If you love leaving your game on for 24/7 as your character fishes or automatically walks all over the place at the speed of a snail then it's pretty great, otherwise don't play it.

You have until tomorrow to play the beta for free.

I downloaded it, gonna try it out later but I wanted some educated opinions

That grindy huh?

It's like a real life job, only having to work even when sleeping, with a casino, that is rigged against you at all times, and some of the most tedious grinding out there. If you enjoy sitting in the same area for a year or two, then i guess you'll be fine.

Not OP, but goddamn, thanks for the heads up. It's impossible to imagine you will end up like that from just 3 days of playing.

if you don't play it how the game wants you to play (grinding braindead mobs 20 hours a day) then it can be somewhat fun.

You need 50 usd extra in order to play it correctly

Is the PC version still P2W?

I had 300 hours in this game. I made enough money before I quit to afford a single """good""" item on the auction house, buying it would leave me broke though. Make of that what you will. Also, enjoy getting scammed out of 30% of the money you make unless you buy a premium pass.

yep

Thank god I saw this thread before getting invested in this mmo

Op here, damn. Guess I'll just dick around with the character creator and see how far I can go doing this, I mostly want to have a comfy game to explore, don't really care about "winning". Thanks for the tip off

Only thing this game is good at is making my dick hard when I look at my cute dark knight and listen to her moans.

Unless you grind like an autistic madman, and even then, people will grief the shit out of you in every endgame area there is and tell you to fuck off. If your life is about fishing you'll probably get killed by autistic faggots too in whatever spot you're at. The game is heavily pvp based with whales throwing thousands of dollars at it every day to fail their 50th PEN accessory.
Oh, yeah, accessories gets destroyed if you fail to upgrade them. Gear downgrades if it fails after +15. The game comes with the worst possible enhancement system imaginable as well, but if you're planning on playing it you'll soon get to witness that too.

I tried playing like this. It didn't work.
>i'll just explore and do quests
>my lvl and AP aren't high enough for this area so I guess I'll grind
>2 days later of non stop grind and a weapon bought off the AH later, I can explore the area I want
>hit another grind wall
>while I'm grinding, another player zips up and destroys me in no time
>respawn and try to get some revenge
>my attacks do absolutely nothing
>he laughs and tells me to shoo before he kills me again
And then i stopped playing. It's just not worth it.

I have a question about the story since I played the beta.
Is your character actually the ancient evil awakened ?

the grind to reward ratio is so low and you end up doing the same motions just in a different place as you skill up the whole fucking game and if you're trying to find a way to make money i hope you like grinding the same action for literally months on end. if its fishing, cooking, or trying to get rare drops from killing monsters there will be no variety in your day

The player character is just one of many random people who have been possessed by a black spirit. You basically have a parasite supercharging you to grow stronger and stronger so that it can eventually reunite with the whole.

Doesn't matter. The story's shit anyway. Grinding is all that matters.

I got that is common for people to get possessed by a black spirit, but I had hopes you were "special" because of your particular possession. Goddamn what a mess.

You're special in that you don't become a complete mindless slave to it like you find in some ancient ruins. You also eventually get it under control for the most part. I like this approach to player characters more than being the chosen one.

Yes I liked that part too, but it would have been pretty cool if you were supposed to be the demon lord reincarnation of some shit, like an evil chosen one, but not evil in the end.

Seems like a giant piece of crap, shame of the godlike char creator

I'm going to miss my big titty witch.

I'm glad people are clarifying the grinding thing, because I just started yesterday. I'd heard about a grind being there, but this sounds obnoxious.

the game manages to fool you for a bit. but its becomes evident the farther you get into it that fucking everything you want to get or do requires an ungodly level of grinding

>be officer in node war/siege guild
>be neet
>spend whole day preparing for node war
>wake up
>make sure retard guildmates sent workers to the fort
>finish building fort because they didn't
>wait for fort to finish building
>go to build defences and buildings for the fort
>go prepare my own shit for node war
>create groups for node war for retard guildmates to ignore and ask retard questions about
>5 minutes until node war
>3 people are on discord
>node war starts
>enemy guild built next door to ours by chance
>we get removed within 10 minutes
>repeat

Fuck BDO, game's great if you just want to explore and enjoy the combat but the pvp and gear enhancement will suck you in and destroy everything you love

>gear enhancement
fucking soul crushing at higher levels. 50 billion silver just just to give yourself an extra 1-2 ap and go "now i just need another 10 to be able to grind the next level of enemies that will make silver collecting 10% more efficient

That's basically how people fall for the trap of playing how the game wants you to play. Grinding mobs non-stop is almost a basic requirement of all players to enable you to do what you want so it's difficult to play differently. It's just a downward spiral and before you know it, you'll be those guys who leave a bad review with 5k hours and a couple hundred $$$ spent. It's good you quit early.
I didn't bother with quests because the early ones I tried were just 'kill x amount of y', I just explored the gameworld, tamed wild horses, spent a long time sailing the seas to small islands, took lots of screenshots, fapped to the character creator.. Didn't bother with the in-depth lifeskill worker empire system. From my experince, I enjoyed my time exploring but I would've hated it if I grinded to level 60+ or tried to get TET or PEN gear for pvp.
