Eh, fuck you. I just got back to playing it since 2010

I usually end up with a sprawling underground complex made out of the side of a hill or a villager house I evicted.
One time I made one with a gigantic tree farm, was pretty good until the server shut down.

You're overbuilding.

Nice over designed house, heh.

Actually, it's a test world. I always plan what my house would look like before creating a new world on survival.

1. Bedroom
2. Bathroom
3. Brewing Room
4. Dining Room
5. Kitchen
6. Storage A
7. Library and Enchanting Room
8. Living Room
9. Smithing Room
10. Storage Room B
11. Smelting Room

anything beyond a place where you can stand in with a door is overbuilding seeing as there is no purpose to the building part of the game other than building
literally just put dirt around you and win every single encounter

That sounds like a name of a mod

Cobble/andesite and polished andesite are very useful, though they shouldn’t be used as main walls. You can sometimes get away with putting the bottom block of a wall as cobble, just a small wall, or a path.

That's actually pretty cool OP.

Right now it's looking a bit basic. I got a nice big swimming pool though, still need to add a diving board. And some glowstone blocks to light up the pool once I get into the Nether. Fucking monsters keep sneaking in to swim at night. And then the zombies drown, because they're swimming at night, of course you're gonna drown dumbass, and then I have a Drowned infestation in my pool. Which getting out is an even bigger pain in the ass than having to fish one of that fucking traveling merchant's alpaca's turds out of the pool. You'd expect him to help clean up, but noooooo. How do zombies even drown, anyway? They don't breathe, they're already dead!

You're cool!

Why. Did they also up the chances of finding structures too?

Whats the best way to do interior lights? I tried doing a 'triple wall' where the middle wall is redstone and the result looks like dogshit. I can do interiors all day, but every exterior I make looks like a standard bland ass box.

It's more that I keep things needed in adjacent rooms in each storage room. Left storage room contains minerals, tools, furnace fuel, and unused cobble and dirt blocks. Right storage contains food, cooking ingredients, and brewing ingredients.

Meh

Attached: 2019-08-12_23.34.49.png (1920x1051, 1.36M)

The roofs usually are one of the first things I do. I tend to lose all my motivation when the exterior is finished and I have a bunch of empty rooms I need to fill.

also general building rules. Never use a single block type when building. use oak logs to make a frame and then build the walls inset one block. Use a stone block as a foundation to add some contrast, andesite or cobble works well.

Use stained glass instead of clear glass, white is usually good. Also add a faming around the window with a different wood block, birch planks should work.

its not impossible to build nice things only using one kind of block

Attached: 2018-01-29_17.10.06.png (1920x1017, 3.25M)

My plans for additions:
>A tunnel that links to a large open air cavern nearby which I'm going to start a major mining operation from and probably put my Nether Portal.
>A canopy hanging over the garden which will be the main station for a system of skyrails for quick travel to the nearby dark forest, swamp and savannah biomes.
>An animal farm hidden behind the painting.
>A jungle tree grown on the roof of the main station canopy which you can climb to reach an enchanting table on top.

Attached: Other side.png (1914x993, 2.68M)

It's not impossible but it helps in most cases to break up the sameyness. Even in structures like that you could add some cracked brick, stone, andesite, or cobble and it would look way better

What's the texture pack my dude?

John Smith Legacy with optifine.

thanks

Attached: gregorian chants play in the background.png (1920x1080, 1.71M)

this is a pretty good example of something that could be improved with some variation. the church looks nice but could look better with a bit of mossy brick and andesite.

Also adding a nice winding path in front leading to the door made of gravel, stone and cobble would look good.

The roof needs upside-down stairs on the bottom to have a proper overhang.

do yourself a favor and get yourself a mending villager. Try and transform him into a zombie and cure him beforehand so you can get mending books for cheap.

Mending and unbreaking III are absolutely essential for large projects.

If you want to be set for life on everything you can do what I did and build a villager breeder with a rail system to a zombifier that links up with a trading hall like this.

Attached: javaw_2019-08-08_15-43-10.png (2560x1440, 1.28M)

How can the game devolve into e-celeb cancer if you play it by yourself?

Because he's some sperg who can't play a game other people like without feeling self conscious.

anything remotely popular will have e-celebs surrounding it. why do you care? why do you let them ruin things for you?

It doesn't have to do with the game itself, but with the fact that there's a 99,99% chance that the autistic zoomerfaggots with their minecraft nostalgia threads grew up watching and unironically liking e-celeb cancer, and now think they hold the right to post on my video game board.

Attached: 1515794694762.gif (800x452, 1.39M)

I did the cobblestone "frame" around a furnace in my last build for it too look more like a old style cooking oven. Also used cobblestone wall to make a chimney.
I think I will improve it by putting a netherrack under the oven and lighting it up, but first I need to do some changes to isolate it from the wooden construction of the house. I also had a room under the fountain and used glass blocks and panes to make a water pipe that fuels the fountain.

Pretty great looking, personally I'd make an indent on the front facing sides of the wood roof so it isn't so flat then throw some oak in those indents for a bit more variety

Is the thread about minecraft or let's plays?

>people are having a good time
>NO THIS IS NOT ALLOWED ON MY SCKRET VIDEO GAME CLUB
I know youre just a zoomer trying to fit in but be less obvious

I pretty much copied an existing design by a hermitcraft guy called iskall with a few modifications to suit my needs.

It's a pretty ingenious system. You need a zombie that can pick up items, those don't despawn. Give him a sword with sharpness to speed up the process.

You cart up a villager from the breeder to a zombifier station, the zombie will almost immediately kill him because of the sharpness sword, and turn him into a zombie villager. when the guy turns into a zombie he then gets sent to the curing station on the left. That dispenser is filled with weakness potions and I just need to press the button to hit him with one. When cured he pops out of the minecart and falls through the iron trapdoor, where I use another minecart system to send him to the occupation setting station on the right. Once I get a good trade I lock him in and push the button on the ground, which is hooked up to a sticky piston that pulls back the block under the villager causing him to fall while in the minecart onto another set of tracks that lead up to the trading hall.

Over there I have a lever that switches the track to either let the villager go into the trading station or go to a holding area in case he needs another go (sometimes it takes more than one curing to get the more expensive trades down to reasonable prices). The trading hall itself is pretty cool too. This is the tutorial I followed for that.

youtu.be/KkAfO281AZQ

Attached: file.png (2560x1440, 1.45M)

I also have a villager detection system on top of the building. Just in case a minecart somehow gets up there without a villager, which can happen because they tend to not want to cooperate. It's just a string/observer setup connected to a sticky piston that pushes in a powered rail only when a villager is in the minecart.

They always look like shit, the only reason to use them is if you're playing on survival hard so faggot zombies aren't constantly breaking down your wooden ones.

Just curious if any of you care about this project being cancelled. It would've been nice for higher end machines.

Yeah, Dilatecraft it's a better game

this game was popular before then
it got popular through chans like this and word of mouth
I played the shit out of it back when it was just a 20x20 grid in a browser

keep that in mind next time you want to be an epic cynical asshole, you just look like a tool

Ok Ive been wondering this for a while but why hasnt Microsoft just converted the code from Java to C# when they acquired the property? Java fucking sucks for running this in comparison to C#

I didn't know it had been cancelled. Whatever, thats what shaders are for anyway, right? Or was this even higher quality?

anyone got any good texture pack suggestions?
I'm looking for something fresh and interesting not the usual same old
I'd prefer it was like some goofy shit and like bright and colorful
I picture like a 90s video game kinda deal, like the worlds from say sonic or some kinda circus shit
I'd make my own but I can't into art at all and its a big undertaking for someone who has trouble just making a fucking steve skin

I'd love something that just really transforms the visuals from the usual grass and trees and shit

It is a good tool for acquiring an appreciation of architecture. Making a coliseum or temple can show the importance of pillars and buttresses, you can try to make a house that would actually be structurally sound etc.

You're only saying this becuase the game is popular again.

>Biblio lanterns
Not a fan of the models, but nice house. If you have railcraft or immersive engineering, those lanterns fit in waaaay better with minecraft

start a world with cheats off. open it to lan with cheats off. You'll have to restart the game if you want to cheat after that

>the importance of pillars
Why would those matter when even cobblestone stays floating in place?
Minecraft is only somewhat good for house planning or design, since you learn some concepts about visuals that are appliable to reality

Isn't that what Bedrock Edition is?
