Joker was my most wanted but a "not happening" character. Then he got announced. Other than that, Lucina and Young Link are both back again. Only character left that I didn't get was Geno

He’s a slow character but once you get to know him and uses his bombs he’s amazing, especially with his recovery

Pretty decent so far, there's a couple of gameplay videos of it. Think all they've really changed so far is the movement of ultimate.

I don't particularly care for NG either way but Hayabusa with modern and retro costumes would be pretty sick. Pretty much the last NES rep that would be needed as well.

Inkling, Ridley, Simon, K.Rool and Banjo were all at the top of my list, so pretty good run all round.

Without my boy Corrin, I wouldn't even touch this game. I fucking loved the character from the moment news came over from Japan about a new Fire Emblem game, mainly because it was a cute barefoot girl with the same name as my childhood crush but after finally playing the game to see if it would change my mind I like the guy better. Coming from what I usually watch/read, it's really unique to me to have a character that's so emotionally weak and unsure.
I actually believed everything Yea Forums said about him despite my initial reaction being positive, but actually seeing him in game blew all that shit the fuck out. The lance arms and shit look cool as hell and are like nothing I've seen before. I love all the neat tricks and unique interactions hidden in his kit. I've seen rosterfag lists with like 800 characters and out of all of them I'd still pick Corrin every time.

banjo is my day one main. i have never thought about it much but now that hes announced i definitely will use him once he gets released. might even just buy him out of the figher's pass because the first two guys don't interest me. as for current characters in that i like, i'm glad my main from brawl, pokemon trainer, is back, and so much better this time around (no stupid stamina mechanic, flare blitz is a better move for charizard, ivysaur is now a good character) and i also like how bowser plays in ultimate.

Honestly I just didnt want anyone to be cut, and even though I dont play them I wanted ICs back.
Inkling was hype too, love Splatoon so I wanted to main them. When they first came out they felt super weird to play but now their moveset is just about everything I could ask for in a fighter.
Isabelle I was a big naysayer that she would ever get in, even though she's my AC waifu. I thought she wasnt big enough to make it in but it ended up happening anyway which was hype

I dabbled with a few different characters before finally settling on Little Mac.
You have to have a lot of tolerance to play Little Mac. He's a lot less straightforward than people believe. Just learned about roll cancelled dash grab today, and holy shit, it helps little mac's grab a ton. I've stopped whiffing grabs as much and can punish shields. There's a lot of shit to learn with him even if he's bottom tier. Stay strong Macbro.

I'm happy with these 3 guys. Aside from wanting Sora, Inkling was my most wanted along with Incineroar when he didn't get into Pokken. Megaman was my main in Smash 4 so it's all good in Ultimate. Probably the only game that will let me see these 3 clash in Mementos, Dr. Wily's Castle, The Falling tower from Bayonetta and much more.
