DQ and FF don't get shit for music because 1. SE is autistic and 2. The composers of those games own all their music, meaning Sakurai would have to pay the composers directly, making it more expensive.

The DKR cast were all in the DS version apart from Banjo and Conker, although Rare did develop that themselves so I'm not totally sure what their status is. I doubt they will get used in anything else apart from Tiptup since it was already looking like they would've been dropped in Dnkey Kong Racing apart from Taj.
As for the superior original N64 version, it never saw a re-release on Wii or Wii U VC despite being in the top 10 of best selling N64 games.

Doomguy does have laser weapons and he is no stranger to punching and kicking things
Plus Joker's gun shoots real bullets and it isn't stylized at all, its literally a real life gun.
Doomguy's super shotgun, energy rifle, and BFG are stylized enough to maybe be alright.

We're all kind of forgetting something. Joker's gun is a toy that only has power in the mind, and Bayonetta was censored and her guns are also magical in nature. Doom Slayer, even without the blood and gore, is still extremely violent in weaponry AND melee. He would have to be toned down so hard that he'd become a parody of himself. If his Gory Kills are used for throws or B moves, they'll be extremely softened up. And the impact of his weapons will be greatly diminished as well.

Regarding his moveset, how would they do it? Would he be A moves melee and B moves ranged? The Shotgun and other close-range weapons as Smash attacks or aerials? Would they even include the Chainsaw?

m8's, Snake literally has bombs and mortar and mines and shit, which are a HUGE no-no in some parts of the world due to histories of actual mines taking legs off their kids and shit.

Snake has realistic weapons of warfare as his main character trait and moveset. Doomguy having the same would get the pass. There's no problem with the guns and explosives, the only thing is adapting them in a way that isn't gory IE flinching when getting shot with exaggerated particle effects and whatnot.

Chainsaw might be off limits though honestly.

The funny thing is, Snake's weapons in Smash are more acceptable as things children can see because they're the exaggerated explosive kind of weapons, one that your average person isn't going to own or be able to acquire. Recall that while people raised a stink over guns in cartoons, they never complained about rocket launchers or grenades or mines, even today you can have a character whip out a portable missile launcher and fire it at the heroes but they can't pull out a pistol or a rifle (unless they look really fantastical and fire lasers).

Hero is more a traditional RPG fighter, less of a witch style fighter as defined by Ashleyfags. Ashleyfags would always try to defend their lolibait by saying that it wasn't JUST because she was their waifu that she should get in and say that she'd have a traditional witch moveset which isn't in the game yet. Cauldron, spells, broomstick riding, etc. Kamek covers this archetype better, pic related covers this better too now that Banjo-Kazooie are in for future games.

Grunty would have been a dream fighter, but I'm 100% for Kamek, and always have been. I think Piranha Plant very decisively guaranteed no other mook-like Mario fighter would ever get in, unfortunately.

Kamek is a bit of a special case, he started out as a mook but has since upgraded to a primary secondary character. He's the main antagonist of the Yoshi's Island series, Bowser's second-in-command within the RPGs, and makes regular talking appearances in the various spin-offs as one of Bowser's higher ups. He's the closest thing to a side-kick that Bowser has, acting as an advisor and baby-sitter to the Koopalings/Bowser Jr.

Imagine if Smash gets more fighter passes, or Smash 6 comes with even more characters, imagine the last one of the most requested (on smashboards) characters that is out of the cast.

Geno or Shantae would be a pretty big BTFO to the "spirits deconfirm" crowd. Isaac, Waluigi, Shovel Knight, Ashley, Alucard, Bomberman, or Skull Kid would be the same for the "assist trophies deconfirm" crowd. I don't think any of them would have the same wow factor as Banjo but they'd come kinda close assuming they're introduced in Ultimate and not a newer Smash game that doesn't otherwise feature those characters.

For reference, I'm a ShovelKnightfag and I was content with the Assist Trophy since it was more than I ever realistically expected him to get.

There are plenty of "default skins" in Smash already, the personality comes from the games, and Minecraft has a lot of personality to it.

Exactly. Shovel Knight has been making appearances in tons of games other than his own but that was largely indies looking out for each other and showing appreciation for their fellow man. Shovel Knight appearing in Smash is like vidya equivalent to God descending from the heavens into the land of indies, looking down at all the tiny and relatively insignificant IPs and actually pointing at SK and saying "You. You're coming with me."
