when i did the original i didn't really have any software to make it easy to clean out the whitespace in the pic but since i do now (and grafics' head already had transparency) i did this for you, and i cleaned up a bit of annoying residue i accidentally left from the grafics layer
deleting whitespace is still hard because of the lighting on the king part of the pic so it's not perfect

I mean there aren't really any other fighters this gen I'd say have better costumes and singleplayer (except maybe smush and MK11). Reversal Edge isn't particularly relevant above scrub levels.
Low number of stages is a valid complaint though.

Well, of those, definitely not tekken. It's got no tutorial whatsoever, a brutal learning curve, and pretty weak singleplayer.

Sc6 and dragonball both have fairly good singleplayer modes. DBFZ's is way higher budget, but I found sc6's nicer to actually play. They've both got alright tutorials. DBFZ has a bigger playerbase than sc6 so it might be easier to find players around your skill level, but getting raped by 20-second long combos might not be fun.

I'd actually recommend soulcalibur for 3d and samurai showdown for 2d

yeah it has two campaigns One a multichoice rpg where you make your own character that ties into the main story and the second being the individual character stories that tie in with your CaS character's story.Each of the DLC cast apart from 2b has their own story mode that is about an hour each DLC character

GG and BB are dead in all modes. Fighterz is plenty alive but the online mode is shit to begin with. The new released Kill LA Kill game, if we consider it a fighting game, is in the exact same situation as SC, only with even less players. SFV and Tekken are okay i guess, though in my experience Tekken takes a little longer to find people.

For Windjammers it's because the game is really popular in conventions here.
SC games are really popular so you'll find a lot of small local competitive scenes scattered everywhere

Try to learn something new about your character each time. Like a combo a punish etc. Look for guides and combo videos and high level play videos and slowly incorporate them into your play.

I'm trying to learn Siegfried (because of his seiyuu) and Talim (because of her cunny).

I know that the point of this webm is to show off Cassandra's ass stomp move, but I have to say what interests me as much as that is the shield bashing animation. It's got a nice and satisfying punchiness and weight to it. In fact, I've been watching her moveset video on YouTube and just about any attack that involves her shield looks so damn satisfying.

You don't need to take it seriously as a competitive game, user. You can build some custom fighters and have fun sharing them with other people online. People sometimes make lobbies for beginners that are essentially character creation showcases.

It's more interesting for me coming from 2D fighters as the characters look more unique than Tekken because of all the weapons. I used to spam with Talim in SC2 when I was younger, how good is she? And what characters are the best balance of range and speed?

The degrees of which is what I don't like. Some strong, high damage moves with good properties are only like -10 on block. The risk involved in having that move blocked is very low compared to the reward you get for it hitting. It's very rare for a move to be -13 or higher on block.

Talim is sitting with 90% of the rest of the cast in a big blob in A and B tier. Some argue she's closer to the upper half of the blob, but it's hard to say. I play her and I think she's breddy gud.
If you want a balance between range and speed, I'd say Kilik and particularly Raphael pull that off well.

Talim and Voldo are similar, as in: if you get the opponent to not understand what the everliving fuck you're doing, and you don't understand it either, you win, period.

Cus reversal edge is the most annoying shit for someone like me who generally sucks at fighting games but wants to enjoy them. Played the shit out of SC4 and 5

I wish I could, I want to feel like I'm playing with some sort of purpose and not just button mashing but after playing this for a while (I've just gone back to it after several months but I put a few weeks in when it first came out) the extent of my knowledge is "side step verticals". I can't remember combos for toffee, forget to block low or block at all, etc.

I am. But I've just been playing campaign getting accustomed to the controls.
Although I know playing bots will lead to some bad habits, it's already paying off in the sense that I memorized my moves now and got to grips with most of the game mechanics to the point that I think to use almost all of them.
The game is actually a lot of fun even against bots. It's just engaging to play and I keep forgetting the time while playing.
And it's not just because of my booby demon character.
It's also nice that my hands don't fall off because I need to input a freaking piano song to deal any damage after a hit.

There are plenty of low rank players on ranked and casual.You can rematch ones you like in ranked or set up your own lobby for new players.SC has a pretty low entry for a fighting game more so even than tekken.Its very accessible.

in tekken, because of the screw mechanic, you can make a lot of different routes from a launcher. same thing with GG and its roman cancel mechanic

You would probably like Groh if you like big combos from getting juicy Lethal Hits. He's above average when it comes to pure fundamentals and pretty basic, but gets huge damage during his Soul Charge and off Lethal Hits, like landing a counter hit 6A+B, or hitting them in the back with 4B. His optimal combo off A+B which you will land often if they like to spam reversal edges does 40% and can end in his stance mixup.

His big weaknesses are just that his mixups are all reactable and his crouching/while rising punishes are garbage which actually ends up being quite a detriment against characters that require you to duck a lot of their stronger tools or characters that can commonly put you in crouch.

what's the best follow up for when you land Cassandra angel step lethal counter? it pushes the enemy pretty far back so you can burn your charge doing the 2A+B or with better timing push in and go for the 6B+K, A but both seems a little less than optimal
