It was pretty good but I wish it had playable Proto Man and Bass

Worst Wily Castle yet, only two actual levels and the second is absurdly short. Entire game is a cakewalk for seasoned Mega Man fans even without the already busted gear system. Completely squanders it's own potential by not having Protoman and Bass, or any kind of DLC at all except the crappy piano music.

Enough bitching though, what about the good?

Extremely charming and some of my favorite robot masters yet. Designs of all the enemies are A+++ and perfect uses of some classic enemies. Best Roll design yet. I like Mega Man himself's redesign. Game feels good in 3D.

Mighty Gunvolt Burst is unironically better and also has more SOUL.

Attached: 235353.jpg (1280x720, 419K)

It was very good but I would have traded the stage length for additional and more concise levels. It's well made and fun but harder to replay because the stages are so much longer than normal.

what about original mighty gunvolt?

I thought it was shit. Mega man 8 was better.

Take it or leave it, nothing spectacular.

Good fun.
I just hope it doesn't take another 8 fucking years for the next one.

>Designs of all the enemies are A+++
I love those clown so much

Good: RMs are great and so are the abilities, always-on Rush and weapon-wheel are really good ideas, solid stage design for most of it, voice work doesn't suck
Bad: endgame is way too short, soundtrack has only a few great pieces, MM runs like a doofus and can't jump through gates, Wily doesn't eyebrow

Overall a good 8/10 game just needing a bit of polish to feel complete.

Not that good, honestly.

2, 3, and arguably 8 had much worse Wily castles.

I had low expectations but it ended up being one of my favorites in the series. Hell, one of my favorite games this gen.

This tbqh.

One of the best. A return to form. Great effort by Capcom!
>Post Game Launch Yea Forums
It's shit. Doesn't deserve to be in the Capcom Renaissance list

It's a fun game and worth a playthrough. One of the finest action platformers in recent times. It doesn't exactly reach the heights of the franchise, but it's still up there and there's nothing bad about that.

Attached: 52430beb69bedd9a4c6cd2ce-750.jpg (608x456, 31K)

Second best game from the classic series, first one being MM9.

MGVB is kino but you're a literal faggot.

Second best classic MM behind 9. Special weapons were consistently great and the right stick weapon select is the best thing to happen to this series since the Jet Suit in 6.

this. the QoL changes were very welcome to have. it'd be a waste if it doesn't continue to be used in more games.

It's good. It falters in some areas but then there are other things it does very well like the robot masters and the special weapons. Ultimately it's not really a game that stuck with me for long though and that's half because of the endgame and half because of the direction they took the music in.

Great. Really fun RM weapons and switching on stick/rush buttons is probably the best additions to the series.

it's another soulless nostalgia-pandering product made for the type of nu-males who collect funko pops and watch capeshit.
capcom needs to apologize to their fans and release legends 3. mega man deserves better than indie-tier rehashes like mm11.

I liked it.

I liked it a lot. I do think shop items should have been more expensive, beating the game on superhero is trivial with etank spam

Legends sucks anus. I'll never forgive the series for that abysmal water dungeon in 2. Glad its dead.

How do I get good as Proto Man in Mega Man 9?

by being more familiar with the level design and boss patterns.

I had an argument with someone regarding the game's difficulty. He arrogantly insisted that the game was too difficult with a bunch of cheap shot enemies, pitfalls, and various sections that made the gears mandatory. I called him a cunt and explained how every one of his problem sections were easy to maneuver around with or without gear usage and how weapon switching would make some sections trivial. He insisted that all I did was watch a speedrun and did not take my profile achievements platinuming the game seriously.
The worst part was that there were people agreeing with him. This made me realize that Capcom including the gear system elwaa absolutely necessary. People are fucking shit nowadays. Gears allow these retards to clear the sections on their terms without having to dumb down the base level or enemy placement design for veterans. It's just astonishing that they still manage to have trouble even with such a system in place

>I had an argument with someone
>I called him a cunt
>The worst part was that there were people agreeing with him

What's the lesson to be learned here, user?

Legends fans are truly obnoxious. All they ever do is bitch and whine and crash everyone else's party. I'm glad Bandai put them in their place back when they had the D-Arts figure poll.

Good game. Not my favorite MegaMan game, but its fun.

It was a hostile conversation to begin with. He was arguing with another guy before I jumped in, and their agreements were to his points of the game being unfair.

Fair enough, but as a general rule outside of Yea Forums if you insult someone as part of your argument, people will generally tend not to take your side out of principle.
In fact, the more pissed off someone is, and calmer and more smug you are in response, you'll always come out on top, regardless if your argument is weak or not.

8/10
Would have cut the main levels by about 1/5 for some more dev time on the Wily Castle as it’s rather short. Double gear was a nice mechanic to mess around with. The levels and enemies are designed well enough to never need the double gear system making gearless runs a natural alternative challenge. Free alternative soundtrack download and the Superhero difficulty feels right in the spirit of Megaman as the standard difficulty felt a bit easy.

I somehow enjoy having the options. This was the first megaman I played seriously and while I didn't use the shop, the speed gear helped me a lot in a couple of tricky sections. As I get better and I replay it a couple times, it will be nice to play without using them.
I guess all I am trying to say is that leaving the player a choice is the best form of selectable difficulty, really.

Wanted to play it, never got around to, forgot it existed.

Thanks for reminding me user.

I wish we had another Bass fight with him using gears as well

Pretty good not better than 9 but one of the better MM games

good:
>very good weapon set
>voice acting doesn’t want to make me want to blow my fucking brains out
>fair difficulty
>bios are interesting to read
>the shop is a good addition as usual
>gear system is a beautiful addition
bad:
>music could have been better, and the wily fortress could have used more songs
>stages are too long like in MM10
>no Proto, Bass, or Roll DLC yet
conclusion: 9.5/10

>with him using gears as well

8 was not better in any way. Sure these two are next to each other near the bottom, but both are second and third worst with &bass in dead last

The Wily Castle theme was really good, at least.
youtube.com/watch?v=k25HxbDSNO8

You're right, but it's not the same like 7-10 did a different theme for each Wily stage

Its on sale maybe I should get it
The demo was just ok I thought

Block Man's stage isn't the most exciting.
He has one of the more interesting boss fights, though.

Was fun, but here's hoping for another X game
>Entire game is a cakewalk for seasoned Mega Man fans
This is literally every mega man

Why would you hold such a blatantly wrong opinion?

I don't know how the Light Challenge wasn't split in half to make two Wily Stages.
How the fuck is it that Dr.Light made a more challenging course than Wily has in 11 games?

I mean he made megaman, he is clearly the better doctor

>&bass in dead last
WRONG

>Weapons
Best special weapons of the entire franchise.
I never used special weapons until I got the robot masters since the buster was more than enough for the levels. But mm11 I was using specials left and right and loved it.
Shame the older games' weapons aren't nearly as useful. Only one that comes close is mm9.
Having the special weapons change rock's appearance was also a really cool touch that I hope they keep for every megaman after this (X series included)
>Music
Base music was meh, but the instrumental dlc was really good and should've been the default music imo. The arranged tracks are amazing, and 11 easily has the best stage select music.
>Graphics
Perfect. Nothing was bad, stages were super interesting and it looks so much better than mn9 did when it tried to leave the pixel style (and much better than how x8 was handled)
>Gear mechanic
Very good for newcomers, and even for veterans the power gear can be fun to mess with (and the powered up specials are really fun as well)
>Bosses
Very fun, Wily was kinda meh though
>Disappointments
I wish proto/bass were playable but whatever I guess. Shame that dlc listing on steamdb never ended up being anything afaik.
>Final conclusion
One of the best classic games, just wish it had more content
Also Dr Lights Challenge can go die in a fire

A good Mega Man game. People don't talk about it much because there's no controversy.

I'll have to look it up, but it was one of his interviews shortly after leaving Capcom. Let me google it.

I really like it, but I understand if other people don't. It took a while to grow on me and I think my preference for MMX might have played a role in me liking it.

Speaking of X, I have never been able to get into that series no matter how many times I try. Out of all the different MM series, X has the worst aesthetics imo.

Honestly I don't see how Torch Man's stage and Wily Castle 2 isn't total bullshit without Speed Gear.

>Shinti Kusorates

have you tried not being retarded?

Who are you quoting?

The biggest problem with the X series is that the game aren't nearly as consistently good like classic.
x1, x2, x4, x6 and maybe x5 are the only good ones. And even then none of those touch the better classic games.

Have you? Those levels are badly designed.

State your case

If it had an extra playable character or two and an extra Wily stage or two, it would be hands down the best classic Mega Man game. Depending on how much you value quality vs quantity of content, it could still be the best. It and 9 are tied for my top spot.

Moving insta kill walls with a ton of shielded shit in your way making it a pain in the dick to beat them buster only.

I haven't played it yet. I've recently been seeing it for $14.99 brand new, so I'm sure I'll be getting it shortly. I think I'm gonna get Mega Man X Legacy Collection and MM11 at the same time.

Use rapidfire

I liked it, but honestly I remember so little about it. Game didn't leave much of an impression, but it also didn't leave a negative or bored one. I'd probably replay it if there was character DLC.

not as good as 10

That user is just saying a mocking distortion of the developer of Mighty Gunvolt Burt's name, Inti Creates.

So just a sped.

You now remember Plum

Charge shot now has the added affect of getting shielded enemies out of shield and giving you enough time to rapid shot them. Most of the sections with shield enemies have alternative routes.

Surprisingly difficult to find. It's a post exit interview when people still saw him in a positive light. All results point to the 4Gamer interview, but that wasn't it, and using RE, DMC or Mega Man to refine it only brings up articles about the new games.
As of now, file it under "Dude Trust Me". Next time I bring it up, I'll link the article.

low key the best one, or at least tied with 9
if Protoman and Bass were playable it would be the best by an absolute landslide

Yeah we all know Light is a fucking faggot, the only good thing he ever did was creating Roll, Wily destroyed the entire world, saved it and then achieved true peace with his magnum opus.

I've been playing for 8 hours and haven't beaten a single level. End me

Besides MN9, what else did Con Man do wrong? Legit question

Attached: 1564965824717.jpg (600x480, 120K)

Maybe I should buy the upgrades, lives, and heals

Isn't that the point of these games? To keep trying each stage until you win?

Its not megaman 7 so i really dont care.

Quite good for what's obviously a budget game. Wily's castle was clearly rushed though

Attached: 1560892846027.jpg (960x666, 102K)

DmC:DMC was by his demand
basically any dumb reboots to appeal to the western market are his fault

]Not sure what they'd do with Protoman if he were added. Would he play like his Powered up Self or just be a challenge mode with the shield and double damage issues?

Bass's buster, dash and double jump are different enough but Blues doesn't have as much to work with as his little brother since Rock got the slide and charge shot back.

I remember thinking maybe they could try and split things up.
Give Bass Speed Gear and Blues Power gear with some added features to both.
(Maybe something like different levels of gear use maybe?)
To show Rock be the balanced one between the two and the other being opposite specialists.
Also tying into how all the other RMs in game could only use one gear.

s'alright.

Yeah, the only thing it's missing is Protoman and/or Bass and a couple more Wily stages.

I suppose but I doubt anyone has been trying them out for 8 hours

is this your first mega man game?

>instrumental DLC

Are you FUCKING KIDDING ME? I HAD NO IDEA!!!

I've played a few but the only one I've "completed" was the first Mega Man X and I used a shit ton of save states. Also I just discovered the shop so I think I've been farming for screws for a few hours but I spent most of it on parts

Giving them a focus on one gear would be a good call.

Proto Man could have a quicker and better charge shot with some recoil like the Power shot in exchange for the damage increase and two pellets, making him into more of a glass cannon type. Greater risk, greater reward.

Even more of a pipe dream than Bass and Proto Man DLC, but maybe they could have their own Fortress levels geared for their abilities.

It's also free.
Think it might have been a pre order bonus but they've now released it to everyone.

No idea if you're being sarcastic or not.
If yes, instrumental probably isn't the right word probably. I mean the alt music dlc > base music

Music was awesome, everything else was average or slightly above.

Would have enjoyed it much, much more if they continued the NES line like they did with 9 and 10.

It was a pre-order bonus and holy crap capcom/amazon screwed people over. Let me list the main points:
>Capcom didn't even send out all of the codes on time, so lots of people didn't even get the codes until a while afterwards
>Even when contacting customer service for amazon, they'd get a xbox dlc code instead of a ps4 one or vice versa.
>Amazon didn't send codes out to people who preordered *before the dlc was announced*
That last one affected me, so I had to stay up until midnight explaining to customer service what "DLC" is and that the game came fine, I just need the dlc.

To be fair, Light did take safety precautions with X and left him sealed and to be awoken at the discretion of other humans in the distant future.
The real faggot is Cain for not only having reploids mass produced, but doing so with an incomplete understanding of how X worked.

>endgame is way too short
this is the biggest critique I have of the game
Gear Fortress 1 is such a great stage and I expected more then you get a bunch of nothing for the rest of the game in terms of actual stages

>Music was awesome, everything else was average or slightly above.
Funny, I felt the exact opposite.

Thanks Doc Wily

Attached: 76757-25.png (200x400, 55K)

Not being sarcastic, I literally had no idea. Now the music sounds fantastic, not the best compositions, but now I think that it´s something worthy.

Fire Clover Studios.

No I don't. Fuck Battle and Chase, never even played it.

>He hates MM&B just because he heard some e-celeb talk trash about it
>He can't beat King's Stage 2
Imao

Redesigning Mega Man for the boss weapons like how it was originally planed in the first game was such a good call.

King Stage 2 is a nightmare, and I'm still not sure how I beat it as Bass once.

You think X6 is good, but X3 is not? Get out!

Ok let me clarify before you pull the pitchforks out:
1) X6 isn't """good""" but it's a guilty pleasure of mine
2) X3 would be a lot better if they just fixed the damage output. Some enemies do WAY too much damage near the start of the game. The music is grading too but every megaman game suffers from that kinda.

Not the best MM game, but still pretty good overall.

The quick weapon switch with the right stick was a stroke of genius, and its inclusion would make every MM game better. Mapping the weapons to the positions of the RMs on the stage select screen was a nice touch and helped in cementing them as memorable. All the bosses have great designs and personalities, making for a very charming roster. This stretches down to the regular enemies Torch Man in particular has maybe the best enemies in the whole game, super fitting for his level. The stages are distinctive and fun, smartly introducing and building upon gimmicks.

The biggest flaws are that the game is too short, lacking a fully fleshed out Wily Castle. I think it would have maybe helped to have an extra boss after the boss refights, like a copy Mega Man (like in MM1), or even have Bass all geared up. Not having any extra playable characters made the short length feel worse, especially since Roll was in the game and she's already been playable in Powered Up. Her, Proto Man or Bass would have been welcomed. The normal music is kinda meh but I really like the instrumental versions, the piano melodies help the levels stand out for me. Plus it has a lot of great extra challenge stuff, and the gallery is cool.

All in all - a great game, one of the best action platformers this gen, easy. Definitely up there in the classic pantheon, but hopefully 12 will build upon it for a meatier experience.

>its inclusion would make every MM game better
Reading this makes me wish the first legacy collection gave us what the old ps2 collection did.
>Triggers to quick swap weapons for 1-6
>Remixed music from the ps1 "remakes"
>An ammo counter so we know exactly how many shots of a special weapon we have like in mm8
And for lc2 all I want is &bass. Come on capcom even if it's just the gba translation on the snes version idc, just give me a legal way to play the *good* version of &bass

Man fuck the GBA version, I literally cannot beat that game and I was trying as hard as I could. Only MM game I've ever played where I was flat out too shit to complete.

This is pretty much my thought process exactly. More Wily content and an extra character would've been good.

Attached: DWN-014.png (627x316, 29K)

>The music is grading too but every megaman game suffers from that kinda.

Only the bad ones, X1 and X2 OSTs are GOAT

Hey, x5-x8 have bopping osts too
x3/x4 are the only meh osts to me

Flash man YES

Reminds me a bit of the Exe/Starforce souls/noises/etc. systems.
Which makes sense I believe an artist from there was involved.

Too bad I can't see it happening in an X game due to the armor systems probalby clashing with it.

>can't jump through gates

This is the reason I didn't touch the game for months. Played the Beta, got to the boss, turned it off once I couldn't jump the door.

>Played the Beta
What?

I think he meant the demo before the game released

I wish I was there

They’d probably take a different approach. I don’t think they’ll just do recolors, if X9 comes out. Maybe have holograms or tie the armor changing abilities to that game’s X armor.

If they do the new generation tech stuff again I'd just have X's armor get a Copy chip built into it at this point.
Naturally evolve the Neutral armor concept.
Light's an AI so he can totally integrate new tech into X.

Well he was correct. His credibility is still decent.

In a related note, Command MIssion look for X9 or another redesign?
I'd be okay with something like Megaman 11 or a much more graphically improved Maverick Hunter X.

Based Flash Man.
