Jump into a hole and die, you scum.
>This was designed, developed, and produced by a multicultural team of various beliefs, sexual orientations and gender identities
What about neither?
Take a game like any Touhou. Start the game and you actually start the game without any tutorial horseshit or 30 minutes of cutscenes.
No one wants to sit through
a) An hour-long tutorial that's supposed to be gameplay but it's just the game telling you to press space to jump
b) 30 minutes of cutscenes and WORDSWORDSWORDSWORDS
>you can't skip the developer/publisher logo screens
Red Dead Redemption 2's opening was both a and b, holy fuck was that first mission abysmal to play

>An hour-long tutorial that's supposed to be gameplay but it's just the game telling you to press space to jump
Jet Set Radio's tutorial is like only two minutes long but it feels like an eternity. You can skip the tutorial dialogue & cutscenes but they don't cut immediately. They take like 30 seconds to fade to black. Steam wipes my JSR save every time I close the game too so I flat out HAVE to watch it every time I want to replay. I could probably beat it in one sitting but I can't stand sitting through that tutorial.

If the first weapon you get is a melee weapon, more specifically some kind of tool, then it will be a good game.

this is a big one. if the developer's logo can be skipped but the producer's can't, it's a sure sign that even if the game is good, the franchise will eventually get raped and left for dead.

>sequence breaking is both possible and encouraged
This is a harsh truth not many are willing to admit. I like a good pair of titties when I see 'em, but a game has nothing to show for it if it doesn't have any content or substance to its gameplay. Fanservice should be a secondary thing, but there's no harm in adding it.
It's more of a sign of the game being good due to it being non-SJW-friendly. If there isn't fanservice and the girls are ugly, you get the new Wolfenstein or Far Cry.
How many games do this?

Every shooter does this nowadays, and older games that are good didn't, so I wouldn't really call it a green flag, even though I enjoy details.

>inb4 Emma is fan-service
No fuck off she is well-dressed and not used in advertisement.
>Multiple game modes besides campaign
>Multiple options when starting a new campaign besides just difficulty
If you throw gameplay out the window in favour of fanservice, you get shit like gacha and other shallow trash. Political spooks don't mean nothing, I know you're trying to rip me off if your game revolves entirely around anime tiddies.
And let's not pretend Wolfenstein and Far Cry were worth giving a shit about after RTCW and FC3 Blood Dragon.
It's also important to note that fanservice isn't just sexy stuff.
Companies market shit with returning fan favorites and promise returns to form all the time. That's not to say that's always bad or a lie, but it often is just a ploy to get people back in the series or mask underlying issues that were never addressed.
The biggest problem is that this kind of fanservice is pretty effective across the board. The amount of people who apparently choose to buy or skip a game cause of characters appearing fall into this trap.
>there are items/doors/terrain placed innocuously which you don't give a second thought during a normal playthrough
>when you sequence break it suddenly becomes clear the developer anticipated what you did and placed those things there specifically for people following this path
Name 100 more games that do this. Feel free to make a image in ms paint so you don't get passed the word limit on 4channel
>movement mechanics let you go fast as fuck

Hey guys check out unturned
Yeah it was a bit of fun.
I said DayZ and I mean it because I really enjoy the journey through the woods with a bunch of friends.
Most newer fps have C mapped to crouch by default, it's awkward as fuck.
Seriously? The only games where I've ever seen crouch bound to C were older ones
revival jam was dogshit user, if you had trouble against it you were trash and didnt belong in the game
Maybe we're from different dimensions.
The older games where ctrl wasn't used for crouching I remember are ones without crouching at all and ctrl was used for firing the gun instead, like Doom.
Why would you ever use B as a confirm button?
>Slide / wall kick
I had Day Z at the time when I owned a PC too and it never caught my attention like unturned which sucks. Really wanted to find that appeal of DayZ but I never found it. Honestly I'm probably some form of brainlet, I found the pacing laborous and appreciate the arcady nature of Unturned. So, I played up until around the time the Yukon map released and the introduction of random (?) loot boxes.
After I upgraded my gpu I moved on but I had a shitton of fun dicking around on pvp servers. Plus the gun modification mechanic + skill investment were pretty f neat.
What game does this?

I'd advise giving it another try since there's modding now, and people have removed survival features on their servers, you might find one that you enjoy.

R.I.P
Really I think my problem was that I were playing alone where I feel this game really shines when having a buddy or a group to roam with. I enjoy survival mechanics as a matter of fact and found the Long Dark an amazing game to experience which is nothing but overcoming the elements. Anyway like I mentioned it's been years and I'm sure a lot has changed since the last time I booted up a PC. Although now that I have been informed of steam workshop I'll be giving it's page a look see on what's available.
Btw if you dig the survival genre and you haven't looked into it yet do yourself a favor and check out NEO Scavenger. May or may not be worth your time.
Do not mention that game. It still hurts.
You can replace the Dark Arisen theme with Flying into Free on PC.

Same here, I'm enjoying some indie games and older titles while getting money to build a new one.
>my problem was that I were playing alone

It can be an issue, especially for looting/hoarding stuff, and of course PvP, but I think half my hours are playing solo.
>the Long Dark an amazing game to experience which is nothing but overcoming the elements
I have to try it out, I played one of the first builds and never went back to it, I really liked the survival aspect and visuals.
One of the DayZ devs is working on the side on a map named Namalsk, you might want to keep an eye on it, since it includes survival aspects similar to TLD, with water freezing, the need to heat your food and yourself.
