize.

Also the Catherine ending is cute as hell

Just start over. The Church route lets you fight Edelgard but you're still stuck with that cast of characters and with the story of having been with Edelgard all along. Keep the save file for later but finish BL first. Its a much more satisfying story and it will shed light on Edelgard's motivations and might change your opinion on her. Her ending in BL is actually quite tragic and knowing her past in greater detail helps humanize her.

Divine Pulse, basically allows you to undo a fuck up without restarting the map, it's good, not broken or anything.

Upgrade your professor level and then unlock the rest of the statues.
After maxing your professor levels you get like 3k before you spend any on the statues, once you get the Statues maxed you basically start spending them on supports so you can easily recruit others.
