It's interesting how Vice City had Tommy Vercetti becoming the kingpin of the Vice City drug trade, and then along comes San Andreas, showing you the consequences of a guy like Tommy establishing a city-wide drug empire from the perspective of the people whose lives were ruined by it.

letting drugs infest your community is the easiest way to ruin it. an influx of hard drugs like coke or heroin can destroy a neighborhood because it creates a dependency where you remain broke, stupid, addicted, and never advance in life, stuck in an endless cycle of using your spare income to buy drugs. it's exactly the reason drugs were purposely introduced into black communities in the 70's to keep them poor and stupid so they wouldn't be a threat. It makes perfect sense why CJ doesn't want the same thing to happen to Grove Street, he's preventing a long-term systematic problem, and kills people to ensure it doesn't happen, protecting the rest of the neighborhood

Man Toreno was the real star of the show the moment he introduced himself

Trevor jumps from comic relief, to creepy sadist, to a preaching and walking humanization of irony all throughout the story
I liked him as the guy who can provide the goofy and spontaneous humor to compliment two sarcastic assholes trying to be straight men, but then it feels like they want you to also want you to feel sympathetic for him, be afraid, and come to a reluctant agreement over some of his views which is meant to be profound because a meth head hillbilly is ranting about things like modern society and corrupted governments.
I say any two combinations of those traits would work, but too many makes him a muddled character in my opinion

What's wrong with feeling sympathy for T every now and then? Yes some things about Trevor should be toned down but the rest is okay. You must also Trevor is a broken person and he hates everyone, so of course he's gonna trash talk about the goverment and modern society.

I got no problem, because it’s true that Trevor has been suffering for the better part of his entire life, but the clash between Trevor slipping into moody revelations about his life, and then beating a person to death/committing a heinous crime a cutscene or two later and making a somewhat absurd joke/quote is jarring, and not usually in the good way
Like you said, it could be toned down a bit to make his dynamic with the game 'better'
