It was isekai back when the goal of isekai was getting back to your own universe, and maybe learning something about yourself along the way. Takeru went through hell instead of getting his dick sucked at every corner.

I ignored VN's for years but I was running dry on anime and I figured why not I'll give it a shot. I first tried Katawa Shoujo and that was nice but all the research I did said this was THE vn to play. I enjoyed the first one but wasn't sure what the big deal was and then I started the second game. And then I got to the 3rd. Just blew me away, couldn't believe something like this was around all this time and I didn't know about it.
I love anime but I hate how shallow the stories usually are and how they feel like cliff notes versions. This was everything I wanted, nice anime art style but with a story with meat on its bones. I encourage anyone who is on the fence to give it a shot you won't regret it, and try to go in as blind as possible. Don't spoil yourself.

Would I like Umineko if I liked Muv Luv? I'm on episode 2 of Umineko and I just got past the locked room debate thing and I really enjoyed it. Are the rest of the remaining episodes like this? Also magic isn't real.

it's great but it gets a bit too anime at times. I thought Higurashi was better but the true plot of Umineko was better. The payoff of realizing what happened was way better.

i forgot to add, something i definitely didn't expect was after finishing the trilogy i realized i enjoyed extra the most. but that might be because i never watch/read romance or slice of life shit so it was a new experience for me.

I feel like with alternative, the writer was so focused on his scifi plot like near the last quarter they remembered it was a H VN cause the shit in alternative was real fuckin weird.

imo its worth it and extra is actually important to the rest of the story so dont skip it. it is the shortest of the 3 so its not that bad
