not a lot different. You have mana problems early on but they go away with gear. You have to downrank a few spells but you have tools in your kit for everything.

Quickest leveler outside of maybe hunter. Mind Control is the most fun ability in the game, mana burn wins fights.

can do what you want, but I am aware that the xp in most instances will be really bad. You will want to graduate out of those instances and because of how low level gear works, you actually don't need any of the talents in protection until 50+ to tank

Instances aren't that good xp actually. It'll be much faster to level by questing but you'll want to do instances when you can get all the quests and try to get some upgrades to make leveling easier. Having an up-to-date weapon is very important to make warrior leveling smooth.

Find a healer buddy (priest preferably) and you can zoom through quests, mobs, pvp, and easy access to dungeons along the way since you only need 3 dps idiots to fill the group and there are plenty of those around.

Dungeons aren't really worth the time spent as far as xp goes. It's more about getting gear to make leveling outside the dungeon faster. Prot also doesn't bring enough to the table to make it worth going til end-game. Personally if I were going to make a warrior and planning to tank a lot while leveling, I'd go arms for the ability to open with charge and keep the rage on stance change. I'd probably go arms even without tanking, since fury can't force proc enrage anymore.

Warrior solo questing is cancer. I leveled to 60 dungeon grinding back in vanilla too. Makes even more sense for warriors since they're so gear dependent.

before they disabled healing spells and tanking spells on DPS speccs you could do it all, you just needed an extra set of int gear(if you were say a feral druid), or if you're a warrior you just need to throw on a shield and 1-hander to tank.

Depending where you live it's not a huge difference. My server on Retail was in a datacenter in LA and I had no issues connecting to it in Texas. If you're on the East Coast you might have problems though. They've not confirmed where these new servers are physically located though.

Yea Forums is really good at trying to kill the hype. I would almost have bought it if I hadn't tested the game on a private server and found it to be exactly the same as back when I was playing. Even the social interaction which suggests to me it wasn't people being different back then but the game forcing a certain kind of playstyle.

I may not answer your questions but I will say I played from the beginning to end of Wrath, played a small part of cataclysm and then gave up. Most fun was between classic and most of burning crusade and some fun occasionally in wrath.

I thought pretty long on my options but I usually roll druid for the simple fact I can join rogues and do some instances quickly since can skip content in a stealth group.

user, that's not an accurate test. A private server is just a collection of people, like you, who are from Vanilla. Classic is going to have actual new blood and you're going to see the true face of gamers nowadays, you're going to say hello and 8\10 will entirely ignore you or walk away.

Hybrid classes were actually healing classes. All their other specs sucked. Spriest probably sucked the least but it was still a "1 in the whole raid" thing.

Oh, but you can do that in retail currently if you toggle that on.

As a Druchad I got a /thank or a /wave every other time i buffed people on the stress test, you should expect it as a priest too

That's the thing, I've been playing FFXIV the last year or so and it's the same, kids are petrified of saying anything and will even teleport away sometimes if you try to talk to them.

I agree that Classic is a game that encourages communication, I'm just saying I think the modern gamer is actually beyond that, they'll find a way to play without engaging. It's only a few weeks away, you'll see what I mean.

Druid is probably the most capable, since they can legit Tank,DPS and Heal but you have to do incredibly specific things to make that work and your group has to be cool with it, it's all been tested and it does work so it's down to you to convince your guild to let you do it.

Classic wow wasn't one thing, it was a combination of everything it offered.

What spec specifically interests you, or if you don't know, they what kind of role do you prefer? Shaman is desirable but even more specific with what you can do, Druid for dps you need a specific item\playstyle but if you do that then you can do comparable damage.
