ARMS sold fucking 2 million, it did great, it just didn't retain it's playerbase retard. They still did events up till even after Smash came out, it's just that no one cared.

Story mode and a proper DLC probably would have saved it.

It did well, even if a good amount of people played it to tide things over until Smash was announced. A shame that even Nintendo scrapped it once the bigger fighting game came around.

>single player content in a multiplayer based fighting game would have saved it's multiplayer playerbase
No, ARMS' problem was that on the surface level, it didn't feel like there was enough depth to keep people in it casually to keep coming back to it. High level ARMS is totally different from casual ARMS but people aren't gonna hit that level if they quit early on because they got bored of the game after a month.
That and ARMS was overshadowed by Splatoon 2 which came out a month later, followed by a bevy of other big titles.

>Splatoon 2
And guess what that had? More modes than just multiplayer.

I fucking wanted a story mode so bad. I hope we get more games in the ARMS universe. It's probably dead like the Dillon's Rolling Western RPG, though.

Splatoon's single player can be cleared in maybe 2 hours, there's objectively no difference between it and the ingame storymode ARMS had.

Post the rest fag. Also anyone want to play some ARMS?

Prove me wrong though.
>ARMS grand prix gives you lore, a tutorial and a final boss
>Splatoon 2's Octo Valley gives you lore, a tutorial and a final boss
>both can be cleared quickly and aren't even close to the main focus of the game, which is multiplayer
They both serve the same purpose in the game, the difference is Splatoon 2 had more depth in the multiplayer than ARMS did which is why one got updates for 2 years and the other got updates for like 6 months.

Make me fucker

The only people saying the game is struggling or won't get a sequel is everyone but Nintendo. The only way we will get another entry now is if they want to make one.

We'll definitely get one on the next system.

Fighting game market is oversaturated. Granted it was a mediocre game, if Pokken flopped despite being carried by the Pokémon name it should show how hard it is to get a foot in the door.

>new IP
>fighting game
>got lots of post launch support
>had equivalent of splatfests for like two years
>built a playerbase that loves it
nothing happened, ARMS is great

This game would not have even gotten a second glance from anyone if it wasn't for Nintendo, everything about it screams mediocre and forgettable.

You fuckin' know it. Though did you know her legs are canonically that big?

Post proof.

They mention it off hand in the comic, min min mentions it to Ninjara.

Is that even out yet?
